Chapter 2

James’ POV:

We beat them. We absolutely destroyed Ravenclaw in the match. The end score was 210 to 50. I caught the snitch of course.

I messed with the shower controls and turned them off as I reached for my towel…

Only to be met with… a… face?

“What in Merlin’s-” I started to say when my own scream cut me off as the face bit my hand. Hard.

“Hello, Potter.” Came the voice of Barty Crouch Jr. I turned around only to be met with the Slytherin version of the Marauders. Aka: Barty Crouch Jr., Evan Rosier, and Regulus Black.

I stared for a minute in confusion before I looked down and covered myself with my hands.

“Can I have a towel before you inform me of why you lot are looking at me like you want my help in blowing up the castle?” I asked as I caught sight of Regulus’s slightly flushed face.

I smirked at Regulus before a towel hit me in the face. “Ow,” I grumbled as I put it around my waist. Using a wandless spell my mother taught me to keep it in place.

Crouch just smirked at me. “Maybe because we do want your help with a prank. Although we're not blowing up the castle. It’d be a hassle. They would probably make us help rebuild it.” The unspoken ‘and some of us use it as an escape’ hung in the air the same way it did when Padfoot wanted us to reel a prank back a little bit because it could actually cause permanent damage to a part of the castle.

I ignored the unspoken words like always and smirked right back. “What prank?”

“First, you have to promise not to tell my brother it’s just a prank.” Regulus’s voice rang out.

“We’re pranking Padfoot? Are you guys sure? The last prank against other members of the Marauders didn’t end so well.” I shook my head to rid the thoughts of The Prank. Aka: The worst school year of my life. I’m so glad that Moony and Padfoot are speaking again.

I was worried they wouldn’t understand until I heard Regulus’s voice again. “It’s nothing that can hurt him. Maybe piss him off a little, but I honestly think he’ll be pretty happy about it after like a week.” Okay, now I’m confused. What in Merlin’s beard are they talking about?

Rosier must have noticed my confusion because he spoke up next. “We want to shut the rumors up. Fake date and shake up the castle like never before. So, maybe we are blowing up the castle. Just, socially, instead of literally.”

Now the smirk returned to my face. I started nodding. “I’m in. And I promise not to tell Padfoot. As long as he doesn’t kill me, that is.”

“I think he’s more likely to kill me or Evan. Sirius knows you’re a half-decent human. He doesn’t like us.” It was Crouch’s voice this time as I walked towards my locker to get clothes on.

“So, from the moment we walk out of this locker room we’re dating?” I asked as I dropped the towel and put on my boxers and a pair of joggers.

“Yep!” Answered Ro- Evan.

“So, that means first names, staging dates, what are limits on PDA and those areas?” I asked for their boundaries like I would have if this was a real relationship.

“I’m cool with just about anything except straight-up sex in the hallway,” Evan said, as Barty immediately caught his mistake.

“Well, it wouldn’t be straight sex, Evan,” Barty laughed as Evan shoved his shoulder with a playful huff.

“You know what I mean,” Evan grumbled and I decided to step in.

“Yeah, I get it. It’s the same for me. Barty? Regulus?”

“I’m good with anything. Even shagging in the hallway.” Barty spoke and both Evan and Regulus scoffed and mumbled under their breath about the word shagging. I figured it was because they were French. Pads is the same way.

Regulus was next once he finished his mumbling “No like lips kisses in the halls. Or sex. Everything else is fine.”

“Alright. Let’s get this started then." I said as I set my glasses on the bench to pull my shirt over my head. I put my glasses back on my face and grabbed my bag as Evan reached for my hand.

I chuckled as I took his hand and walked out of the locker room and back to the castle with my fake boyfriends.

I never realized Evan’s hand was this soft…
