Preface
Regulus was in the common room writing a letter about his growing affections for a certain Golden Boy by the name James Fleamont Potter. He was never good at expressing or understanding his emotions, better yet he wasn’t good at letting anyone fully in. But there was something different about James, his James, Jamie the sun to his stars that made him want to. Jamie made him want to be good, to be brave, honest and true to himself. Something that made his friends jealous.
What he felt for this boy was something deep that felt like it had no ending, just a beginning that went on as if in a never-ending dream. He wouldn't call it love, to him that was too common, too mundane to explain what he felt. It was more like something eternal. To Regulus love was limited, as if it was a means to an end, a point to where love expired, and he knew from experience. What he felt had no words or titles to describe it at least until his pen met the paper. He swore on his magic that what he felt was carved into his bones. That his bones will carry all his emotions, all his thoughts and feelings for James. That even after his death his feelings will be eternalized, studied and preserved for all future witches and wizards to see. They would learn about this new magic that was produced by Love from Regulus' feelings towards James.
For him James was a Divine pure creature like a unicorn to wizards or predilection, a sacred being like a God to muggles. All you could do was love them and bask in their light, a light that brought you hope, faith and love. One that made you feel whole, like you were never alone and always loved. But with every hidden touch, every whisper of sweet nothings, every forbidden kiss with only the stars and walls as their witness began to feel like a curse. A wound to the heart with every hidden lingering stare from across the great hall began to bleed like a cut from a cursed blade to the heart. And Regulus was no novice when it came to a knowing love without pain and sacrifice, he just wished he was wrong this time.
