Chapter 10
Jasper had sent him a pic of Bella eating lunch with Edward on the 3rd. They seemed to be talking rather intently.
On the 4th Edward went hunting because he'd been cut off from Blood Pops again and was starving with Bella around. That night Rosalie sent Harry a pic of Edward in a tree outside of Bella's.
On the 5th, Draco, and Luna had agreed to meet Jacob at the La Push Beach. Draco could drive now so they loaded into the van and headed down there. Draco had a nice new sparkly car but he'd managed to talk Harry into agreeing to go with them so they were taking the van.
When they got there Jacob abandoned Bella and her group and helped get Harry out of the van.
"Do you guys know each other?" Mike Newton asked as he saw Draco, Luna, and Harry.
"Of course, we do." Jacob said rolling his eyes at them. "Draco and Harry are my cousins. Luna too though distantly."
"I didn't know that." Bella said and sounded shocked. "It's nice to see that you got a pass from the hospital to come today, Harry."
"Hospital?" Jacob asked and was instantly hovering around Harry worriedly. "Did you have to be readmitted? Did you hurt yourself during physical therapy? Did you break something? Did you hit your head again? Are you okay?"
"No. No. No. Yes. Yes." Harry sighed. "I did hit my head but Jasper was there to catch me so it wasn't as bad as it could be. I'm not hospitalized. Jessica Stanley is telling everyone that I've been hospitalized for anorexia and bulimia because I can't take her spreading rumors about me and have decided to homeschool instead."
Jacob frowned deeply.
"Come on, I want to introduce you to my friends." Jacob said grabbing Luna's hand. "There's someone I really really want you to meet, Luna."
"It won't work out, I already know when I'll meet my soulmate, Jacob." She informed. "But we'll be good friends."
"Well, that counts for something." Jacob laughed.
Harry enjoyed his time at the beach even if it was cold he didn't feel it because of the temperature controls on his chair. His ex-classmates treated him as if he had the plague or they treated him like he was made of glass. The guys from the reservation didn't do that they treated him like a person.
Bella is flirting with Jacob and he is telling her 'why the Cullens don't come here to La Push beach'. One of the girls brought it up that Edward wasn't here. Angela? or something like that. Anyway, I heard Jacob say 'Cold Ones'. He's got a crush on Bella and she's flirting to get information. I feel bad for him.
He sent it to all of the Cullens, Andromeda, Draco, Luna, and Severus.
Edward instantly refuted that Bella was flirting with anyone who wasn't him. Alice put them all in a chat room.
Preternatral Chat
Jasper:I know that Jacob is your cousin, but please come home from that beach I do worry about you being there in your condition.
Harry: Yes, I was thinking of asking to leave soon. Though maybe if I stay for the bonfire and eat some of the kids from school will start questioning Jessica's rumors.
Jasper: But I did not send you with applesauce.
Andromeda: I will have Winky magic some into Harry's bag. This chat isn't just for the two of you.
Rosalie: I demand to know about this potion that will help Emmett and I conceive a child and I wish to know right now!
Emmett: What she said.
Severus: Come to my lab and we shall discuss it but I caution you to wait until graduation or you'll have a scandal on your hands.
Esme: You are sure that you heard your cousin say 'Cold Ones'?
Draco: Jacob's descended from wolves? I feel we need to correct this misconception and tell them about creature inheritances and the curse.
Luna: She's very close to figuring it out. Draco go start the van and get Harry inside. I'll be a long shortly.
Alice: Luna's right. She's made plans to spend her night looking up 'Cold Ones' on the internet.
Carlisle: Who's idea was it to take her to meet the wolves?
Edward: She was invited by kids from school to go to the beach. She knows Jacob from when she used to visit her dad every summer. They were childhood friends and he still goes over to her house a lot because their dads are friends.
They'd stayed for the bonfire even though Luna hadn't wanted them to.
Harry was glad to be home. Even though it was cold out Harry had filled a baby pool full of heated water and was now watching Teddy play in it with many colorful water toys. He was smiling as he watched.
" What's this?" Jasper chuckled as he entered the living room.
"Harry said that is only fair for Teddy to get to go to the beach since we did." Draco shrugged looking up from his book.
"It is." Harry decided and kissed Jasper when the vampire leaned down to him.
Luna had said that she'd seen someone with pale skin and black hair getting sick from eating at the bonfire but the vision had been weird. Blurry and warped somehow. She'd assumed that it was Harry. She was now pouring over books trying to figure out what was going on with her visions. Alice had said that she hadn't seen anything like that and that in her vision Harry had caught a cold and had been bedridden. She hadn't been able to see many of the boys from the reservation. Harry had made a list of who she hadn't been able to see. He had decided that they were going to turn into wolves eventually. No one disagreed with him. Jacob was at the top of the list.
Jacob, who burst in with his dad and Sam Uley.
"We've got a problem!" Jacob cried loudly. "I saw ......I saw.....I saw......."
"You saw what?" Luna asked.
"I ....." Jacob was clearly in shock. "He was drinking her blood....."
Everyone froze and Jasper gently squeezed Harry's shoulder.
Jacob collapsed onto a chair and held his head his eyes wide.
"He was killing her.....then I.......I....."
"Transformed into a giant wolf?" Harry asked.
Billy and Sam frowned at him but were clearly both shocked to hear this. Jacob had clearly not told them this bit.
"Yes." Jacob nodded. "My clothes were destroyed and I was a wolf.....and I saved her.......but I need you to magic her memories away......"
"We can do that." Andromeda nodded. "Severus is the best at that. Where is she?"
"She fainted and is in the truck." Sam informed. "By the time I got there, Jacob was already back to human and Paul was lending him some clothes. I don't think anyone else saw. Embry came for me. I will handle the transition."
"First, we need to talk." Harry stated.
Jacob hadn't taken the news of creature inheritances and curses very well and Sam seemed confused. Jacob clearly was confused about being a wolf now and glared at Jasper the entire talk.
"He smells like that creature I drove away from the girl." Jacob informed when asked. "The Cold One."
The girl was Jessica and Harry hated that he helped save her but he did because it was the right thing to do. The Cullens were up in arms about not sensing another vampire in the area and Sam was angry because he hadn't felt or smelled the vampire that was on tribe lands. Luna was confused because of her vision. No one knew what to do and Harry decided to add to it all by reminding everyone that Jacob had told Bella about the Cold Ones.
This got Jacob lectured by both Billy and Sam. Jacob had moaned and apologized but the damage was done. The vampires were outed that much was clear.
The 7th and 8th were both sunny so the Cullens didn't attend classes. Harry was thrilled because he got to spend two full days with Jasper.
"We can't go into direct sunlight." Jasper explained as he fed Teddy on 8th. "Our Daywalker Rings can't fully protect us from the sun. That's why we live in overcast areas and areas that don't get much sunlight. We'll slowly start to burn if we're in direct sunlight too long."
"Maybe we can fix that." Harry hummed. "I've actually been wanting to study about your rings when I heard that they helped you walk during the day. Daywalker Rings...Where have I heard that term before?"
"Here is being a book, Master Harry." Kreacher appeared at Harry's side handing him a very old book. "Master is letting Kreacher know when he wants the next one. The Black Library had many books on the subject."
With that, Kreacher vanished.
"I didn't read it in the Black Library but I suppose that it's the perfect place to start the search." Harry said shaking his head.
"It was in Lockheart's book." Draco hummed. " 'I met a vampire with an odd ring that allowed him to walk during the day. Though, it had a curious side effect. It made his skin sparkle like diamonds if ever he was exposed to direct sunlight.' "
"That's it!" Harry declared with a nod.
"Odd, that's exactly what happens before the burn starts." Rosalie hummed.
"The same person must have made your rings then." Harry surmised.
He buried himself in studying the ancient tome in his hands. He was going to solve this problem.
