Chapter 11
Harry loved Jasper and that was all there was to it. So he wanted to help Jasper and his family minus Edward.
"Okay, I have been working on something that will help you appear to be more normal." Harry declared.
They'd managed to get Billy, Jacob, and Sam to agree to a dinner with the Cullens after explaining the Cullens diet to them.
"How are you going to do that?" Sam asked. "Applesauce?"
"A special applesauce." Harry informed as he handed Jasper the jar. "I've been working with Severus and Draco and we came up with this. We used the Blood Pop recipe with applesauce we think that we got it right......"
Jasper was already trying to drink the applesauce but only got a bit before setting the jar down.
"It is very powerful. I am already full."
"Too much." Harry huffed puffing out his cheeks in irritation. He glared at Draco clearly blaming him for the fact that Jasper couldn't eat the applesauce.
"We have some weaker versions." Severus said. "Ah, thank you, Winky."
The jars had just appeared out of nowhere on the table.
Rosalie went next though she used a spoon like the rest of the family. Edward, of course, wasn't there.
"This one." The Cullens pointed at the jar in Esme's hand.
"The one Harry originally wanted to give you." Severus nodded. He'd marked the jar when Harry had said that he was going to give it to Jasper because it was perfect. "Understood. We're trying to create an entire line of vampire-friendly food and drinks so that vampires don't need to feed on humans and animals anymore."
"That sounds great." Billy said. "We'd have less issue with Vampires if they didn't feed on humans."
The Cullens were all very excited by the prospect of having actual food again.
"What is even better was that I could actually taste the applesauce through the blood." Esme finally said.
Everyone watched Harry's eyes go wide while filling with excitement, glee, and determination.
Jasper was advancing well in his control over his Empathy, in fact, the more he learned to control it the more control he got over his hunger around the humans. He was also learning to control himself around Harry. They could now kiss without him needing to eat. He was taking advantage of this and could tell that Harry was pleased.
On the 13th of March Harry was walking around without his chair though he still got worn out. Jasper hated to tell him about the baseball game because Edward had invited Bella. But he did so Harry, Draco, and Luna were going to the game that day as well. They were at the Cullen House waiting for Bella and Edward to arrive. When the two came in Harry was feeding Jasper a cherry. Jasper ate it and almost moaned it tasted like a real cherry. It had the right consistency and everything, it was perfect.
"Perfect, Darlin'." Jasper told him. "A real cherry."
"You said that you used to love eating Cherry everything." Harry told him from where he was sitting on a stool at the island. "Here try this."
Harry handed him a can. Jasper opened it and drank.
"Cherry juice?" Jasper chuckled.
"I can't get the soda recipe right." Harry spotted Bella and Edward and pulled another can out of his bag. He tossed it to Edward who snatched it out of the air. "Drink it. You look hungry."
Edward didn't need telling twice and downed the whole can with a slight moan.
"You are a godsend." Edward sighed his eyes turned green. "You can really taste the cherry but it isn't overwhelming at all. It's almost a perfect balance."
"Almost?" Harry frowned. "Well, I'll get it right before long."
"Do you think that you could do butterscotch?" Rosalie wondered. "I used to love butterscotch."
"We're already working on it." Harry laughed.
"We had a request from an....acquaintance..... of ours....." Luna informed.
"You know other vampires?" Bella asked in a timid voice.
"I met my first vampire when I was fifteen." Harry informed. "He's a very famous vampire. I met him at a party. He wanted to drain my friend because she was his singer. Luna managed to talk him out of it and offered him some Blood Pops."
"He loves butterscotch and wants us to send him some." Luna informed.
"Do you love it?" Harry was focused on Jasper again. He was feeding him some pudding.
"I really do."
"Is that pudding?" everyone looked at Edward whose eyes were locked on the pudding. "I haven't had pudding in eighty-seven years."
Harry blinked at him then sighed and reached in his backpack again. He tossed Edward a pudding cup.
It was clear to all of them that Bella was confused and intrigued at the same time about what was going on.
"You're finally winning him over." Luna giggled as they stood in the field where they were going to be playing baseball. Edward had taken Bella home to inform Charlie, Bella's father, that he was bringing her to play baseball. "Just keep feeding him and he'll come around."
"I don't want to feed him but if he goes feral then it's everyone's problem." Harry sighed shaking his head. "He can't keep this up being around her....even with the food he's always hungry and he's losing control. Why can't he see that?"
"I'm working on something to help." Draco sighed.
"It'll work but it's too late to do it before the trouble starts." Luna hummed.
Harry was glad to move around and walk but couldn't take part in the baseball portion. He was laughing and enjoying playing catch with Jasper as they waited for the storm to start. Jasper was controlling his strength and Harry wasn't very good at it but was having fun. He'd never played catch after all. Jasper apparently had enough because Harry was suddenly being held to his chest and they were kissing.
When they broke for breath Harry noticed that Edward and Bella had arrived and Bella looked shocked as she stared at them.
Harry looked up at Jasper with love in his eyes.
It finally started Draco, Luna, he, and Bella weren't actually playing but were watching. Harry was sitting on one of those fold-up chairs that people took to sporting events. It had a cup holder and was actually very comfortable. He was enjoying the game when suddenly Luna and Alice gasped. Everyone was suddenly standing there.
"Other vampires. Different from the black-haired one who attacked Jessica." Luna informed as Jasper pulled Harry to his side. Edward was doing the same with Bella.
"They were going to leave but then heard out game." Alice said. "They've changed direction and are heading here. There's no time to get Bella out of here."
"Yes, there is." Harry said pushing away from Jasper.
"We can't." Draco reminded him. "We'll get in trouble."
"We don't have a choice!" Harry cried. "We can't let her get hurt!" he looked at her. "Hang on to my arm and don't let go. Close your eyes and hold your breath. Don't let go! NOW!"
Bella instantly let go of Edward and did as Harry told him to do. Harry turned on the spot and Apparated.
Severus, Andromeda, and Ministry members all jumped when they crashed into the living room. Bella was on Harry's back.
"Sorry, Bella." Harry moaned as she got up and quickly helped him up.
"It's okay, are you alright?" Bella asked. "Look I don't understand what's going on but thank you for saving me from those rogue vampires that were heading our way. But what about Luna and Draco? If the rogue vampires catch wind of their scents...."
"They'll be dead before they can do anything." Harry said brushing himself off. "Draco and Luna can take care of themselves. Don't worry."
Bella looked worried though as she helped Harry over to the couch and helped him sit down.
"You're sure that you aren't hurt from that landing?" Bella asked anxiously. "What's your doctor's number? I'll call them for you."
Harry sighed to himself. Maybe he hadn't given Bella a fair chance. She seemed nice enough.
"Lord....er.......Black?" one of the Ministry members asked.
He turned his head to look at them then cursed and got up moving in front of Bella.
"No. No. You're fine." the Auror who'd spoken said quickly. "Abe Potter, Head of the Auror Division. We're here to tell you that as of tomorrow the Statue of Secrecy is coming down and the spells you had us put on everyone will fail because of it."
"Just here in America?" Harry asked relaxing and letting Bella force him to sit down again.
"Yes, just here in America." Abe agreed. "We're going to be the genie pig for the idea. If it goes well then the ICW will implement it in other countries that have shown interest in the idea. "
Harry nodded and was shocked to find out that he had distant family over here. Maybe he'd write to the man later. But for now, he was cursing himself because now Bella was going to figure out what they were and it was going to be legal. He could tell that she was already bursting with questions.
"HAWWY!"
Bella jumped and backed up quickly almost falling when Teddy ran into the room with his arms up.
Harry beamed brightly and picked him up. He was soon hugging and kissing on him.
"Your child has blue hair." Bella said faintly.
"Godson. He's my godson." Harry informed her. "Draco's second cousin."
"Okay, but he has blue hair." Bella repeated.
Harry chuckled as Teddy tugged at his hair.
"Buu." he said tugging at his hair. "Buu."
"That's right, Teddy-Bear. Blue." Harry laughed. "Good job."
Teddy cheered and Bella just sat down her head was spinning.
