Blazai Adoption
Blazai
2/28/24
Notes: This takes place when Dazai and Blaise are 20 years old, and have taken in Atsushi, Gin, Akutagawa, and Q.
Blaise and Dazai were in the middle of their honeymoon, walking through a park that was empty or so they thought it was just 10 minutes of walking. Later they heard it, cries so small it seemed like it was further away.
Dazai and Blaise looked towards each other, nodding, they began their walk towards the soft cries slowly making their way towards a part of the park with big trees and bushes that were big enough to help someone hide.
Once they got through the shrubbery they realized that the cries had Been stifled, sharing another look with blaise they continued on a little bit more until they arrived.
A small boy with eyes that reminded him of a sunset, light gray hair with a black streak down a longer piece of hair, he was dressed in dirty blue clothes that were tearing in some parts is what seems to be the cause of the cries.
The kid was looking at them both in fear, he was scared, Dazai thought.
He put his hands in the air in a show of wanting the little boy to know he means no harm, Blaise seeing what Dazai was doing copied him.
Dazai had slowly sat down about 4 feet away from him, putting his hands on his lap, keeping them in the kid's field of view the whole time.
Blaise following Dazai's lead sat down a little behind his right side putting his hands on his lap like him.
The kid had backed up into a tree that was behind him still scared but seeing as they haven't tried anything yet had calmed down a bit.
Dazai decides to speak up now in hopes of not scaring the kid any longer.
"It's ok kid, we don't mean any harm to you, we just want to know what's wrong and why you're all the way out here by yourself."
Blaise nodding in silent agreement.
Seeing as the kid isn't talking yet he decides to make it a bit easier.
"How about this, I'll tell you our names and you tell us yours."
The kid seems to be thinking about it for a couple of seconds but nods.
Dazai softly smiles.
"Alright, my name is Osamu Dazai."
The kid nods and looks towards Blaise.
Blaise smiles at the kids.
"My name is Blaise Zabini."
The kid nods albeit a bit nervous since it's his turn now.
They give him a minute so he can prepare himself.
"N-nakajima Atsushi." He says with a small stutter.
Dazai smiles softly again.
"Alright, Atsushi, do you mind telling us why you're out here by yourself, especially when it's getting a bit late?"
The kid- Atsushi, looked down, rubbing his finger together nervously, they had time, so they waited, it was about a minute or two when Atsushi talked again.
"I ran away from the orphanage three days ago, and when it was night I got chased by a tiger that seemed to have been following me and it only showed itself at night."
The kid ran away from an orphanage? If he ran away then his living conditions must not have been good, especially seeing how young he is.
Dazai's eyes narrowed in confusion, a tiger in Yokohama, on the loose at that? There's no way otherwise it would have been on the news, and why would it be following this kid when it could hunt much bigger prey, an idea popped into Dazai's head. It's not unlikely and it seems that it might be the case.
He looked towards Blaise to see his reaction to the situation.
Blaise looked worried for the kid seeing as the kid said he ran away from the orphanage and was chased by a tiger he had the right to worry.
Dazai looked towards the sky, seeing as the sun would be setting soon.
Then he would get his answer.
Dazai gently held his hand out to Atsushi causing him to flinch a bit.
"How about this, would you like to stay with us tonight? We have to stop somewhere to check on something first though and don't worry we will make sure you're protected from the tiger. I promise we can get you something to eat when we get to our house."
Blaise smiled softly at Dazai, glad they were both wanting to help the boy but noticed the extra stop they had to make and knew something was needed to happen before they could bring the boy home with them.
Atsushi was nervous at first since he barely knew them but it's getting late and they said that he would be protected from the tiger.
There's also the fact that he hasn't eaten in three days and they offered him food plus shelter.
He looked up at the two adults and nodded, slowly reaching to the offered hand he grabbed it and stood up with them.
Blaise took the lead and guided them back out of the trees and back into the park where he turned to check on Dazai and the kid.
Dazai, still holding the kids hand in his, made their way out of the trees and bushes joining back up with Blaise and grabbed his hand.
They started walking on the path that leads out of the park, Dazai guiding them to where his plan will take place.
"Say, Atsushi, how old are you?"
Said boy looked up towards the adult.
"I'm 10."
Dazai nods.
"Alright, thank you for telling me."
Atsushi nods and looks towards the adult's joined hands.
Curious, he decided to muster up a little courage and asked.
"Um, Mr. Dazai?"
Dazai looked towards the kid.
"Yes?"
"Why do you and Mr. Blaise hold hands? From what I heard, two adults holding hands are either dating or married but those are usually a man and a woman?."
Dazai just smiled at the boy and guessed he doesn't have that much information about same gender couples.
"Well, little Atsushi, me and Blaise are actually married."
Atsushi brightened up a bit at this information but then narrowed his eyes in confusion.
"But you're both boys? Are you not?" He said looking between Blaise and Dazai.
Blaise just had an amused face but kept looking forward to make sure they don't run into or get hit by something.
Dazai had a soft smile on his face.
"Well, Atsushi, people of the same gender can be together just like two people of the opposite gender, they're just a lot more rare."
Taking in the new information, Atsushi nodded.
They kept walking in silence until Dazai took a right turn then stopped at what seems to be a warehouse.
He turned his head up looking at the sky and noticed it's almost time.
"Alright me and Blaise just have to make sure nothing is too damaged then we can head back to our home. Is that alright Atsushi? It will take about 20 minutes." Dazai said, looking down at Atsushi.
Atsushi nodded a little nervously at the new place.
They went in and Dazai asked Blaise if he could check the other rooms for damages, nodding and went without asking any questions.
That's what Dazai loved about Blaise, he trusts him a lot and follows his plans without knowing them.
20 minutes had gone by when it had started, and just as Dazai thought, Atsushi was on his knees looking up at the full moon.
He started to scream in pain from the transformation.
From a boy, to a white tiger.
Dazai leapt out of the way where the tiger had attacked.
But quickly had to maneuver himself out of the way again from another attack.
Jumping over boxes and dodging attack after attack he is stuck between the tiger and a wall.
The tiger had leapt one last time thinking it was about to get its prey; it was stopped mid-way in the air.
Dazai looked towards the left of the room where Blaise was holding his wand in front of him concentrating on the spell.
Dazai smiled at Blaise and quickly used his ability on the tiger, as to not make Blaise wait any longer, since holding such a big thing as a tiger is draining.
From a tiger back to little Atsushi who Dazai caught before he fell and hurt himself.
Making his way to Blaise who was breathing heavily like he ran a mile without a break kneeling on one knee, Dazai held his hand out for Blaise to grab and when he did he helped him stand back up.
Blaise pulled Dazai into a loose hug being mindful of the sleeping child in the arms of his husband.
"You knew?"
Dazai nodded.
The story didn't add up so this was the best outcome I came up with.
Blaise nodded and gave Dazai a kiss on the lips before pulling away but kept their hands intertwined.
Dazai smiled at Blaise.
"Let's go home now."
Blaise nodded.
After 30 minutes of walking they finally made it to their home, a nice house with a big backyard, you can tell it's taken care of with the cut grass and flower bushes going around the house.
Going inside Blaise got started with dinner while Dazai started to wake the child in his arms, they were going to have to talk about the kid's ability.
"Atsushi, wake up bud."
Stirring in his sleep he slowly started to wake up.
Dazai gave him a minute until he was fully awake.
Atsushi, now fully awake, was confused on why he was asleep in Mr. Dazai's arms, and how they got from the warehouse, to, from what he can guess is Mr. Dazai and Mr. Blaise's house.
"Huh? Mr. Dazai what happened? Weren't we just at the warehouse? And how did I fall asleep?"
Atsushi started asking question after question which is understandable seeing his situation right now.
Dazai smiled sadly because he was gonna have to break the news to the kid and that it won't be easy to hear.
"Listen, Atsushi, this won't be easy to hear, but, there never was a tiger going after you."
Atsushi looked up at Dazai, annoyed clear in his eyes at being told he was lying.
What do you mean?! I saw the tiger myself Mr. Dazai and I saw it hurt people too! I'm not lying!"
With a sigh, Dazai has to tell him the full story.
Silencing Atsushi's rant with a stern look made him feel bad but it was the only way to get him to listen.
"Listen Atsushi, the tiger was never real. The reason being is because you are the tiger."
Scared of the meaning behind the words were implying he could only ask.
"W-what do you mean?"
Dazai sighed once more.
"You are the tiger, Atsushi. You are one of the few people in the world that had something called a special ability."
Atsushi was close to tears now if what Mr. Dazai is saying is true, then, he had been the tiger, he had been the one that hurt all those people.
He couldn't hold it back anymore, all the guilt, and fear was too much for him.
He started sobbing, he couldn't stop.
Dazai pulled him close to his chest in hopes to comfort him.
Atsushi's head was in the crook of Dazais neck, now still sobbing but slowly settling down.
He fell asleep again.
Blaise came back into the room to check on them he had finished dinner and heard the whole thing. It breaks his heart to hear the poor boy.
He had set the table with 3 bowls of crab stew, something light for the kid and something that his husband likes.
Waking up Atsushi again and setting him down on one of the dining room chairs.
Atsushi, now awake, sat awkwardly at the table looking at his food which he found looked quite amazing.
After giving it a taste he started scarfing the rest down finishing his bowl fast.
Dazai and Blaise looked at him with smiles.
Looking nervous again, Atsushi apologized.
"I'm so sorry! I should have waited for permission!"
Dazai shook his head with a smile
"It's quite alright Atsushi we're quite happy that you enjoyed the food. Would you like seconds?."
Atsushi looked up immediately and nodded.
"Please?!"
Blaise nodded
"Of course, ask and I'll get you more if you're still hungry."
Atsushi nodded.
Atsushi ended up falling asleep laying his head on his arm leaning on the dining table, seeing this, they started to put the dishes in the sink.
Blaise stayed in the kitchen to clean the dishes while Dazai went and picked Atsushi up from where he sat.
He slowly made his way up the stairs and into the guest bedroom.
He laid Atsushi down onto the bed and tucked him in with a blanket.
Before he left he kissed him on the forehead and wished him good-night.
He turned around to see Blaise standing in the doorway smiling softly at the scene.
Dazai made his way to Blaise and hugged him.
Blaise wrapped his arms around Dazai's waist bringing him into a soft kiss.
They let go and started towards their bedroom holding hands all the way.
Once laying down they shared one last kiss before drifting off to sleep.
End.
