The following day,Remus woke up to a gentle brushing on his arm.He opened his eyes slowly,being greeted by a familiar smile as Lily sat on Remus' bed just beside him.Since alarms were a useless thing for him to have in Remus' opinion,Lily usually wakes Remus up with a soft touch or a gentle pat so as not to scare him awake,when she knows he has somewhere to be.
Remus gave her a soft,tired smile before shifting to rest his head on her lap.Once thing about Remus is although he can't hear and rarely ever actually talks out loud,is that he hates mornings and it is very visibly obvious.Lily laughed,Remus felt it.She gently tapped her finger against the side of Remus' head,just over his temple and watched as he opened his eyes again.
"you can't just stay here all day" Lily spoke,making sure to over pronounce her words due to the fact that Remus wouldn't be able to see her sign from his angle.He just nodded his head,closing his eyes again.Lily chuckled again and this time Remus opened his eyes again,huffing a breath before pulling himself to sit up,opposite Lily.
What do you have to do after speech therapy? lily signed and Remus rubbed his eyes tiredly.Gonna go to the library.Study. he signed back and Lily raised an eyebrow at him.What? remus crossed his arms waiting for Lily's response.It's summer. lily signed but Remus just shrugged.She smiled at him warmly before tapping his leg to get his attention again.Are you going to the coffee shop again? lily asked and Remus nodded through a yawn.The coffee was amazing,surprisingly. remus watched as Lily smirked,knowing what was coming next probably wasn't good.As amazing as the hot barista? lily smirked,laughing as remus went red.I never said he was hot?! Remus was glaring at her now but she didn't budge.So,you don't think he's hot? Remus settled back against his headboard,shrugging i never said that either he signed,a small smile growing on his face.
Remus eventually got up and headed to the coffee shop,enjoying the short walk in the morning sunlight.He didn't have speech therapy until 11 and it was currently only 9:30 but he decided to squash two of his tasks into one and take his laptop to the coffee shop with him and study there.
When Remus walked into the coffee shop,his eyes went immediately to the counter,seeing a tall blonde girl serving a customer.Remus stepped forwards,pulling his phone out of his jeans pocket so he could type his order.He hated having to type things out on his phone but unfortunately it was one of his only sources of communication with people who don't sign.When Remus looked up from his phone,he caught a sweep of black hair in the corner of his eye.Sirius was busy cleaning tables,a hand towel draped over his shoulder as he wiped a table down with a cloth.
The customer being served,stepped aside,signalling that he was done being served and Remus stepped forwards,standing infront of the blonde girl who smiled at him before asking the usual "hi,what can i get for you?" Remus glanced over at Sirius who stood up straight,brushing a stray hair out of his face with the back of his hand.As he did so,Sirius happened to look over at his co worker before his eyes switched to Remus.
Sirius beamed before calling something to the blonde girl."i've got this one _______" Remus didn't catch the end of the sentence,watching as Sirius made his way to the counter and standing next to the blonde girl."huh? why?" the girl questioned,though Remus noted that she still had a ghost of a smile on her face and seemed to be amused by Sirius practically bouncing over to the other side of the counter."because you're not as smart as i am" Sirius smirked and Remus smiled slightly,watching as the girl rolled her eyes playfully before smiling at Remus and walking to finish cleaning the tables.
good morning Sirius signed with a bright smile on his face,showing that he clearly had far too much energy for a morning. Good morning Remus replied before resting his hands on the counter,his fingers locked together.Same as yesterday? Remus nodded,watching as Sirius sent him a smile and began to make his drink.
So,name for the cup? Sirius had a playful smirk on his face.Remus was the only customer currently in the shop so there was no real need for his name to be written on his cup but he smiled anyways.R-e-m-u-s Sirius smiled before writing Remus' name on the side of his cup.Your name is very cool.I like it Something in Remus' stomach fluttered and he hoped and prayed to anyone listening that the blush he knew had displayed itself across his cheeks, wasn't too noticeable.So is yours.Sirius.That's the brightest star in the sky right? Sirius looked shocked,his lips parted as he looked at Remus.What? was that wrong? Sirius shook his head and Remus frowned in confusion.Not a lot of people know about the stars.They usually just hear my name and assume it's just some wierd fancyname. Remus watched Sirius' hands before moving his eyes up to lock with Sirius'.Your name isn't wierd,I like it. Remus crossed his arms,looking at Sirius,watching as a smile grew on his face. that's all that matters to me,then Sirius signed,pushing Remus' drink towards him with a wink.Remus felt his face flush and tried to switch the subject.
how much? Remus asked and Sirius just shook his head with a small smile this one's on me Remus shook his head but Sirius was already making his way from behind the counter.He walked around until he stopped infront of Remus,leaning against the counter.Thank you Remus signed and Sirius smiled before winking and walking over to help his friend with cleaning the tables.
Remus sat at one of the tables that had already been cleaned,setting his laptop on the table infront of him.He managed to get quite a lot of studying done until a figure blocked the sunlight from infront of him.He looked up,nudging his glasses up his nose as he looked up at Sirius.He smiled when he saw him and politely shook his head when the other boy asked if he wanted anything getting.what? Remus signed,a confused smile on his face as he looked up at Sirius who seemed to be staring at him,his lips parted ever so slightly.Sirius blinked and Remus could have sworn he had seen a faint blush creeping onto the other boys face.Nothing,sorry.I just- i like your glasses.They're cute. Now it was Remus' turn to blush,thanking Sirius with a smile.
