Seven (Sirius´s Version)

☆2.Seven☆

Soon after returning from his weekly quidditch training session, Sirius went for a quick shower and ended up lying on his bed, sighing dramatically every now and then.

His whole day was shit, it couldn't possibly get any worse. Not even the heated game of quidditch had been able to help him blow off his steam. He was angry, exhausted and frustrated.

He hadn't been able to get a good night's sleep in the past couple of days, memories combined with his worries about Remus, who wasn't quite feeling all too well at the moment, were keeping him up at night.

Then a Letter written by his parents was delivered this morning, telling their son about how disappointed they remain and what he has to be prepared for when he needs to return at some point, after he messes up with the Potters as well. They didn't bother writing very often anymore, but once in a while, to make sure that he continues to remember how much of a disgrace he is. He normally didn't care about the letters, just threw them out of the window or burned them in the trash without even looking at them, but sometimes he couldn't help but open one of them, just having the need to get himself even angrier and more worked up than he already is, to have even more reasons that makes him hate them.

Additionally, he also came across and observed his brother at dinner, they exchanged their usual glance. He was well aware that he would never agree to follow his steps and leave his relatives, as he was still intoxicated and blinded by their words. Sirius finds himself afraid of the thought that Regulus is going to align himself with them and take their values and beliefs too far, afraid of the possibility that the day comes when his robes are pulled up and a tattoo on his wrist would be revealed. He desperately hopes that it will never get that far.

Not just all that but he also knows that he definitely won't hear from his boyfriend that day, as this one is rather spending his spare time in the school library studying, doing homework and then has to go directly to the infirmary after. It's a full moon today.

Sirius stopped by and visited him shortly before his training, even was willing to cancel this week's one, just wanting to see him and how he's doing, but Remus already not feeling particularly good, plus being overly sensitive, stressed and emotional like most of the times before a full moon, was not in the type of mood for his fretting partner.

They had a bit of an argument, Sirius just wanting to take care of him and Remus just wanting to be left alone, every little sound making the young werewolf annoyed to the point where he snapped at Sirius.

And where the fuck are his other friends, they hadn't shown up at the dormitory after training ended. James always seemed to have so much boundless energy to spare right after practice, and Peter greatly enjoyed spending time around him when he's that way, so it wasn't that unusal for them to still roam around the castle.

Did they just all mutually agreed on abandoning him today?

One of them even took the map, either way it could have been Remus not wanting to get found, or it might have been the other two on their way to come up with some smaller mischief.

They all were Idiots, and he was mad at them, but he also loved them wholeheartedly.

He can't wait for them to finish school, they all agreed on the idea of sharing an apartment, James, Remus, Peter and him. It wouldn't change a whole lot given the fact that they already share a room for most of the year and James and him even over the holidays.

He was very fond of the idea of not having to live entirely on his own and knew that the others were happy to live with him too. A memory of him and Remus talking, before he had left his home to run away, rushed through his mind

“I think my house is haunted” Sirius had impulsively blurted out, just saying whatever gone through his thoughts, while they were out on the astronomy tower. Smoking in secret, seeing as James was determined to make it his challenge to get them to quit the nasty habit that year.

“Hm?” Remus just hummed around the cigarette, looking at him intrigued

“Everyone is always mad, I don't want to go back, they are out of their minds, Moony! stone-cold crazy” He muttered, his stomach tightening as he thought of having to go back

“I think you should come live with me” The brunette just nodded with ease, his eyes worried but his smile assuring, knowing that what his opponent needs isn't pity or sentimentally.

“With you and your Parents? Remus, I hate to tell you this, but your house is a little haunted too” Sirius answered back with a sarcastic smirk, knowing Remus parents weren't the most caring either.

“Yeah it probably is, I guess hiding you in the closet wouldn't be a good solution to that...didn't work the first time you tried that” Remus shot back, rolling his eyes, grinning “we could run away together, and then...”

Sirius rolled his eyes too, scoffing, eyebrows raised, “and then what?”

Remus paced around the room, his eyes wandering around, spotting a small portrait of a boat sailing in dark water “We could be pirates?” he quickly said out loud the first thing that had come to his mind.

“Pirates?”

“Then you won't have to cry or hide in the closet” a bright smile on his face, definitely intending to keep on playing his part

“we would spend our future together, by roaming the seas as free pirates, exploring the waters in a silly little ship?” Sirius automatically returns playfully back, an amused smile brightening on his face as he chuckles amused

Remus smile got brighter too as he tugged Sirius with him into this, continuing, “you could bring your guitar”

“And what? Sing old folk songs?” he scoffed

“Make your own, pass them on” Remus challenged, smirking in mockery

“Pff, I'll write you cheesy love songs to ensure that our love will be passed on!” Sirius, eyes sparkling, his mind distracted away from his anxious thoughts for a moment.

“You're foolish” Remus said chuckling, not meaning it

“Love you to the moon and to Saturn” Sirius replied gleefully in a sing-song voice, meaning every word.

A few minutes of comfortable silence passed

“I feel like the next time it starts to get really bad I will run away to James house, he and his parents assured I could always take refuge there” he mumbled thoughtfully, having calmed down now, smashing the burned out cigarette into the sole of his shoe

“yeah, you should do that, they pretty much adopted you anyway” Remus had flashed him an encouraging smile and pulled him into his arms

And so he did. It got out of hand just as it always did over the summer, so he picked up the pre packed bag that he always hid for emergencies and made his way to the potters, crying outside of their front door, nose bloody and a dark bruise around his eye.

The potters immediately took him in and kept assuring him that he was welcome to stick around as long as he needed to, already having become a part of their family and telling him that they had always wanted to have more children. What his family lacked of warmth, the potters definitely seemed to possess infinite.

Sirius got tired of his memories after a short while, not wanting to be thinking about his relatives anymore. James and Peter were still not back, so he got up to go look for them, possibly venting at them a little bit.

He strolled through the empty hallways, humming to himself and occasionally kicking his foot right into the wall, cussing when it hurt him more than it did the wall, getting even more angry.

After about twenty minutes of doing so, he bumped into a likewise grumpy Snape, who just stood there, glaring at him like Sirius was the source of all of his problems, and he most certainly was to some degree.

“Going off again today?” The Slytherin scowls, looking at him with suspicion, he has been starting to follow them around for a little over four months now, spreading conspiracy theories about what they might hide after he caught them sneaking out in the middle of the night.

Sirius just narrows his eyes. He doesn't have the energy to deal with this right now. He tightly clenched his fists; normally he would probably just ignore him. But with all the anger in him and no one there to stop him this time, his anger levels were rapidly rising and his normal brain function was sinking.

“Something's not right with Lupin. I am aware of that, he sometimes sneaks out alone and I will prove that he's not as great as everyone thinks he is! You should really confess to me what you know, black. or do you want to get expelled too, the moment his dirty truth happens to come out?” Snape provoked him, definitely aware of the mood Sirius was already in, wanting him to crumble, explode, and give him what he wanted.

“Shut up, Snivellius.” The emotional boy really tried to hold back and already started walking away from him.

“You are just like your family; even worse, at least they don't pretend to be good. I will get you and your scumbag friends out of here. The blood traitors will hopefully get banned from using magic at all.
And Lupin, pah, halfbloods have just as much dirt in their veins as mudbloods. He won't have a chance when he gets kicked out, no one wants that ugly son of a bitch anyway” snape keeps talking harshly, making Sirius stop in his tracks

He gets extremely furious, his mind clouded. Not only does he take shots at his upbringing, but he was also threatening and cursing his friends.

"You want to see how much of my parents I am?” He moves back closer to snape, fist tightly gripping the green tie, his mind speeding like a wild lion on the hunt, looking for the first thing that comes to his thoughts that could get snape in trouble.

"Maybe you should visit the shrinking shriek today, when the sun is down and the moon is bright” Sirius scowlingly suggests. “I hear a lot of whispers that ghosts are living there, or perhaps other monsters... I heard you whisper, too. Don't you want to prove your theory" he whispers dangerously, taking a great example of acting like his maniac cousin

He knows he's making a mistake, but he chooses to suppress his second-guessing thoughts, solely because he's so furious.

“And how would I get past the willow?” snape pokes more, struggling against his grip, knowing he has Sirius exactly where he wants him. This has to be where their secret is kept.

Sirius then spills, offering him the easiest way to get past it.

In his mind, it wasn't Remus; it wasn't Moony he was using as a weapon, but merely a dark creature. A mere toy that he could use to scare snape off.

He lets go of snape with a sharp glare, and laughs quietly. Snape would get past it, but he was far from brave enough to really get close to it, the whirling noise would surely keep him away.

Sirius stomps back to the dorm, not caring about anything. Instead, he wanted to punch something, regretting not having done it to snape.

Once entering the dorm room, he takes a deep breath.

Seeing James and Peter sitting there playing a game of cards, till they both look up at his entrance.

"Are you okay, mate?” James asks in his usual considerate way.

His mind slowly finds its way back to earth, and it all comes crashing down— what he just did and said.

Sirius wished he had just punched Snape instead.
