Sirius snapped his head up at the sound of James clearing his throat for the third time in two minutes."What?!" Sirius asked,staring at James who currently stood with his hands inside Sirius' wardrobe,his head turned to the side to look directly at Sirius."Will you stop flirting with Moony,for one second and answer the question i have asked you four times?" James raised his eyebrows at Sirius who opened and closed his mouth a few times before actually speaking.
"how did you know i was 'flirting' with moony?" Sirius asked,creating air quotes with his fingers as he watched James bring his hands onto his hips."You're blushing" James stated as if it was the most obvious thing in the world."Oh my god,you can never tell Moony!" Sirius eyes widened,a smile threatening to show from the pure irony."And why is that?" James asked and Sirius rolled his eyes."Because i may or may not have made it a thing to make him blush and then make fun of him for it" Sirius replied,looking down at his phone to see Remus had said goodbye meaning,Sirius now had to actually put his phone down and put some clothes on.
Sirius stood up walking towards James and peering into his wardrobe."Okay.show me what you've picked" Sirius told James as he adjusted the waistband of his boxers to sit more comfortably."First of all,i am not your slave.Second of all,i have found something yes." Sirius just rolled his eyes at his bestfriend before looking to where James pulled several items out of the wardrobe.
"okay so,my thoughts were.Your ripped black jeans,of course.With a white tshirt and then your rugby hoodie? not too smart but still looking good? yeah?" James layed out the outfit across Sirius' bed and Sirius nodded along as he looked over the clothes.
He looked at His black jeans,his favourite ones,with rips in the knees and thighs.He liked them,good choice.The White tshirt,plain and simple,good.And his rugby hoodie,the burgundy hoodie sporting his school house logo on the front right of the chest and 'BLACK' in big,bold,yellow writing across the top of his back.Comfortable and not bad.Sirius agreed with James' outfit choice.
"see? this is why you're my bestfriend Jamie.Always with the good choices" Sirius winked,ruffling James' still sleep thick hair."Yeah,yeah.Now get dressed,you prat.I have to pick clothes for myself aswell,you know?" James pushed Sirius away from him,A beaming smile on his face as he laughed.
Sirius pulled on his clothes but not before making sure he smelt his best,putting on his favourite deoderant aswell as his favourite cologne.Sirius decided before putting on his hoodie,that he wanted to put a simple,small silver chain necklace on to add something extra.
Once he was dressed,in his tshirt and jeans,saving his hoodie for last so he wouldn't get too hot,Sirius made his way down into the common room in search for the only person who seemed to contain his hair in such amazing ways.
"oh mckinnon!! Marlene? Marlieeee where are you,my dear?" Sirius sing-songed until he saw a familiar head of blonde hair and a beaming smile that could only belong to one person."Oh hello,my love" Marlene joked and Sirius made his way over to where she sat with her girlfriend,Dorcas."Do you mind being a darling and styling my hair" Sirius asked and Marlene nodded,standing up and pulling her girlfriend along with her,up to the marauders dorm room.
"why do i need to be here?" Dorcas asked as she watched Marlene correct Sirius' hair so it parted perfectly in the middle."Emotional support?" Marlene gave her a sweet smile before focusing back on Sirius' hair.Dorcas was sat on the edge of Sirius' bed while Marlene stood behind Sirius,who sat on his bed,his back against Marlene's legs.And James? he was frantically running around trying to find his own hair products,shouting something about "you messy gits have got to learn how to tidy things away" after tripping over one of Sirius' trainers and stepping on Peter's math homework.
Sirius' hair was long,reaching the back of his neck and flopping to frame each side of his face neatly and after some touch ups from Marlene his hair actually looked good."You amaze me everytime marlie" Sirius turned away from the mirror to wink at his bestfriend.She smiled at the nickname,reserved only for him and stood up off the bed."hey it's what i'm here for.Now,go get your man" Marlene joked as she punched Sirius in the arm.Sirius rolled his eyes,laughing as the two girls left to go back to the common room.
"you ready?" James asked,he and Peter were ready first and were just waiting for Sirius.If was going to take them 20 minutes to get to the hospital so the boys set off with enough time to spare.Sirius had explained the circumstances and mcgonagall had granted them permission to leave for the day as long as they returned by 3pm.
Remus had spent the last 10 minutes nodding along to the doctors words,pretending to listen and agree to everything.All he could think about was seeing his friends.Sure,he saw Lily and Mary atleast once a week but after the surgery all he wants to do is be surrounded by his friends and family.11 o'clock came and the doctors and nurses finally left allowing Lily and mary to walk in after them."Hiya babe,how you feeling?" Lily asked as she walked over to Remus' bedside,handing his mum a coffee on her way,exchanging a quick warm smile between them."like shit" remus shrugged,a smirk on his face."Remus" his mother warned,as she raised her eyebrows at him."Sorry mum.I could feel better than i do but i feel better than i have" Remus replied and Lily nodded along."We brought donuts but we weren't sure if you'd be allowed to eat or if you'd like want to eat yet" Mary spoke as she stood on the other side of Remus,her hand on his shoulder."Please,have you met me? there isn't a word anyone in this hospital could say to keep me away from having a donut.Hand it over Macdonald" Remus joked and everyone laughed.
They sat,eating donuts and drinking,coffee for lily,mary and hope and water for Remus.Time moved on and eventually it reached 11:30.Remus hadn't heard from Sirius since earlier but he had noticed Lily looking down at her phone a few times."Okay,i'm going home,i need to shower and bring some more stuff over but i'll be back in a few hours.Are you sure you'll be alright?" Hope spoke as she stood up from the armchair at Remus' bedside."Yes,Mum.I'll be fine,get yourself a nice shower.Relax a bit" Remus smiled at her and she nodded."You don't need to rush back Mrs Lupin,i'll stay with him until your back" Lily offered and hope smiled before pressing a gentle kiss into Lily's red hair."Thank you,Lily" hope smiled.She moved around the bed to give Mary a hug and a quick kiss on the head before standing beside Remus' bed."call me if you need anything" she told him and Remus nodded.And with a quick kiss on the cheek Hope said her goodbyes and left to go home.
Lily looked down at her phone and huffed a laugh."The idiots got lost on the way,they're two minutes away" Remus smiled to himself before fear suddenly pooled in his stomach."oh my god.That's like really soon.Oh god,what if he doesn't like me?" Remus panicked and Lily raised her eyebrows at him."From what we hear,he has told you that he likes you.A few time,if i recall correctly" Mary jumped in and Remus sighed."i know but what if he changes his mind? " Remus looked between his two friends,a sincere look in his eyes."Moony.I promise you,that won't happen.You are one of the best people i know.Not to mention you're a totally jaw droppingly handsome.Stop worrying,it'll be fine." Lily smiled and held Remus' hand in hers.
The three of them talked for a while between themselves before Lily's phone buzzed."Okay,They're outside,i'll go find them." Remus nodded and Lily stood up,still looking at him."Okay,are you sure about this?" she asked one more time and Remus nodded,an excited but nervous smile on his face.And with that Lily disappeared out of the room to go and find the three boys outisde.
Remus sat waiting,talking with Mary about the recent drama at school between two kids in their year.Part of Remus misses school but he certainly isn't one for drama."Come on,Sirius.Don't be a drama queen" Remus looked over to the open door to his room,directly infront of his bed,he couldn't see anyone but he could definitely hear the voice of James Potter."Sirius,don't be a chicken.It's just Moony.You literally talk to him 24/7." Remus could hear mumbled words but they were too far away for him to hear the exact sentences.That was until he heard footsteps getting closer.
The first boy to step in was a blonde boy,rather small,that must be Peter.Remus exchanged a friendly smile with the boy as he walked into the room.Next,a tall (still not as tall as Remus),tanned boy who wore gold rimmed glasses,a charming smile on his face,walked in following the blonde boy.James Potter.James spoke an excited "Hiya,mate" to which Remus returned the greeting,a smile on his face before his eyes turned to the boy who was stood beside James,now walking into the room,James' hand wrapped around the last boys wrist.Remus' lips parted and he did everything in his power to keep his jaw from dropping to the floor.Sirius' hair was a dark black,framing his face and showing off his sharp cheekbones and perfect jaw line.He wore a leather jacket over his hoodie and a nervous look in his eyes,as he gave remus a small smile.
"hi" Sirius smiled,looking at the boy in the hospital bed,infront of him.Remus had light brown hair that sat in a clump of messy curls ontop of his head,a scar coming from the bridge of his nose to the middle of his cheek and a faint blush across his cheeks."hi" Remus returned the smile,a hand coming up to scratch the back of his neck nervously."You look great,Moony.I'd never of guessed you had surgery literally yesterday" James jumped in,perfectly timed.Oh how Sirius loved James Potter for saving the day."yeah,the blue gown really helps me fit in and look normal,you know? You'd never guess" James laughed at that,showing a set of perfect teeth but Remus looked over at Sirius who visibly relaxed,laughing at what Remus had said.Sirius caught his eye and his smile only grew further.
After that,the tension eased more and more.Sirius took a seat in the armchair to Remus' right and let out a groan followed by a string of complaints when James flopped down next to him,well half next to him and half on top of him,resting his legs over the top of Sirius'.Remus introduced Lily and Mary to each of the boys and vice versa which only made them get along even more.
Eventually Mary had to leave,telling Remus that she would be back tomorrow and making him promise to text her.She placed a kiss on Remus' forehead to which he rolled his eyes,a fond smile on his face."i'll walk you out" Lily smiled,standing up to follow Mary out of the room."Remus,you know if there's any vending machines around here?" James asked,shifting in the chair and making Sirius yelp out a startled "Ow!" when he practically sat on his leg."Ermmm,i haven't been out there much but Lily said there was a few vending machines in the corridor.Down and to the left" Remus replied and James nodded."i'll come too,you dragged me out of bed before i could have breakfast" Peter stood up and began following James out of the room."You want anything,pads?" James asked,turning around as he reached the door."Erm,suprise me" Sirius replied and James rolled his eyes playfully."Lazy git" he mumbled with a wink before leaving the room with Peter.
Now that it was just the two of them,reality set in."i can't believe you're actually here" Sirius turned his head away from the door to see Remus smiling at him softly."i can't believe i'm here either.We got lost and i thought we'd never make it" Sirius joked "you know what i mean,dickhead" Remus laughed and Sirius placed a hand on his chest,gasping in fake offense."Remus-whatever your middle name is-Lupin how dare you.Do you really not care about me that much!?" Remus laughed,almost giggled and Sirius' heart grew three sizes."Oh yeah,don't like you at all" Remus deadpanned and Sirius burst out laughing,throwing his head back against the back of the armchair."Oh! also Remus-something-Lupin" Sirius spoke,his eyebrows raised as he crossed his arms over his chest."You are so hot!" Sirius had a playful smirk on his face and Remus laughed looking away from Sirius."Moonyyyyy" Sirius teased and Remus hid his face in his hands,laughing along."oh come on,please.I have to see it in person" Sirius laughed and Remus joined in,laughing behind his hands."Please,Moony.Let me see the famous blush caused by the amazing,goregous,sexy,perfect Sirius Black" Sirius posed as Remus looked up from behind his hands a deadpanned expression on his face.That lasted about two seconds before he burst out laughing again."oh my god,i hate you so much" Remus laughed,his face behind his hands again."Come on,Moony.You know you don't" Remus felt gentle hands on his wrists before Sirius pulled his hands away from his face.
Remus looked at Sirius,his cheeks dusted pink as he stared into Sirius' grey eyes.Sirius who was now sat on the edge of Remus' bed,on the opposite side to remus' bad hip after having established earlier which one it was,a smirk on his face as he wiggled his eyebrows at Remus.Sirius smiled making Remus instantly smile back before the sound of James Potter's voice rang through the corridor."Ohhh paaaaads! look what i have!!" James sing-songed as he walking into the room,holding up a bag of skittles.Sirius turned around to look at James and let out a whined "Noooooo" dropping his forehead down onto Remus' shoulder."What's wrong with skittles like?" Remus chuckled and Sirius lifted his head up to look at Remus."Nothing.What's wrong is James Potter is an obnoxious arse who likes to ping skittles at you while you're trying to study.I never study,Moony!! i had an important assessment the next day and that twat was pelting skittles at my head" Sirius complained while James sat down in the armchair,a smug smile on his face."And now they're banned from the dorm room" Peter added and Remus laughed at James who opened the bag of sweets and winked at Sirius."You can't throw them at me in here,you might hit poor Moony and then i'll get you done for hurting an injured person" Sirius smiled smugly at James as he placed a hand on Remus' chest,next to his shoulder."Fine.But only because your next to Moony and i like him too much to throw skittles at him" James replied,throwing a skittle into the air and catching it in his mouth."Thank you,i really appreciate that" Remus laughed and James winked at him."You,however,the second you move,i will rain hell on you" James joked,pointing his finger at Sirius and Sirius pouted looking at Remus."do you see how mean he is to me?" Remus laughed patting Sirius' hand which was still on his chest,which neither of the boys had noticed.
Lily returned and she sat in the third chair to Remus' right.There was only three on that side.one big armchair and two smaller chairs.James had 'claimed' the armchair,kicking Sirius away when he attempted to go anywhere close to it and Peter and Lily took a chair each leaving Sirius to sit on the side of Remus' bed.Sirius had now abandoned his leather jacket caliming it was far too warm and leaving it on the armchair next to James,earning a skittle to the forehead.
Two nurses walked into Remus' room,with a gentle knock on the door and Remus gave them a smile."oh i'm so sorry Remus,didn't realise you had so many visitors.You must be one popular boy" One of the nurses spoke,looking at Remus with a smile."and you are very much mistaken but i love the enthusiasm" Remus replied,a similar smile on his face.Sirius stood up off of the bed but the nurse just placed a hand on his shoulder.She was smaller than he was,which made Remus laugh because if Sirius was tall to her what would Remus look like when he stood up."No your alright,love" She told Sirius and he nodded,sitting gently back down.
The nurses worked quietly for a few minutes,taking Remus' temperature,his blood pressure and small checkups with his breathing and everything."Looking good,Remus.Everything seems okay" Remus smiled and nodded,noticing that Sirius was smiling at the nurse too."i believe we can start physio tomorrow.Just something small,maybe having a proper sit up and see how you feel?" Remus' stomach dropped slightly and his smile slowly disappeared,pulling his lips in between his teeth and nodding.That was until he felt a hand gently grab his own and his smile returned,looking at Sirius."Thanks,Sarah" Remus smiled at the nurse and she nodded,starting to collect her things.
"Oh,Is there any way you can turn the heat up in here?" Remus asked before the two nurses left."No,sorry Remus,We can only turn the heating up in the whole hospital rather than seperate rooms,which i'm not allowed to do,sorry" The nurse replied and Remus nodded with a smile."Do you want me to see if we can get you another blanket?" Remus shook his head,giving the nurse a smile and watching as they left."Are you cold,Moony?" James asked and Remus nodded."Just a bit,it's fine though" Remus replied and Lily dug through Remus' backpack to see if Hope had packed a jumper for him."There isn't one in here,sorry babe.I think that's on your mums list of things to bring you" Lily spoke,sitting back down in her seat as Remus nodded."Do you want mine?" Sirius asked,turning his head towards Remus."No,No it's alright,you keep it" Remus smiled but Sirius only raised his eyebrows."Are you sure? i'm really rather warm.I don't mind" Sirius pressed and Remus smiled while shaking his head."no,It's alright" Sirius of course didn't take this as an answer so he stood up,pulling his hoodie up over his head.Meanwhile Remus definitely didn't stare at the toned set of abs that peeked out from underneath Sirius' shift that lifted mid way up his body as he did so."Moony,take the damn hoodie" Sirius laughed and Remus laughed before taking the hoodie into his hands.
Remus' hospital bed was sat so he was practically sitting but he hadn't yet sat fully up on his own so Lily stood up,standing beside Remus and helping him pull the hoodie over his head to sit comfortably."There we are.Better?" sirius asked,sitting back down on the bed beside Remus' hips."You really didn't have to" Remus told him but Sirius shook his head."Oh shush" Remus laughed,folding his arms so his hands rested on his stomach.Luckily Sirius' hoodie was quite oversized so while it drowned Remus where Sirius' rugby toned arms and body would fit,it fit Remus in length perfectly."Wow,you two are even worse in real life" James mumbled,his eyes switching between the pair and with a swift kick,aimed precisely at James' shin,Sirius sent James to the floor,doubled over gripping onto his lower leg while letting out a mixture of laughter and complaints."be nice" Remus laughed quietly as he nudged Sirius with his knee slightly."he started it" Sirius shrugged as he watched James pull himself back into his armchair.
"Okay,Moony we promised Mcgonagall that we would be back for 3 and it's already 2:50,so bearing in mind it takes 20 minutes to get back to school,the earlier we get back,the quicker we get our detentions over and done with" James announced,standing up from the armchair and sliding his phone into the pocket of his jeans."You're almost as bad as him" Remus laughed as he pointed at Sirius,who of course gasped dramatically."I say almost,only because i know for a fact he already has a detention to do tonight.This one making it a double" Remus finished "erm whoops?" James laughed and helped Sirius up off of the bed before picking Sirius' leather jacket up."we'll catch up soon,Moony! nice to finally see you mate! and it was nice meeting your friends too!" he smiled,ruffling a hand into Remus' hand before making his way towards the door."Oi! give me my jacket back!" Sirius yelled to James who was now wearing Sirius' leather jacket."Nope.Finders keepers and all that" and with a wink,James left the room,presumeably to wait in the hallway."arse" Sirius muttered as Peter said goodbye to Remus,ignoring Sirius who slumped back to sit down onto Remus' bed again.
Peter left the room and Sirius looked over at Remus beside him."Oh don't give me that look.You look like a sad puppy" Remus joked but Sirius' face didn't change."I am sad.I don't want to go" Sirius pouted and Remus' gaze softened."i'll be alright" Remus assured the boy sat infront of him.Sirius had now moved closer so he sat right beside Remus,sideways on the bed with one leg tucked up so he could completely face him."yeah but i won't be.Who am i going to talk to?" Sirius asked and Remus furrowed his eyebrows at him."Erm me? i'm not going anywhere...Quite literally" Remus joked and Sirius' smile grew ever so slightly."i'm really glad you came,Sirius.Thank you" Remus watched as Sirius' expression changed,his eyes soft and his smile bright."Anytime,Moony" he replied,his fingers playing with the drawstring of the hoodie that Remus now wore.Sirius watched Remus with a smile,his hand now resting flat on top of Remus' chest,sending butterflies through Remus' stomach.Sirius grinned before leaning closer to Remus,their faces only inches apart."You're blushing" Sirius whispered before pressing a kiss to the other boys cheek.The kiss was gentle which only made the butterflies in Remus' stomach,fly faster."oh my god" Remus laughed quietly,covering his face with his hands as the pair of them laughed."couldn't leave without a goodbye,could i?" Sirius winked as Remus uncovered his face."And a simple 'goodbye,Remus' wouldn't have done the job?" Remus joked and Sirius raised his eyebrows,a hand still resting on Remus' chest."Oh so you don't want me to do that again,then?" Sirius challenged,staring right at Remus."Well i never said that now,did i?" Sirius laughed and leaned in pressing one last kiss to Remus' cheek before pulling away and looking at him."How else would i get my point across?" Sirius winked and Remus crossed his arms over his body."Well,i could think one more way" Apparently a surge of confidence ran through Remus' body in that moment,because did he really just suggest that Sirius should kiss him? like properly kiss him? Before Remus even had chance to panic about what he said,Sirius' smirk grew and he placed a hand on Remus' cheek.
"All in due time,my love" And with a pat on Remus' cheek,Sirius stood up and walked towards the door before turning to face Remus."Goodbye,Moony" Remus laughed as Sirius made a show of his exit,bowing at Remus."Goodbye,Prat" Remus chuckled and watched as Sirius disappeared out of the room,leaving Remus alone with the butterflies still dancing through his body while he waited fir lily to get back from the bathroom.
Sirius felt like his legs were going to give away as he walked towards James and Peter who were stood looking out of a window down the corridor."Ready to go? it's 3 o'clock already.Mcgonagalls gonna kill us" James laughed and the three began walking."Yeah" Sirius breathed,focusing on walking rather than the fireworks in his stomach."You alright,mate? you look a bit...flushed?" James teased and Sirius shoved him playfully."Piss off" he mumbled,a smile threatening to break out on his face as they made their way out of the hospital.
