Head over heels?
Sirius woke up to his bedroom door swinging open,making him jolt awake as the door made contact with the wall behind it."Jesus fucking christ Regulus,You nearly took my door off it's hinges.What the fuck are you two doing?" Sirius rambled,relaxing back against his head board."That pissing phone alarm has been going off for the past hour.An Hour Sirius!! why is it that your phone,that is placed beside your fucking head wakes everyone else in the apartment up,except you?" Regulus stood in the doorway to Sirius' room,one hand placed flat on Sirius' door as he glared right at his brother.James stood behind Regulus,a hand on his waist as he attempted to pull him back away from Sirius' room."come on,love.He's up now" James tried to ease the situation,gently pulling Regulus back towards their shared bedroom."Doesn't bring back my sleep though,does it" Regulus mumbled,allowing himself to be guided back to bed.
Sirius followed his usual morning routine ending with him and James walking to work,Where James unlocked the shop allowing the pair to stroll in.Once everything was set up,the boys did a few jobs,talking between themselves until 8 o'clock came around and Sirius flipped the closed sign to show off that the shop was now open to passers by.
"oh shit,will you run and grab some more milk from down the street?" James asked,handing Sirius some money as he nodded,taking his apron off.The walk to the shop only took a few minutes but the shop owner took a liking to Sirius and usually stopped him for a chat every time he showed his face in the shop.After 5 minutes,Sirius rushed his way out of the shop,shouting a cheery goodbye to the cashier and making his way back down to the shop.
Sirius had probably only been gone for 15 minutes maximum but he was shocked to see a familiar figure stood to the side of the counter while James served the growing line of customers.Sirius handed James the milk over the counter before making his way over to Remus.With a bright smile,Sirius placed a gentle hand on Remus' forearm,letting the boy know he was there without startling him.Although,Sirius couldn't tell if he had succeeded in not startling him or not because Remus immediately looked up,his face pulled into a frown.
not excited to see me today? Sirius joked and Remus' face eased,a smile replacing his previous frown.has James took your order? Sirius asked,looking to see if Remus had a drink.Remus shook his head with a small smile and Sirius looked up slightly at him.He paused,frowning at the other boy while tilting his head to the side slightly.What? Remus asked,a confused frown now on his face too. Have you always been this tall? Sirius asked i swear you weren't this tall yesterday Remus laughed silently before looking down at Sirius with a raised eyebrow.Have you always been this small? Sirius' jaw dropped and he placed a hand on his chest,faking offense.i'm average height for my age thank you very much Sirius crossed his arms,his usual playful smirk returning.
Sirius watched as Remus looked back at him with a confused frown and you are how old? Sirius' smile returned as he watched Remus' hands,his eyes flicked back up to his before he replied.i'm nineteen and i'm 5'10. Sirius answered,somehow guessing Remus' next question.Well,i'm nineteen also.But i am very much not 5'10 Remus watched as Sirius laughed before tilting his head to the side and looking at Remus.How tall are you? Remus rolled his eyes playfully,watching the way Sirius stayed focused on him. 6'3 i believe. Sirius' jaw dropped open for the second time,making Remus smile.
Oh wait,why haven't you been served? not fancy anything? Sirius signed only to then realise that Remus was watching the line at the counter,get smaller.Sirius caught his attention again,by placing a soft hand on Remus' bicep,letting it linger for a second as Remus looked back at him.Sorry,what did you say? Remus asked,looking slightly embarassed.Don't apologise,do you want a drink? you said James hadn't served you right? Remus nodded yeah,i typed and told him i'd just wait for you,if that's alright Sirius felt a small blush creep onto his face,turning to look at the line which now consisted of one man who James was passing a drink to.Yeah,of course.Find a seat and i'll bring it to you? same order? Now it was Remus' turn to blush and Sirius watched his cheeks dust pink before walking over to James.
"ah there you are.Thought you'd quit and ran off with your new boyfriend" James teased with a wink."ha-ha very funny dickhead" Sirius rolled up his hand towel as he spoke and flicked it,catching James' bicep."ow! arse" James laughed and moved to stand against the back counter top wtahcing Sirius begin to make Remus' drink."he's cute" James nodded,his arms crossed over his chest as he watched Remus who was currently scrolling across his phone."i know" Sirius replied without even looking up from making Remus' drink."you like him" Sirius turned around with a sigh,crossing his own arms over his chest and looking over at Remus."Yeah.But i obviously don't want to make him uncomfortable" Sirius shrugged and James nodded,listening intently."But he's just...i don't know.He's funny, tall, handsome obviously and i think we get on great but like i said i don't want to make him uncomfortable in any way" Sirius watched as James pushed himself to walk over to Sirius placing his hands on his shoulders.
"Sirius.My brother.My favourite person in the room.Except myself of course" Sirius burst out laughing before listening to James."i promise you, you are amazing.So Sure,get his number,he's cute as hell and you are too, you never know things may work out.Stop thinking about how things could turn out horribly and start thinking about how things would be if you just let yourself be happy" Sirius stared at James,his lips pulled tightly between his teeth.
"what? did i say something wrong? i'm-" Sirius wrapped his arms around James' neck,hugging him close to him."you said everything perfectly" Sirius whispered before pulling back and placing a hand on James' shoulder."you better finish his drink or you,lover boy will be in big trouble" James winked and Sirius huffed a laugh,turning around and returning to making Remus' drink.
Once Sirius made the drink,Remus stood up thanking him before placing the drink down on the table beside him,freeing his hands and giving Sirius the money for the drink will i be seeing you tomorrow? Sirius asked and Remus nodded with a smile. Okay,i'll see you tomorrow then Sirius smiled and Remus picked up his drink,smiling at Sirius before leaving the shop.
"oh my god,dude.You are down so bad" James barked a laugh and Sirius flipped him off as he walked to stand beside him,behind the counter."but he's just so...perfect" Sirius whined,dropping his head onto James' shoulder."he clearly likes you atleast enough to tolerate you? that's something right?" Sirius laughed,rolling his eyes."You're helpful" this of course earned a dramatic bow from James."why thank you,my lord" "you're ridiculous,too" The pair spent the last bit of their quiet time,talking while cleaning tables or wiping down the counter,although all Sirius could actually think about was the tall boy with the most perfect smile.
It was getting dark when the two boys set off walking home,the streets almost empty after their late finish.Regulus had made pasta which was waiting for them on the kitchen counter,still warm and ready to eat."have i ever told you how much i love you?" James asked through a mouthfull of pasta."mhm" Regulus hummed,distracted by the book he was currently reading."can you not? i'm going through a crisis right now" Sirius mumbled,his mouth also full of pasta."Okay,first of all can you animals please wait until you have swallowed your food before you talk? second of all,crisis? what could you possibly be in crisis about now?" Regulus asked,placing his book in his lap."Sirius is head over heels in love." James answered as Regulus lifted his legs to rest across James lap."with a deaf boy" Sirius specified."okay? why does this result in you being in crisis?" Regulus asked and Sirius placed his pasta down on the table beside his couch.
"because.He's just so perfect,And i can obviously communicate in sign language,so we talk every day when he comes into the shop and i really like him because he's cute as hell and he's funny and i don't want to make him uncomfortable but i also just want to marry him or something" Sirius rambled,finishing with a heavy sigh,sinking further into the couch."okay number 1,calm yourself down you are 19, you do not need to be getting married anytime soon and number 2, why don't you just ask him for his number?" Sirius watched Regulus with a frown on his face."because,Regulus i can't just straight up ask him" "why not?" Sirius sighed and tried to find a good reason of why he couldn't just simply ask Remus for his number."Exactly,it's not that big of a deal,just ask him for his number?" Regulus stated and Sirius groaned,covering his face with his hands.
"the sooner the better,brother.Otherwise you'll only end up getting together years down the line, knowing you liked each other from the start because someone didn't have the courage to just ask" Regulus side-eyed James who burst out laughing."You didn't ask either!" James defended but Regulus just looked over to his brother."And then,you'll be waiting even longer for that certain someone to just book his ideas up and put a ring on it,but you know" Regulus shrugged with a teasing smile as James laughed,dropping his head into his hands."we discussed this,i'm working on it" Sirius laughed as Regulus winked at him,clearly not done with the teasing just yet."Yeah,well if it's taken you 4 years to work on it i think there's something very wrong" James let out a groan and both of the brothers burst out laughing."i hate you both.You're so mean to me" Regulus stood up,ruffling James' hair before looking at Sirius."don't be a James.Just do it,who knows he could be the one" Regulus teased with a wink and Sirius laughed.
"oi wait,how come you can get married and not me.You're 18!!" Sirius yelled to Regulus who stood in the open kitchen."i'm almost 19 but i can get engaged at 18.Right Jamie?" "of course,my love" James agreed,side-eyeing Sirius as Regulus looked away.The two boys laughed silently together before Regulus turned back around."Plus you're nearly 20.You also don't have anyone to marry yet.I however have waited how long, love?" Regulus teased once again and James sighed before laughing to himself."4 years,babe" James looked back at Regulus who now stood where the kitchen and the living room merged into one."that's right.Therefore Sirius,you will not get married before me.You would not see the day because i would simply have to kill you,sorry" James and Sirius burst out laughing as Regulus returned to make himself a drink in the kitchen.
Sirius and James made their way down and across the street into their garage block where Regulus had asked them to get the table they kept in their for the living room.James flipped on the lights and the two boys looked over the clutter of furniture,boxes and who knows what else that had been stored in their since they moved in 2 years ago."oh god,i hate to think what's crawling around in here" James shuddered and Sirius laughed,stepping over some boxes to get to the table they needed.
They each grabbed a side of the coffee table,lifting it up so James could walk backwards out of the garage while Sirius climbed back over all of the boxes and unused furniture items, the pair of them still holding the table at hip height together.That was until James tripped over his own feet,stumbling backwards, pulling both the table and Sirius with him.Sirius stumbled,hitting his foot against a box before tripping over, dropping the table and landing on the floor with a crash."ow! prongs you stupid fuck!" Sirius yelled holding his arm into his chest."are you okay?" James asked as he rushed over to Sirius."No i'm not okay! how the fuck did you just trip over your own two feet?" Sirius laughed before groaning in pain.James helped Sirius to stand up before taking a look at his wrist.
"i don't think it's supposed to be that fat" James pointed out as he and Sirius walked back up to their apartment,without the table."yeah,no shit" Sirius laughed looking at his wrist which was swelling more and more.James knocked on the door and Regulus opened it frowning at the pair of them.His eyes slowly travelled to Sirius' wrist which he was holding into his chest."i'll get the keys" Regulus sighed before grabbing his keys and following the boys out to the car.It was going to be a long night.
