Amethyst's Birthday
In the wake of the Deatheaters, there was one Slytherin that stood out from the rest of those who believed in the Pureblood Supremacy movement. Santiago Nightshade, a pureblood slytherin who was not like the rest of his people, he believed that anyone should learn. Not just pureblooded, and this caused issues because he was brought forward to the death eaters.
Santiago had entered a chamber where stood many robed figures, they looked at him with hate in their eyes but Santiago showed no amusement to their stares. Although there was one woman who caught his attention, he could tell that she didn’t want to be there, she was terrified. That woman would later become his wife due to this very same night that happened.
When Voldemort stated “Who dares to come forward in our presence, a forsaken pureblood like you… I should have your kind eliminated” which Santiago was unafraid of him. Santiago stated “Yea well, you can’t do that Voldemort, we both know that I am a master dueler”. Voldemort stated “We’ll see about that… Avada Kedavra” and he used the killing curse.
Santiago had easily deflected the curse which he said “Remember Voldemort, I studied the Dark Arts as well Defense against the Dark Arts” and the two embarked on a Duel. But it ended when Santiago proved his strength against Voldemort and the other death eaters got ready. Santiago was ready to take them on but Voldemort stated “Stand down… he’s earned his life… for now”.
Santiago then said “You leave me alone, all of you if you wish to live” and he began to walk out of the place now which Voldemort stated “We’ll be after you some day Santiago”. Santiago replied “I’ll be waiting for you to show up Voldemort” and he disappeared, although he was followed now. One person followed him certainly without the other deatheater’s or voldemort knowing.
When Santiago arrived to his own mansion, he heard someone coming up behind him and he turned around ready to duel once more but he seen the same woman. All he said was “Oh it’s just you. Why did you follow me back here now? Here to finish the job I see”. The woman said “No… I’ve been trying to leave the cult but… I’ve been too afraid to leave them”.
Santiago sighed and he said “Alright come in.. Besides the death eaters don’t dare to show up on my estate grounds due to the fact that I have mastered the dueling arts”. With that being said, Estrella had disappeared from the death eater cult entirely even though still tattooed with the mark. That was their introduction and what would later lead up to the present tale.
Ten years later, and it was their daughter’s eleventh birthday, both Santiago and Estrella were sitting together discussing something when their daughter, Amethyst had come downstairs. Estrella stated “Seems like our little slytherin has awoken from her sleep”. Santiago had chuckled in response and he said “Right, well It’s about time because I got this from our Owl”.
Santiago had held up an envelope and Estrella stated “Oh I see that they finally sent a letter in regards” which Santiago nodded a bit before he said “Of course”. Amethyst had walked into the kitchen where her parents were discussing some stuff. Santiago stated “Ah there you are, you got something in the mail” as Amethyst asked “What is it?”.
Santiago chuckled and he said “Why don’t you open it” and he gave his daughter the envelope, which Amethyst had gone to open the letter now and as she read it. ‘Dear Ms. Nightshade, we are pleased to state that you’ve been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry’. Amethyst stated “And its for me” and her father replied “Of course, you are around that age to go to Hogwarts”.
Amethyst continued to read the letter and she said “Huh.. how the hell am I supposed to get all of these things” and Santiago chuckled as he looked at Estrella now. Estrella stated “It seems like we are going to Diagon Alley now” and Santiago nodded now. Before he said “You sure you want to go estrella, people still know about… Y’know” as Estrella replied “i’ll be going”.
She added “It’s my daughter, besides she’s going to hogwarts and its something I don’t want to forget, us getting her supplies is a big event especially for her first year”. Santiago nodded a bit and he said “Well, we’ll head to diagon tomorrow morning. We should enjoy the time we have”. However there was a knock on the door and Santiago gone to answered it.
His sister was there and Santiago stated “Damn thought you’d never show up, Gryffindor” which his sister said “Just because we were split into different houses, doesn’t mean I hate you”. As his sister walked into the house now with her son, Azure and the two seen Amethyst and Estrella. Santiago had followed behind, Azure then said “Ah my little cousin” and he sat down with Amethyst.
Azure was in his early 20s when his cousin got accepted to Hogwarts, and he said “Happy birthday amethyst” and Amethyst replied “Thank’s cousin”. Meanwhile Estrella had looked at Azure and his mother before she said “Yes it is rather nice to see you two again”. Of course Santiago’s sister said “how is he still married to a woman like you” and Santiago stated “Sister how many times”.
Santiago stated “If you’re here to decide to talk bad about the people that I call family, let alone the same woman that I married.. I do not appreciate your attitude”. Santiago’s sister never liked Estrella, especially due to the fact that she was formerly a deatheater. But it did not mean that Estrella was exactly like the cult members, in fact Estrella hated the cult, she only joined it to live.
Santiago gone and sat down with his wife and he said “Besides.. I love Estrella for the woman that she is, and I don’t judge her for her past” and that was all that matters to him. However Azure then said “either way, I brought some of my own gifts for Amethyst”. Azure gone back outside to go grab them from their vehicle, he had a modified version of of a 55 Chevy Convertable.
While he was busy doing this, Estrella then said “Amethyst why don’t you go outside. Me and your father need to discuss with your aunt about something”. Amethyst nodded and went outside, and then Estrella said “What the fuck were you doing.. I have nothing against you Savanna”. Savanna stated “your a damn death eater that’s the issue, my brother would never”.
Santiago stated “She is not a damn death eater, unlike the death eaters.. She was terrified on the things that the cult was doing, stop associating her with them”. Savanna then gone and exposed Estrella’s tattoo on her arm and she said “She has their mark.. She’s one of them”. Estrella shoved Savanna and hid her arm, she stated “I am not one of them”.
Savanna then said “I don’t understand how he can love you” and she got up before she said “If your gonna continue to love this… creature I don’t see you as my brother”. Santiago then stood up and he said “Then I don’t see you as my sister.. Im cutting you off from the family vault”. Savanna argued “You can’t do that I am still a nightshade” Santiago replied “It was my inheritance”.
He added “Our parents gave me the vault in their will, As far as I’m concerned… Im the only Slytherin in our family that is worthy of the name Nightshade”. Savanna walked out of the house and she said “I hope you rot in hell Santiago” and Santiago replied “I’ll see you there”. It was never fully understood why Savanna hated Estrella, especially after Estrella denounced the cult.
But at this moment it wasn’t the matter of the backstory, it was the matter of well, now it was time for the two to focus on their daughter, Estrella and Santiago had a lot on their plate. Especially when it comes to them going to Diagon Alley, but they were going to be expecting a lot. It was just a matter on what was going to happen right there.
