First step of the plan
Remus p.o.v
We had managed to sneak around the town. The town was abandoned which meant Edgar had indeed be successful in telling the rest of the village to stay inside. We did came across a few fir nation soldiers on patrol duty but managed to avoid them. At the moment we were hidden at the side of the harbour where the ships had docked. We waited until Regulus his distraction would take place and not much later we noticed the ground trembling and someone sending different kind of rocks in the air before a water whip also made it’s way into the sky among a small tornado. Lily did practice with Regulus on his air bending before the mission would start, just to prepare him some more. “That was Regulus.” Dorcas whispers and then we noticed a lot of fire nation soldiers ran out of the ships towards the place Regulus was, even those who were on break ran towards him. I could notice James Stiffen next to me and Sirius muttered a small prayer for the well- being of his brother.
“Okay hold on.” Lily nods as the soldiers had vanished from our sight “Ready Sirius.”
My boyfriend nodded as he managed to make a steam cover using the ocean’s water so we could slip into the ships unnoticed then he used the water to engulf his arms in water, like a whip. The others boarded the middle ship that Emmeline said would hold our imprisoned friends but I stopped “You guys go and search for the girls, I will make sure the ships sink., I will start at the first one and make my way through all of them”
“Remus you take those on the left, I will take care of the ships on the right” James speaks up “I can overheat the engines.”
“Be careful.” I tell the group as my eye linger on Sirius, We still hadn’t resolved our fight. I understood where he was coming from but my worries about my friends clouded my mind and ability to think clearly. I knew he was angry and disappointed with me when I didn’t want to talk it out when he came to me before the mission, I wasn’t ready to face him and apologize yet because I might have overreacted when he said he wanted to join me, the fear of losing him had filled my insides when he voiced he wanted to come with me and I didn’t know how to handle it without lashing out at him. I felt stupid and knew I would need to be the one to make it up this time. Sirius wouldn’t even look at me, he gave James a quick hug. Dorcas gave me an encouraging nod as Lily clapped my back before they ran inside.
“If we get out of this alive, I will kick your ass.” James whispers dangerously” you really broke Sirius his heart and it took a lot for him to talk to you again this morning. As you know he is pretty stubborn.”
“I will gladly let you kick some sense into me.” I tell James “ I admit I didn’t handle our argument the best way possible. I will make it up to him.”
“I know you will.” James says as I couldn’t detect a sign of malice in his voice. “Now we should hurry up and destroy these ships.”
“Keep out of sight and don’t get captured.” I point at him “I mean it, Regulus and Sirius will kill me if something happens to you.”
“I can take care of myself.” James winks before running off.
