Moody and Poppy
Regulus p.o.v
“So tell me why you are seeking our assistance in this war, we are a peaceful tribe and much rather prefer not to participate in it.” The chief speaks up as he pours us all a cup of tea.
“I am just one person, I might be the avatar but I am nothing on my own.” I look at leaves floating in my boiled water “I can’t defeat the fire nation all on my own and when we end this war, I need people trustworthy and just to rebuild the nations so we can all live in peace again. I need to show people that we can work and live together no matter the nation we originate from or which element we bend. That is the reason why I need allies both during and after the war.”
Madam Pomfrey smiles “I see, well what you a trying to do is very wise and honourable young avatar.” She then turned to the chief “I think you know what we should do.”
Alastor Moody crossed his arms “I understand what you are trying to accomplish young avatar but like I said we stayed out of this war all this time and I intend to keep it that way.”
“So you will sit here and do nothing while innocent people get murdered.” James stands up looking annoyed at the chief.
Alastor turned to glare at my firebending master “it was your family who started this war.”
“and I lost my parents because of it.” James argues “I do no stand behind the decisions my uncle made nor do I support this war. My parents and I fought to end this fight but just like the avatar said we didn’t stand a chance because we were alone”
“So what will you do after the war?” the chief questions James “it’s your birthright to be firelord right.”
“I will right the wrongs my nation made under the rule of my uncle and I will make sure he can never torment another soul.”
the corner of Moody’s lips turn up amused “We shall see If you make a choice in the best interest of this world.”
“You don’t know me.” James point an accusing finger at the leader of the swamp people. I stand up as well to place a hand on his shoulder hoping it would calm him down. I eye Sirius who was being held back by Remus but just like james he was looking at the chief with disgust
“You are right, I do not.” Alastor sips his tea before looking at all of us “So how can you assure me that my people will be safe if they join your war efforts.”
“I can’t.” I answer truthfully “ No one is safe but if we do not stop the fire lord, sooner or later they will find a way to burn this swamp to the ground with all of you in it.”
“Alastor.” The healer scolds him “Stop tormenting these people, we both know you have already made your decision.”
The chief sighs “You are right Poppy, I just wanted to see if they would be honest with us.”
“So what did you decide then?” I ask.
“You will have the support of the swamp tribe when you right the world” He stands up to hold out his hand in order for me to shake it “but I won’t order my tribe to fight for you, I will on the other hand give my people the choice to aid you in the war if they want too.”
“I agree.” I shake his hand “I won’t have people ordered to fight for me, they have to be able to choose for themselves”
“Then it seemed we have come to an accord.” Moody nods “You are welcome to stay here for as long as you like.”
“Thank you for your generosity.” I tell him “We really appreciate it, right?” I look at the rest of my group who all said their thanks except for James and Sirius who still didn’t look pleased with the chief.
“Well dinner should be ready by now.” Madam Pomfrey answers trying to diffuse the tension “Let’s eat shall we.”
