Andy was on the Engine 23 on the way to her call when her phone rung. It was Meredith. Her wife never called during shit at list it was an emergency so she awsered. " Hi angel is everything okay? I'm on my way to a call"
Andy couldn't hear Meredith's labored breath over. " I think - I think I'm your call. I- The Car- it fell down -".
Andy felt her stomach drop as she processed Meredith’s words. Her grip on the radio tightened, and for a second, the world seemed to blur around her.
“Mer? Mer, stay with me,” Andy said, forcing her voice to stay calm even as panic clawed at her chest. “Are you hurt? Can you move?”
“I—” Meredith coughed, and Andy heard a sharp inhale. “I don’t know. My leg—hurts. I—” Her voice wavered. “The heart. The cooler—I can't see."
Andy’s training kicked in. She turned to her crew. “That was my wife. She’s our call.”
The firefighters on Engine 23 straightened, understanding flashing across their faces.
“Dispatch, this is Captain Herrera with Station 23,” Andy said into the radio, her voice sharp and controlled. “The patient in the vehicle is Dr. Meredith Grey. She’s trapped, possible leg injury. She’s transporting a donor heart—status unknown.”
“Copy that, 23. Station 19 is en route with Engine 19 and Truck 19.”
Andy exhaled sharply. “Meredith, listen to me. We’re coming. I need you to stay awake, okay?”
Meredith let out a shaky breath. “Okay.”
The engine rounded a curve, and suddenly, Andy could see it—the wreckage at the bottom of the cliff. The hospital SUV was upside down, the front end crumpled against the rocky ground. Smoke curled from the engine.
Andy’s heart pounded.
“Shit,” one of her firefighters muttered.
“ 19 is two minutes out,” Dispatch informed her.
Andy got off the Engine before even stopped.
The haven was so narrow she couldn't see the bottom. She wanted just go down there but Meredith need her to be a Capitain right now. She needed a solid plan. Was than that Engine 19 and Truck 19 parked. Maya was the first one to get off the rig with Beckett on her heels.
Maya put her hand on Andy's shoulder. " Capitan what is the plan?"
Was than that they saw Cheif Ross. " Captain Grey are you go to command the scene?"
Andy nooded. " Yes Chief. Ladder 23 I need a elevation rescue basket with a back board. We can't bring a patient down by foot in this conditions. Bishop you and Ruiz go down first and stabilize the car. Diaz Maddox I need equipment to be rappel down. Montogomey, Gary to assist rescue
Warren you go down with Sullivan for med evac after rescue is down. Duval, Larson set a perimeter.
Warren shook his head. " Captain we should just go down we can't wait to-"
Andy cut her off. " Warren you are not going to put my wife's life at risk because you want to play the hero. Get ready for med evac and shut up! If you try any cowboy moves and this goes south is not just your career you will have to worry about now stop waisting my time!"
Warren didn't say anything else as the team stated to move. Maya and Ruiz were the first ones down. As soon as the reached the car Maya spoke up. " Mer we are here. We are going to stabilize the car so we can get you out. Ruiz check for gas like I'm going to kill the engine. "
Ruiz nodded. " Go gas leaks. "
Maya nodded back. " Engine is dead lest move. Meredith are you with me?"
Meredith replied in a weak voice. " Yes. You need- to- be- fast. My circulation is staring to get compromised. "
Maya bit her lip. " We are moving as fast as we can. "
As soon as the car was secured Maya pressed her radio. " Cap care is secured. "
Andy replied. " I'm sending Montogomey and Gary down the equipment is on its way. How is she doing?"
Maya aproched the car window. " Banged up but responsive. I will let you talk to her. "
Maya pressed her radio so Meredith could talk to her wife. " Hi princesa. Teddy and Heyes - the heart-"
Andy cut her off. " Babe they were probably taken to the hospital. I think they took the heart just foucus on staying wake. I have to make sure everything runs smoothly. Just keep talking to Bishop. Te amo mi ángel. "
Meredith replied her voice berley a whisper. " Te amo princesa. "
Maya scaned Meredith for injuries. " Can you tell what your injuries are ?"
Meredith looked at her. " Possible broken ribs- hard to breathe. My- leg is pined - bleeding bad- circulation- not good. "
Before Maya could say anything Momtogonery and Gary aproched them with equipment. Maya got on Leuitent mode.
" Okay let's move fast! We are going to cut off and roof. Get me the jaws. Let's move fast!"
Than Maya looked back at Meredith. " This is going to be load."
Meanwhile on the top of the clifft Andy was pacing. " Warren, Sullivan go down! Ladder get that rescue basket ready to go down! "
The Firefighter's moved fast as Andy fought to keep her emotions in check. Every minute felt like hours. " Ladder get the rescue basket down. Bishop report!"
Back to the bottom of the cliff.
Maya pressed her radio. " The roof is off we are ready for extraction. She is responsive. "
Maya grabbed Meredith's hand. " I know you are in pain but we are getting you out. "
Andy’s grip on the radio tightened as she listened to the updates. Every second that passed felt agonizingly slow.
“Copy that,” Andy responded, forcing her voice to remain steady. “Warren, Sullivan, get her stabilized and ready for the basket. Bishop, I need a full report on her vitals.”
Down at the wreck, Maya kept a firm grip on Meredith’s hand. “Okay, Mer, we’re almost there. We’re going to secure your spine before we move you.”
Meredith let out a weak breath, her eyelids fluttering. “Just… get me out.”
“You got it, Grey,” Maya said, signaling to Warren and Sullivan, who were already unpacking medical gear.
Ben quickly assessed Meredith’s injuries, his brow furrowing. “She’s tachycardic. BP is low. That leg is crushed—tourniquet now.”
Maya’s stomach clenched. . “Do it.”
Warren moved swiftly, wrapping the tourniquet just above the injury. Meredith let out a strangled cry, her body arching in pain.
“Mer, I know it hurts,” Maya soothed. “ But we need to stop the bleeding form your leg. "
Meredith gave a faint nod, her breathing shallow.
“Alright, we’re ready to move her,” Warren announced. “On my count—one, two, three.”
With careful precision, they transferred Meredith onto the backboard, securing her head and neck. Sullivan and Ruiz steadied the board as Warren prepped her for the basket.
Maya pressed her radio. “Cap we’re ready to lift.”
Above, Andy let out a shaky breath. “Copy. Ladder 23, hoist her up slow and steady. No sudden movements.”
The ropes tightened, and the basket began its ascent. Andy moved toward the edge, watching as her wife was carefully lifted from the wreckage.
“Come on, baby,” Andy whispered under her breath, willing Meredith to hold on.
Finally, the basket reached the top. Andy rushed forward, grabbing Meredith’s cold hand the medics moved to check on her. "
Andy nodded, pushing Meredith’s hair back from her face. “You did so good, Mer. You’re safe now.”
Meredith’s eyes barely opened. “Did… we save the heart?”
Andy let out a soft, breathless laugh, even as her eyes burned with unshed tears. “Of course that’s what you’re worried about.”
Meredith’s lips twitched weakly.
“The ambulance is ready,” a paramedic called.
Andy squeezed Meredith’s hand. “I’m coming with you.”
Chief Ross stepped up beside her. “ Go be with your wife you did a great job today. "
Andy climbed into the ambulance, never letting go of Meredith’s hand. As the doors shut, she whispered, “I’ve got you, Mer. I’m right here.”
And as the sirens blared, she held on tighter.
Inside the Aid Car. " Captain her BP is still dropping. "
Andy squeezed Meredith's hand. " You need to hang on babe. We will be in the hospital soon. "
Meredith was struggling to stay wake. " Give a dose of TXA. "
Andy looked at the medic. " You heard her. Give her ,7mil of TXA stat. "
As the paramedic put the drugs in Meredith's BP stated to dropping. Andy pressed her radio. " Dispatch I need to Grey Sloan to have an OR ready patient possible bleeding internally. "
After minutes that felt like hours they arrived at Grey Sloan were Miranda Bailey and Owen were waiting. ,
Andy looked up at them. " She was given 7 mil of TXA and 5 mil of Fentanyl. BP is low and she is taqueocardic. Her abdomen is dailed. "
Bailey nodded. " Let's take her straight to the OR. "
As they took Meredith Andy collapsed on a chair on the waiting room. Was than that Teddy aproched her. Andy couldn't hold back. " What the hell happened? How did this happened?"
Teddy took a deep breath. " The drive collapsed. Me and Heyes managed to get out with the heart. I didn't even realize Meredith was pinned. I'm really sorry Andy. '
Andy shook her head. " You guys getting out the way you did was what caused the car to go down that far. You probably know that. You were in the army. "
Teddy looked down to the ground. " Andy she told me she was right behind us. I never knew she was trapped until now! I was scared she had fallen out of the car while she was getting out. "
Andy took a deep breath. " I'm sorry - I'm just really scared. Where are Amelia and Lexie?"
Was than that the duo walked in. " Andy how is her ,?"
Andy shook her head. " In sergury. It'd bad Lexie. She was bleeding internally. "
Lexie sat down next to Andy. " She is going to make it. She has too. "
Amelia sat next to Lexie and put her arm around her sister's shoulder. " Mer is strong and stubborn. She is going to be just fine. "
At Station 19
Mays walked into the conference room to find Carina talking to Vic. " It was Meredith. Our call it was Meredith. It's bad. Really bad. "
Carina pulled Maya into her arms. " You got her out. She is fighting because you and the rest of the team got her out. "
Maya let out a sob. " I'm scared car. I don't think Andy can't handle any more lost. I - the kids they -"

Vic stood up, concern etched on her face. “How bad is it?”
Maya pulled back slightly, wiping her eyes. “Internal bleeding. Crushed leg. She was barely hanging on when we got her out.”
Vic ran a hand over her face. “Poor Andy. She has went trough so much , and now this?”
Maya tightened her jaw. “She won’t lose her. She can’t lose her.”
Carina kissed Maya’s forehead softly. “We should go to the hospital. Andy will need us.”
Maya nodded, grabbing her jacke. “Yeah. Let’s go.”
After talking to Beckett Maya left the Station with Carina. As soon as the blond walked into the waiting room she kneeled Infront of Andy. " Hi why don't we get Alex from the daycare? I'm sure some time with her will help. "
Andy nodded and the duo walked to the hospital daycare. Andy grabbed her four months old daughter. " Hi pequeña. Mami missed you so much. Let's take a walk with Tia Maya. "
Maya looked at the babe. " My neice is do cute. You looked at her you wouldn't imagine was was born at an Aid Car in the middle of a Strom scaring the dead out of me. "
Andy let out a small smile. " Carina made you soft. I had an OB with me. Let's take this little one to her other aunt's or they will be jealous. "

Maya smiled at her friend. At least she was able to distract Andy for a minute. They walked back into the waiting room.
Hours later.
Alex was sleeping in Carina's arms as Andy rested her head on Maya's shoulder. Was than that Miranda Bailey walked in. " The sergury went well. We had to remove her spleen but we managed to Stop the bleeding. We also repaired the vascular damage to her leg. We still need to ran a CT scan to rule out brain injury but her vitals are good. "
Andy let out a breath of relief. " When can I see her ?"
Bailey looked at Andy. " We she is back from radiology. "
Amelia stepped in. " How is the neurologist on her case? Because me and Lexie are here and Derek is not even on this hospital. "
Bailey turned to Amelia. " Dr. Kornick is handling the case. But you are free to consult if you want too "
Amelia nodded. " Yes I want to. Lexie come with me "
As the walked way Andy let out a deep breath. " I just want to see my wife. "
Maya ran her fingers through Andy's hair. " You will soon. Meredith is going to be okay ."
Andy didn't say anything else it didn't take long for Amelia and Lexie to get back. " Her scans are clear. They are getting her settled in ICU. "
Andy nooded. Didn't take long before a nurse aproched them. " Captain Grey, you can see you wife. "
Andy walked into Meredith's room to find her wife looking small and pale. "She took her wife's hand and squeezed. " Hi mi ángel. I love you so much. I'm just glad you are going to be okay. You really scared me this time. I will step back for a minute so your sisters can see you but I will be right back. "
As Andy stepped out Maya was waiting for her. " You need to eat something. You can't help Meredith if you collapse. Me and Carina will handle the kids. I know you want to me with your wife but let me take you home so you can shower, eat and see your children. Derek will drop them off before his shift starts. "
Andy nodded she didn't want to leave her wife but her kids needed her.
At Andy's and Meredith's home
After Andy of off the shower she changed than went to the kitchen to find Carina cooking. " I made some carbonara. Eat you you need your energy. "
Andy sat on the table. " Thank you Carina. "
Andy had just finished eating when the kids walked in she got up to hug them. " Hi mi amores. You Mom is hurt but I promise you she is going to be okay. You guys stay with your Tias so I can be with your mom."
Zola was the first one to speak. " You don't need to worry about us Mami. Just take care of Mom. When can we see her?"
Andy crouched down to Zola’s level, brushing a hand over her daughter’s curls. “Hopefully tomorrow, baby.”
Bailey shifted closer, his brows furrowed in worry. “Is she in a lot of pain?”
Andy ruffed Bailey hair. " They are giving her meds so she won't feel much pain."
Ellis tugged on Andy’s sleeve, her big blue eyes brimming with tears. “I want Mommy.”
Andy’s heart clenched. She pulled Ellis into her lap, pressing a kiss to her temple. “I know, baby. But she needs to stay in the hospital so she can get better. "
Maya, standing nearby, spoke gently. “You guys are going to be so helpful when she comes home, right? She’s going to need a lot of love.”
Zola straightened, determination flashing across her face. “We got this.”
Bailey nodded. “I’ll help make breakfast!”
Ellis wiped her nose on Andy’s shirt. “I’ll cuddle her lots.”
Andy swallowed the lump in her throat. “She’s going to love that.” She squeezed them all tightly, letting their warmth ground her. “I need to go back to the hospital soon, but I’ll call before bed, okay?”
The kids nodded, and Zola gave Andy’s hand a reassuring squeeze. “Tell her we love her.”
Andy smiled softly. “I will.”
Maya met Andy’s eyes over the kids’ heads, silently reminding her to take care of herself too. Andy exhaled, pressing a kiss to each child’s forehead before standing. “Alright. You guys listen to your Tías, okay?”
As they chorused “Yes, Mami,” Andy turned to Maya. “Let’s go.”
Carina gave Andy a quick hug before she left. “Eat again when you’re at the hospital. No skipping meals, capito?”
Andy rolled her eyes but nodded. “Capito.”
Maya smirked. “She’s going to text you to check, you know that, right?”
Andy huffed but didn’t argue. She just grabbed her keys, taking one last look at her kids before heading out.
Because as much as she hated being away, Meredith needed her more.
At the hospital
Andy walked into Meredith's ICU room and seat on the chair next to her. Didn't take long before the doctor openned her eyes. " Hi princesa. The heart-"
Andy ran her fingers through Meredith's hair. " Teddy managed to save. I knew that was the first thing you would ask. "
Meredith blinked. " The driver?"
Andy squeezed her hand. " He died at the scene. I think whatever caused him to collapse killed him. Teddy and Heyes are okay. And you are going to be okay to. Maya and Carina are home with the kids. Training for when they have their own firehouse baby."
Meredith let out a small smile. " You were amazing out there. I don't want you to be out from work for you long. You are on the way to your promotion. "
Andy rubbed Meredith's hand with her thumb. " Babe you are more important than a rank. Right now my priority is to take care of you. "
Meredith took a pregnant pause. " I have my sisters. You are going back to work when I'm relised. You need be out there being amazing and saving lives. "
Andy sighed, brushing her fingers lightly over Meredith’s knuckles. “We’ll talk about it when you’re feeling better.” She wasn’t going to argue with her wife while she was lying in a hospital bed, fresh out of surgery.
Meredith squeezed Andy's hand. " Okay. You are really my hero. "
Andy let out a small smile. ," Just doing my job babe. I love you so much. "
Meredith smiled at her wife. " I love you more. "
Later Meredith's and Andy's home
Carina was watching as Maya rocket Alex on her arms the babe was fuzzy. " You are really good with her bambina. "
Maya smiled at her wife " She really does like me. I can't help but think about how is going to be when we have our own little one. It scares me a little. "
Carina smiled back at her. " Bambina you are going to be an amazing mama. You are a natural with Andy's kids. "
Maya shifted Alex slightly in her arms, brushing a thumb over the baby's soft cheek. "It's just... I didn't exactly have the best example growing up," she admitted quietly.
Carina stepped closer, placing a gentle hand on Maya’s arm. "I know, amore. But you are not your father. You have a such beautiful heart. I'm sure our kids will grow up knowing they are loved. "
Maya let out a breath she didn’t realize she was holding. "I hope so. I don’t ever want to make them feel the way I did."
Carina pressed a kiss to her temple. "And you won’t. You are always there for the people you love bambina. "
Maya nodded, still watching Alex with a thoughtful expression. "I guess we’ll figure it out together, huh?"
Carina smiled warmly. "Exactly. And Andy and Meredith’s kids already adore you. Amelia is always complying they perfer you. "
Maya chuckled. " Well I'm definitely their favorite."
Carina took Alex from Maya’s arms, cradling the baby close. "You are going to be amazing, my love."
Maya watched her wife, feeling warmth spread through her chest. "I can’t wait for our turn."
Carina leaned in, pressing their foreheads together. "Me neither."
As the two stood there, wrapped in quiet anticipation for their future, the soft sound of Alex's breathing filled the space between them—a small, beautiful reminder of the family they were already building.
At the next day
Meredith woke up to find and seating on the chair next to her bed. " Morning princesa. You should go home. Get some rest and spend time with the kids. "
Andy shook her head. " No. I'm not leaving you. I'm start to think you don't want me around"
Meredith sighed, giving Andy a tired but affectionate look. “Don't be silly. You know that’s not true.”
Andy reached for Meredith’s hand, rubbing soothing circles against her skin. “Then stop telling me to leave. I want to be here.”
Meredith squeezed Andy’s hand weakly. “I know, baby. But you haven’t slept, you’ve barely eaten, and I don’t want you to stop taking care of yourself. "
Andy exhaled, her jaw tightening. “ I almost lost you Mer. I just need to be close. "
Meredith studied her for a long moment before sighing in defeat. “At least take a nap. Lie down with me.”

Meredith's and Andy's home
Maya was sprawled on the couch, Zola and Bailey leaning against her while Ellis lay half on her chest. Carina walked in, with Alex in her arms. “I see you have been claimed.”
Maya smirked. “They love me. Can’t help it.”
Ellis yawned. “We love you a lot Tia Maya.”
Maya ran her fingers through Ellis's hair. " And I love you guys very much. "
Carina chuckled, walking over and pressing a kiss to Maya’s forehead. “I told you are great with kids.”
Maya grumbled, but she didn’t move. She just held the kids closer, feeling something settle deep in her chest. She wasn’t a mother yet, but she knew—when the time came—she would be ready.
