Chapter 1
Percy Jackson, at this point, is tired of the gods and fates bullshit. At the end of his first life, he thought he would go to meet Annabeth in Elysium, but of course, it did not happen. Instead, the gods threw him through different timelines and worlds. Most were not fun; some he had gained the curses (fuck you Kronos). While others, he lived a decent long life, like in Harry Potter or Jim Kirk. In other of his life, he died young.
He is currently in transit, as he calls it, to this new body. His last life ended with him being killed in a bombing, defeating a tyrant. To those wondering, it was not fun being burned alive, thank you very much.
He finds himself hanging from a rope, now knowing how this young soul took his life. Percy quickly cuts the rope making fall to the ground gasping for air.
He falls unconscious while his soul merges with the body's original soul, he knows his new name, Maeglin. Percy remembers Annabeth telling him about him and the books from Tolkien, who was a child of Athena.
Maeglin reminds him of Luke too much. Luke betrayed the gods because of how they treated him and the other gods. At the same time, Maeglin betrayed Gondolin because of the treatment his so-called family and citizens put him through. Both had very valid reasons, but they expressed them incorrectly. And like Luke, Maeglin was lied to by Morgoth on the false promises of family and acceptance.ll
Percy has seen and experienced many things. He also has the urge to beat the living crap out of Turgon and Idril. What do they expect? Make Maeglin, who is not even a teen, so isolated that he dies because his soul can't take the damage? Make rumors about him that are not true. For god's sake, they almost made Maeglin do an Elwingmy.
It is almost like he is back dealing with the gods and certain people from his past life. Just thinking about this makes his head hurt.
Percy throws the bedsheets aside and gets up to look around.
The room was bland, like what you expect a guest room to look like.
The only thing that Maeglin possessed was the cursed sword, Anguirel. Eol, Maeglin's father, made the sword. Percy felt the love and pride Eol had for his son. It was pretty sad to see Eol descent into madness.
Percy, with the memories of Maeglin of Eol, has more context.
Eol has PTSD and depression, which explains but doesn't excuse his treatment of Aredhel and Maeglin.
Once, a man who was a kind, caring, and stern father turned into a paranoid and possessive man. Aredhel was a free bird and didn't want to be chained to a mundane life of marrying and raising an elfling. This event didn't help Eol, who tried to avoid raising an elfling that still needed their mother. Aredhel and Eol remind Percy of Aphrodite and Hephaestus. Aredhel wanted a life of lovers and noncommitment, while Eol wanted his wife to stay and be a family.
He paused for a second, looking at the sword. Anguirel felt the same way about Riptide and the other he possessed. This sword only had two masters, Eol and Maeglin. Percy had to prove that he was worthy of wielding Anguirel since technically (damn sword) the sword doesn't accept him. Eol poured his soul into crafting this sword. But that was for another day; Percy walked to the balcony and saw the city. Gondolin was a very bright city, too bright for Percy. It was like seeing the light against the snow.
Percy averts his eyes since he is concerned for his eyesight. He sees a mirror and looks at his features. Of course, he seems like Maeglin: blank, inky hair, pale skin, and dark eyes.
With Maeglin's memories, Maeglin has a relationship with food that Percy has to fix. Percy knew (from experiance) that it would take a long time. Percy feels Maeglin's soul within his soul; Maeglin is scared, lonely, depressed, and has PTSD.
Maeglin's soul settled against him; it was like a tiny kitten hiding against its mother. Percy hides Maeglin's soul to protect it from other souls as they can be much.
Percy then lets Maeglin forge a bond with his own. Soon after numbing the bonds to Idril and the others, he breaks the bonds Maeglin has with Idril and the others which honestly were about to break any moment. The bond with king turgon was honestly horse shit (that fucker)
Percy's thoughts towards Idril, Turgon, and the citizens of Gondolin were not very pretty. Turgon is a neglectful piece of shit. Idril is a brat and expects her very young adolescent cousin to know the customs of the Noldor.
Meanwhile, the citizens and lords of Gondolin listen to and believe everything they hear. And they blame the boy for the death of his mother and the sins of his father.
Maybe it was his trauma from multiple lives; Percy sympathizes with Maeglin. Percy was blamed for things out of his control, like how Maeglin is blamed for something out of his hands by all of Gondolin.
Percy's focus shifts to see if he can shift his form like he could in his other lives. He concentrates, and as he looks in the mirror, his eyes change to their original color but soon return to the dark color of stone.
It must be the different type of magic he has to get used to.
The magic of Middle Earth was more concentrated than in any other world. After so many deaths, Percy became a bookworm to survive. In one of the different timelines of Harry Potter, he got and learned how to make a magical trunk. So, throughout his journeys, he collected many books, scrolls, and artifacts. He has other items, which he won't mention, but the trunk is a home away from home.
Percy now has to make plans to scare Sauron and Melkor, steal back the Silmarillion, and ensure the sons of Feanor don't die from their horrible and stupid deaths. Percy would even drag Feanor out of the halls of Mandos by force, and he would even knock him out. Percy must ensure Elrond and Elros are born and fall into Maedhroes and Maglor's care. Be a menace to society.
Percy, or now Maeglin, stops looking in the mirror. Maeglin now has to plan how to make the people of Gondolin suffer without dooming them. He wants to make them feel what they made Maeglin feel. It would be challenging, but there is nothing Maeglin can't do. Maeglin changes into clothing so he can go to the forge for work. After all, annoying people and making them second-guess is Maeglin's expertise. The old Maeglin was gone, and now Maeglin was replaced by Percy, who didn't give a shit and would stab a bitch.
