Worries

“You promise to be careful.” I take Regulus his hands in mine, my fingers caressing the back of his hand “and call for help if you need it.”
“I promise.” Regulus nods “You stay safe as well and keep an eye on Sirius, he doesn’t act like himself after his fight with Remus.”
“I will.” I promise before looking at Sirius over Regulus his shoulder, he was trying to talk to Remus but Remus his answers were short and I could see Sirius getting agitated again, what meant they probably haven’t resolved their fight yet. I then saw Sirius yell before storming towards us.
Regulus kissed my cheek “Good luck.” Before he turned to sirius to bit him goodbye. I look over at Remus who was looking at Sirius longingly and I swore I could even see a sign of regret in his eyes but as soon as he noticed me, he pulled himself back together and gave me a small nod in acknowledgement before going over to Emmeline.
“So is everyone ready?” Emmeline spoke after everyone said goodbye “Edgar has returned and managed to inform the citizens to stay inside, he thinks he managed to do it unnoticed.”
“That is good.” Remus nods being visible relieved his old friend managed to get back safely, he might have acted like it didn’t bother him but everyone knew it did even though it was his own plan.
“I am ready.” Regulus nods “I will create a distraction and will join you all as soon as I can, stick to the plan.”
“Well then what are we waiting for?” Lily cracks her knuckles ready to do some serious damage “I can’t wait to kick some asses.”
Regulus looks as me pointily before gesturing with his head to lily, trying to tell me to watch her as well. I nodded before we went to leave the cave. Remus and Sirius kept their distance while Lily walked infront. I turn my head to look at Dorcas who hadn’t said much since we’ve arrived at kyoshi “Are you okay?” I ask her.
She smiled up at me gracefully “I am just worried about Regulus, Remus and Sirius, about Lily who seems a lot more violent than I have ever seen and about Marlene.” She sighs “I know I’ve known Marlene for a short while but I feel this connection with her, it’s hard to explain and now she is captured by the fire nation”
“You love her.” I answer
“Maybe.” She twiddles the braids in her hairs “We wrote each other you know while we flew over the entire world. I kept it a secret not wanting people to get mad of me by keeping in contact. It’s just I’ve lived my entire life in debt of the southern water tribe who took me in, I helped Regulus and Sirius but I’ve never done something for myself. I felt something when I met her and I wasn’t ready to give it up and share it with anyone else.”
“No one would be mad at your for following your heart, if you tell me Marlene is a very lucky girl.”
“Thank you James that means a lot to me.” She smiles “I should’ve told them about the letters we exchanged.”
“But you wanted something for yourself for once.”
“exactly.” She nods
“When you tell them, I will support you.” I tell her “for now let’s make sure those three don’t blow this mission.”
“Sounds like a plan.” She pats my back before speaking up trying to comfort me while I knew she was just trying to convince her self “Just so you know Regulus will be fine as well.”
“I know.” I smile “but that doesn’t make me worry any less about him”
