Tony Stark gets Hermione's mother pregnant when they are both in their early 20s. Tony goes back to America and Hermione's mom doesn't know how to get in contact with him. Hermione's dad offers to marry her to hide the fact that she got married out of wedlock.
Both of Hermione's parents are killed during the war. In their will, he tells Hermione that Tony Stark is her biological father.
Hermione is shocked and decides to put it out of her mind and focus on helping rebuild.
On her 19th birthday though she tells Harry about it and tells him that she wants to go to New York to confirm her parents' will and maybe get to know Tony.
Harry goes with her.
Tony thinks at first that Hermione is another woman trying to claim she's pregnant with his kid and is understandably shocked when she tells him that she wants a DNA test for herself.
(Harry and Hermione have always had feelings for each other but each thought that the other deserved better. Harry also knew how Ron felt about Hermione and didn't to hurt his friend. After Ron left and they were dancing in the tent , they kissed each other.
They profess their love for each other and Harry proposes to her so that she knows that he'll always love and never leave her.)
