Best Friend Breakups (Lily/Lucius)
Narcissa watched in the background as her best friend Lily and her boyfriend Lucius were talking, seemingly forgetting that she was there or existed in general. Lily was obviously flirting with him and he wasn’t stopping her in fact he was doing the opposite. She watched as their conversation drifted from one thing to the next. As she was brushed off time and again she just gave up sitting at the table watching as the two people who mean the most to her broke her heart and didn’t care.
Lily decided this is how she was taking her revenge as Cissa had taken the #1 student spot from her. Cissa studied with her all year, knew her habits and became friends, she knew how important this was for her, then took it. She was going to wreck her life. She had told Lily about their betrothal to Lucius and that she was glad they had fallen in love as she didn’t want to be in a loveless marriage like her parents. Lily had liked Lucius not enough to make a move when her ‘friend’ liked him but she watched him and knew he didn't seem to truly care for Narcissa the same way, she saw how his eyes wandered especially to her and her short curvy body. Lily had found she liked how he watched her and oh how he did.
Lucius never truly cared about Narcissa; he knew they were supposed to end up together to produce some kids but he didn’t like her. She agreed too quickly and was too quiet. He wanted someone to truly speak for themselves not what they were taught. Lily was always reading and learning but she was also talking and laughing and not afraid to take up space. He figured he could get Cissa to like him so he could get close to Lily and boy did Cissa fall for it. She looked like she was about to cry as he was laughing with Lily about one of the pranks pulled recently and for the first time he thought he would feel sorry.
After much time and conversations with his father he was able to break the betrothal and the year after they graduated lily and him got married and about a year later had their first child a daughter named after the woman who brought them together Narcissa.
