Why? - Why...

So that's what happened, honestly I don't know if I made the right choice, but I'm a Black, it's my job to be a Slytherin if nothing else.

((Sirius was shocked, he was bewildered, Regulus hadn't, he wasn't he's- Sirius thought to himself, his brother was supposed to be a Gryffindor?...it just didn't make any sense, though, the hat was sly, if it had really believed Regulus was meant to be in Gryffindor it would have put him in it...Right? ))

Unfortunately I have to share a dorm with Rosier of all people...atleast Crouch is in Ravenclaw, much to Pandoras disappointment.

To mine and Pans' surprise Nightly got Slytherin, I have to say my jaw dropped, Cissa looked at me with an arched eyebrow, I didn't necessarily know how to tell her that the girl walking towards us was a half-blood I had met an hour before, though I knew she wouldn't mind, afterall, one of her best friends is Severus Snape.

Anyway, I must go, I can hear footsteps approaching the door and I really don't need Rosier, Peterson and Dainly seeing this...

Sirius didn't know what to say, or what to think or just, what to do...he just sat there staring at the last two paragraphs if he wasn't such a stubborn prick, if he had just...

"FUCK," Sirius screamed, his hold on the book gripping in anger, his mind started throbbing, why do I care so much, he asked himself.

He knows he shouldn't care, but there was a chance, there was a slight chance Regulus could have been with him, with the order, the right  side, and he gave it up, he fucking gave it up.

He wouldn't have been a deatheater? He wouldn't have died so young? Okay yes, maybe it was a bit stupid, but he just had to cling onto that tiny light of hope that deep down Regulus might have been an al- alr- alrig- it honestly hurt to even think about..

The worst thing is he doesn't even have a clear reason as to why, and he never would be able to find out, deep down he knows it was because of their parents, but he just had to hear it said, he just had to hear the words come out of someone's mouth, and the closest person he could get to Regulus was...

"Pandora,"

The blonde looked Sirius up and down, he looked as if he hadn't slept in a while, his clothes were all crumpled and his hair slightly messy, she felt her eyes soften with pity it is quite close to the full moon...

She hummed thoughtfully before slamming the door in Sirius' face, she didn't want to face him, she didn't know how.

"Pandora, please, I just want to talk," came Sirius' pleading voice through the door, she could hear the desperation in his voice, but she couldn't find it in herself to care very much.

"Why? Sirius..."

"Why..." She repeated.

"It's about Regulus..."

And only then did she open the door and usher him inside, only then did she offer him tea which he denied, only then did she dare to listen to whatever bullshit she knew Sirius would start spewing.

She sat down on the edge of the sofa closest to the arm chair Sirius was perched on, he was holding a bag that made Pandora suspicious, slightly confused and oddly anxious.

Sirius glanced down at her stomach, she felt his eyes stare at her bump,

"I'm pregnant, though I'm sure you can tell," she said, trying to sound as warm and kind as she usually did but she failed miserably, instead it came out cold and annoyed.

Though it seems he got the memo, his eyes darted from Pandora to the bag, and then Pandora found herself curious, she always did love a mystery.

Five minutes passed and Sirius still hadn't spoken, he just looked past Pandora, his eyes glossed over.

"Xen is out, if you're worried about anyone hearing," she said, trying to find recognition in Sirius' stormy grey eyes, his eyes flickered over to Pandoras blue ones.

"Hm?"

Pandora raised her eyebrows in a silent question, one that Sirius caught ahold of almost immediately.

"Oh..."

"Reg...he would have been a Gryffindor bu-" He looked at Pandora just in time to see her face morph into one of complete confusion

"Wait, what?" She asked arching an eyebrow, Sirius saw the confusion changing into curiosity changing into anger.

"How the fuck-" She started, standing up before being cut off by a sharp pain in her abdomen.

"GAH," Pandora cried, her hands immediately going to hold the bottom of her bump.

Sirius shot up, reaching out towards the girl,

"Shit, are, are you ok-"

"Fuck off Sirius," she said, swatting his hands away as she fell backwards into the settee.

He nod his head wearily as he sat back down slowly, making sure Pandora wouldn't need any help.

It seems she recovered almost immediately, because she drew her eyes into slits, she had obviously given up her "good cop" persona or whatever she used to call herself when her and the "Pantheon" used to do their interrogation shit.

"Right," He said, opening the bag and pulling out the yellow book with a pale green spine, Pandora saw the large, silver one glint in the rising sun, she recognised it almost immediately.

Pandora snatched it away as soon as she saw it, her eyes darted over the cover, she opened the book and flipped through the pages, out of the corner of her eye she could see Sirius peering over, trying to catch a glimpse of the flicking paper with words scrawled in black ink on them.

She slammed the book shut with one hand, she raised it up shaking it slightly, her eyes darted from the book to Sirius, book to Sirius, he found it unnerving, why is she reacting like this? He asked himself.

"Where did you get this?"

"Uhm- Regs room, why?"

Her eyes flickered down as she leaned back, her hands dropped into her lap and her face drained of any colour.

"I gave him this, h-he detailed everything in it.." Her eyebrows furrowed in pain, Pandora tilted her head to the side, she looked numb realised Sirius, "-to be completely honest she's more of a sister to me-", raced in his head, "-more of a sister-", "sister..."  it was said over and over in Regulus' voice.

"D-do you have the others?..." She asked, her voice swam in suppressed pain and saddness.

He nodded without another word, grabbing the two journals and handing them over to the younger girl, when she caught sight of them she choked on her sobs, holding onto them as if they were a life line.

He felt as if he had walked in on something, watching a person break down, be so vulnerable hurt, especially when it was Pandora, sweet, calming Pandora.

Eventually Pandora calmed down, her sobs slowing into heavy breaths, she sniffled, her snotty, red nose scrunching, the corners of her eyes creased as she let out a humourless laugh.

"Y'know, he tried to act as if nothing affected him, as if you ignoring him, as if your parents abuse, as if mean people in school didn't affect him, but then when I followed him up the stairs in the astronomy tower I'd find him writing in one of these," she said, bringing her hand up to her nose to wipe it.

Sirius' eyes softened, I never did that, he realised and a twang of what he refused to acknowledge was regret, panged in his chest, travelling through his blood and into his heart, making it ache profusely.

She chuckled, fiddling with her thumbs, a habit she had had since they were kids.

"What are you doing here, Sirius?" She asked, though it didn't have her usual joy in it, and it didn't have her detestment for Sirius in it, instead it had a tone of understanding in it, one Sirius believed was mutual.

"I just had to ask..."

She nodded her head, urging him to go on after he stopped.

"Why didn't he let the hat put him in Gryffindor?..." again Pandora tensed, she obviously didn't know due to her earlier reaction, but she knew Regulus better than anyone, if someone could give Sirius any reason they thought would be even remotely close, it would be her.

She hesitated before opening her mouth and closing it again, but then when she opened it again sound did actually come out, and it was only partly what Sirius was expecting.

"I think, he was scared, half for him, but, but," she trailed off, meeting Sirius' expectant gaze

"Mostly for you," she smiled slightly.

Sirius felt his eyebrows furrow in confusion for me?

"Reggie, he uh, from what he told me, he was terrified of what the consequences would have been, because he saw, you, get them..."

She said it in more of a question, and Sirius only nodded his head because she was right, she always could read people well.

"He always told me that even if he did something wrong you would take the fall, or you would get the brunt of the anger, I used to think it was just a way of making me less worried, but looking back there probably was some truth in it..."

Again Sirius nodded, he didn't know what to say, though, he never knew what to say when it came down to Regulus...

"So, I think he probably made the hat put him in Slytherin for, uh, both, of you," she said, looking back up at him and nodding silently to herself.

Sirius nodded at her, and again, that understanding passed between them, she passed the books over to him.

"Thanks...Pandora,"

"For what?"

"Telling me this, looking after Reg I suppose.."

She smiled softly at him, Pandora stood to start showing him the way out before he shoved his hand into the bag and started muttering to himself.

"It has to he in here somewhere, I could have sworn,"

Pandora waited patiently, though Sirius' presence was starting to really agitate her.

"Aha," He said to himself, his smile widening as he pulled out a letter that said Pandora in Reg's unmistakable neat handwriting.

He passed it to her wordlessly and showed himself out as she brought a hand to her mouth and settled herself into the armchair Sirius had previously been seated on.

Sirius shut the door behind him, gripping onto the bag.

"Goodbye, Pandora..."
