Ten
Charlotte Whitmore was on her last day of work before this baby was due. She didn’t feel as big as she looked however today. She wore dark jeans, a tank top and blazer that she made bigger with her wand. She would not be in court today and Dominic would be using an intern law student for the ministry for six-eight months while she was away. She hadn’t decided to take all 8 months yet. She could take a year but she was not able to stay home without going crazy. She had seen the healer yesterday and was told any day now. The baby was getting ready for its birth. She walked into the atrium and waved at Stanley as she went. He was just leaving to go home from the night shift. Stanley had sent her a card and gift certificate for a baby store in Diagon Alley. It was super sweet. She had written thank you notes to everyone who had given her a gift. “Morning”, Charlotte said sitting down at her desk in the law department. “Hi”, Said Tom who would be helping Dominic. “So any questions?”, Charlotte asked him. They had been preparing him all week to workings of the department, their cases and clients and court rooms plus meeting everyone. Of course they could just pop over to their home whenever. Not too soon however Charlotte had said of course. “I have a ton”, Tom said he had a list apparently. Charlotte wrote all her answers for him. Dominic finally appeared. “Morning all!”, He said smiling. They sat down in conference room with their boss and went over their large cases and how they would get them passed. Standish was impressed with Charlotte as always. “Your both ready I believe”, Charlotte said leaving them at 5pm. “Don’t owl for a month at least”, Charlotte said and she turned her work cell phone into their boss. She made it home by 6pm. Just then Henry came home also via the floo. “Hi babe”, Henry said, “I am so hungry”, Charlotte said to him laying down on their sofa.
While Charlotte and Henry went to dinner out near their home in London a break in was occurring in Diagon Alley. Freddy was working at the shop that night. He had just sent Verity home for the day. Freddy was carrying boxes and shorting items for replacement on the shop floor. The men stood outside in a line ready to hit the store.WWW joke shop had a lots of protection on it. The wards were up but the four men got through them and the glass outside vanished. Freddy came out of the back and all the lights were out. “Hello?”, He called out. He could hear movement while his eye adjusted to the low light. He got his wand out and walked slowly to the front. He saw dark shapes move through the store. “Hello?”, He called out again. Just then a blast almost hit him. He ducked down and shot back. The fighting continued for a few minutes at most then the group was gone. He ran after them and noticed he was outside the shop now. It was dark outside also the lamps were out in the alley. The men were gone. Some other shops owners were outside also. Lamps came back on from others wands. “Freddy are you ok ?”, Asked Mr. Mason owner of the clothing shop of robes and suits. “Yeah yeah”, He looked around frantically now looking for the men. “I think they hit multiple places”, Said Mr. Mason. “Have you called the Auror department? Anyone call the Aurors?”, Freddy asked as the group gathered in front of the joke shop now as it was the biggest shop in this area of alley. He shot his wand up in the air-red sparks flying. Aurors started showing up now. Freddy sent his message to his Uncle Harry also. “Multiple break-ins come quick to the shop, I called the department also, I think others may have called them in also!”, his bobcat said inside the Potter kitchen. “Oh my!”, Ginny said from her seat eating dinner. “Stay here, lock up”, Harry said kissing her goodbye. Ginny sat in the kitchen with Barney. Harry had thankfully taken him for a walk already.
