Chapter 6; September 3rd, 1974

Sirius woke up in the common room. He was on the couch he was on last night. The couch he was on when he saw Remus snogging a girl. He had a blanket over him now and a plate of breakfast on the table in front of him, a note to the side of the plate. The note was written in perfect cursive.

Sirius,
Hangover potion and the toast you like. You're gonna need it. Good luck during lessons today
-R.A.B
(I made the potion, he's just taking all the credit.. the little bitch -NB)

Sirius smiled and drank the potion quickly. It was better than the pain potion he had on the train, but it still wasn't good.

He ate the toast slowly, knowing there was still a chance he would vomit. The headache had showed up now. He needed the potion to kick in before lessons or today would suck.

He slowly walked up to his dorm room, expecting to find at least one person who wasn’t supposed to be there, but ended up being wrong. Whoever the girl was that Remus was with last night was gone. His curtains were open and he didn't have a shirt on, but Sirius had expected so much worse.

“Didnt think youd be up. Surprised you didn't get alcohol poisoning.” James yawned, sitting up in his bed. “How you feeling?”

Sirius shrugged and sat down on the bed next to him.

“Like shit.” He mumbled, laying back on the bed.

“Makes sense. How much do you remember?” James put his hand on Sirius’ head to check for a fever.

“Uhhh, Cissa and Reg were there. Bella was off flirting with some guy. And Remus was snogging a girl in the corner.” His voice was raw from the yelling and the alcohol.

“Yeah that's about it. Other than Peter blowing up the table after losing a game of chess to Lily but Narcissa was standing over you holding you down for some reason. And you threw up on her because she gut punched you. You feel hot, like you have a fever though. You shouldn't go to lessons.” James said loudly.

James likes to be loud and obnoxious when he's hungover, the exact opposite of everyone else. But that's James. Who would expect anything different?

James stood up and woke up his other two roommates before grabbing his robes and going into the bathroom.

Sirius sat up and saw Remus staring at him.

“Was she good at least?” Sirius asked without thinking.

“What?” Remus asked, looking around.

James walked out of the bathroom and grabbed Peter's ankles, dragging him out of bed and down the stairs.

“The girl. From last night. Was she good?” Sirius mumbled looking at the ground.

Peter walked back into the room, slamming the door against the wall and breathing heavy “Guys…My clothes. I need to shower.”

“Peter, you're fine! Take a shower in the girls room you fucking pansy!” James yelled from downstairs. Peter rolled his eyes and grabbed his robes, slamming the door as he left.

Remus had more scars than he did before he left, one of them going across his torso, from the top of his collar bone to where the waistband of his boxers were.

“The Hufflepuff girl. I saw you bring her up here last night. Was she- was she better than me?” He stuttered, fighting back the tears welling up in his eyes.

“Sirius, I blacked out. I don't know what you're on about.” He got up and walked over to James bed, leaning on the bedpost.

“Liar. I know you remember. You just don't want to.” Sirius looked away, knowing he wont be able to hold eye contact.

Remus grabbed his arm and pulled him over to the other bed, holding him down.

“You're right. I don't wanna remember. She wasn't good. Too loud during all the wrong times. Never said the right thing. Wanna remind me what good sex is Sirius?”

He was standing in between Sirius’ legs. Sirius sat up, supported by his hands behind him.

“You have lessons. In like 15 minutes.” Sirius responded, looking at the clock next to Remus’ bed.

“So do you.” Remus grabbed his chin, pulling him closer.

“Not going. James says I have a fever.” He looked up at Remus, breaking the promise he made to himself to not make eye contact.

“Then I'm not going either. I need the taste of her perfume out of my mouth.” Remus smiled, kissing him.

~~~
Sirius was laying on Remus’ chest, listening to him breathe. He was asleep. Of course he was. He would always fall asleep right after they fucked. Sirius didn't know why it bothered him so much. It's not like he’s any different. He just can't fall asleep this time.
He was wearing one of Remus’ hoodies, the one he slept in most of the time.
He traced the scars on Remus’ chest, something he did often enough to know what shapes they all made. Almost like he was tracing constellations in the stars. Even though he knew all of the scars and how they worked together, he always found himself looking for his own constellation, knowing he wouldn't find it. He knew it was impossible. None of the other ones made constellations, so why would the only one be his, but he would always look for it. Just in case.
“It's not there. You know this.” Remus mumbled, barely awake.
“I know.” Sirius mumbled back, trying to hide the sadness in his voice.
Remus ran his hand through Sirius’ hair, still half asleep. “How much trouble do you think we’ll be in for skipping lessons today?” He laughed.
“As long as we dont tell them its because we were hungover and wanted to fuck i think we’ll be okay. If anyone asks, I was throwing up all morning and you stayed back to make sure I was okay.” His voice was raspy, and oh did that do things for him.
“Mcgonagall should believe that. You are really warm so it works out.” Remus put his hand on Sirius’ forehead to check his temperature.
“Oh. I forgot about that. I don't want to get you sick.” He said softly, sitting up.
“Lay your ass back down. I don't get sick easily, and if I do get sick I'll be fine. But it's cold now. Come back.” Remus smiled, pulling Sirius back down.
Sirius wrapped his arms around him, trying to fall asleep again.
