Chapter 1
Barty's POV:
“Did you hear?”
“Hear what?”
“Crouch, Rosier, Potter, and Black.”
“You mean that they're dating? Everyone knows that.”
“Everyone except us apparently” I mumbled to myself as I walked through the great hall. The same conversation was happening all over school. Everyone thought I was dating my friends- well, my friends and Potter. I wasn’t quite sure how I felt about him yet but Regulus liked him enough and Regulus doesn't like anybody.
I huffed as I sat down to the left of Evan, my hand resting on his knee as I reached for a bread roll.
“What are you huffing about?” Regulus asked with a roll of his gray eyes.
“Probably the rumors about us and Potter dating.” Evan supplied while running a hand through his blond locks.
At the mention of Potter, Regulus's eyes drifted to the Gryffindork table where Potter, Black, and Pettigrew were laughing their asses off while a very flustered-looking Lupin hid his face in a book. My best guess was Black said something and flustered his boyfriend and now they were all making fun of him for it.
“What are you boys talking about?” Came the voice of a certain Ravenclaw as she messed with her brother's hair.
“How most of the school thinks we're dating Potter,” Evan replied to his twin sister.
“Aren't you? I mean isn't that why James has finally left me alone?” Pandora's girlfriend spoke up.
Regulus answered this time. He and Evans had been decent friends since they started studying together when Regulus was put in advanced classes.
“Ja- Potter left you alone because he has basic human decency and you have a girlfriend.” He pointed to where Pandora's arm was around Evans’ waist.
Evans just nodded and waved at McKinnon who was very obviously trying to get the attention of both women. So, the couple excused themselves and walked away.
“We must be dating if even Evans thinks so,” I said as I swallowed the last of my bread roll.
Then the wheels started turning and I got an idea.
“What if we were dating?”
Regulus busted out laughing. Well, more like he snickered but in Regulus's book he had basically just fallen on the floor and was dying of laughter. “Is that your idea of asking someone out, Crouch?”
“No no no. Just think. We could pretend to date and fuck with the whole school. I'd piss off my dad, Regulus, you'd piss off your parents and brother-”
“He'd piss off his whole family tree, Barty” Evan said as he stole a piece of chicken from Regulus's plate.
“Okay,” Regulus said, clearly interested. “What about Evan and Ja- Potter? Why would they say yes?”
“Potter miss out on the chance to pull off his biggest prank yet? I think he'd rather die. As for me, I'm bored and it seems fun.” Evan answered.
“Alright. Let's catch Potter after the game today and fill him in.” I said as I looked around the table.
