Letters can hold so much power.
It was just like any other day or so Dazai thought. He sat down next to Blaize and the twins. He laid his head on his arms, acting as a pillow.
"morning 'zai."
Dazai looked up from his arms, "Zai?"
"Your nickname." Blaize replied.
"Aw that's a cute nickname dazai! Good thinking Blaize!" Fred said.
"I still don't know why you guys still call me Dazai, like, we are super good friends. I kinda see you guys as my family now." He mumbled the last part, but Blaize still heard it.
"Why wouldn't we call you by your first name, Dazai?" Ron piped up. Dazai just looked confused.
He burst out laughing. "You guys thought Dazai was my first name?! HAHAHA to funny!"
"Wait what?" They all asked. Embarrassment and confusion seeped into all of their faces.
Dazai wiped a fake tear from his eye. People had started watching them. "In Japan we call others by their last names as a sign of respect. We only call each other by our first names if we're super close friends or family. I introduced myself as Dazai cause that's what we do. Osamu's my first name."
"No way....that's really cool!" Fred piped up, "So do you need anything Osamu?"
"Ya, what can we help you with Osamu."
"You're really cute Osamu." The twins played with his name.
"Wait so you aren't joking? Your first name isn't Dazai?" Ron said. Dazai shook his head.
"I'm surprised you guys didn't know this. I was calling him Dazai as to pay respect! I can't believe you guys don't know the customs in Japan!" Hermione practically yelled.
Other students just looked confused. Some looked surprised, but most were confused. The hooting of owls was heard over breakfast. Students must have received mail then. Dazai wasn't expecting to see Featherbrain coming to him with 2 official documents.
He looked at the letters. 1 of them was an official letter from the port mafia. The second was...one of Ango's biographies? Hm interesting.
Dazai set them on the table and opened the letter first. The first thing he noticed was that it was written in Japanese, and not in Mori's handwriting.
Dear Dazai-san,
The Port Mafia's battle against Mimic did not go as planned. Mori-san had to get involved. We ended up being able to defeat the small fleet of ability users, however it cost us Mori Ougai's life.
His eyes widen. He hated Mori, sure, but he never wished him death. He would have if he didn't know how much the Port Mafia and Yokohama needed him. The guy had also helped him. His hand found its way to covering his mouth and the others started at him.
However, we do need a new boss, and you are next in line. We ask that you return home immediately. There we may have a meeting and discuss plans for the future, and if you are to continue your mission at Hogwarts.
Please be home in Yokohama soon.
Sincerely, Horitsu.
"THOSE BASTARDS!" He stood up and crumbled up the peace of paper. Mimic had killed Mori, not like Dazai cared about the man. However, this meant that Dazai was the new boss for the port mafia and had to, most likely, leave Hogwarts.
Mori's death also meant chaos and vulnerability until Dazai got there. A flight from England to Yokohama will take a long time. He was now very angry.
Everyone around him looked at him, wondering what the demon student would do.
"Osamu? What's wrong?" Blaize asked.
Dazai took a deep breath and sat down. "Those bastards killed Mori."
"What?!"
"Ya, this stupid organization killed him. Now I'm the stupid boss of his organization. I'm thinking that this could mean war between our organizations. Freakin stupid." Dazai responded. He never wanted a full on war to happen between the port mafia and Mimic, however, killing one's boss will do it.
No one could find any words. Until hermione spoke up, "Are uh you ok Osamu? I mean you just got news that your dad was killed..."
"Oh I'm fine. Just angry. Mori was abusive anyway." He said. He got up before they could say anything else, "Though this is pretty bad for Yokohama and stuff. I need to get back home before anything super bad happens."
Once there Dazai picked up his phone and dialed one of his men. He had created this universe to see Odasaku again, and though he hadn't expected Mori to die in the Mimic incident instead, he couldn't say he wasn't kinda happy. And this time Dazai was probably going to need to kill Mimics boss.
The car pulled up and Dazai got in side. "Bring me back to the main Port Mafia building."
They went there. Dazai put on the much to big coat and scarf. 'I need to get this fitted so I'm not tripping on the coat every time I walk.'
Dazai walked into the meeting room, stumbling a few times, as a new person. The youngest Mafia boss in history. The room had the executives and normal members alike sitting at the table. They all bowed their heads at their newly appointed boss.
Dazai took a deep breath, "We're going to war."
