Once Rose was sure they were a sufficient distance from the Dursley's house, she parked the car on the side of the road.
Rose checked more than once in the car mirror to see if anyone was following them, then finally relaxed and sighed, but she remembered that she was not alone.
"Are you well?" Rose looked at the boy next to her. He was sitting normally, but his eyes were only looking forward.
“Ah.. yes...” Rose was happy when she finally heard the boy's voice, it must have been shocking for all of this to happen so suddenly.
“I know this is very surprising, but I will make sure you live your life well.” Rose looked at the boy and said that.
When Rose looked at the boy, she found that he had injured feet from running to her car barefoot.
"Sorry about that, I'll get you bandages and shoes soon." Rose was about to get off when a small hand grabbed her sleeve.
"C- can I go..?" The hesitant eyes behind the glasses looked at her nervously.
Rose nodded, that wasn't a big deal.
Rose grabbed her bag and took out the slippers she had been wearing at the Dursley's house, and placed them on the boy.
"You can wear this while we go." Rose smiled and got out of the car.
After the boy left by himself, Rose immediately led him to a nearby pharmacy.
Rose asked the boy to sit aside on one of the chairs while she brought him bandages and medicine.
Rose was happy that the boy seemed to want to watch her, but wasn't that just an exaggeration?
Rose could almost feel the emerald eyes piercing her body.
She could even feel the suspicion in the eyes of the woman in the pharmacy, perhaps she thought she had kidnapped the poor child.
In fact, isn't this considered kidnapping?
After all, you hadn't explained anything to the boy, so the first thought that would come to his mind was that he had definitely been kidnapped.
Yes, that was definitely a bad idea.
Rose internally decided that she would tell the boy her identity as soon as they got back to the car.
Rose paid the price and turned to look at the boy.
"We can go now."
There was no boy.
Rose stared blankly at the chairs, no one was there this early.
“Excuse me, but did you see where the boy who was with me went?” Rose looked at the woman who shook her head quietly with doubt in her eyes.
Rose was angry, but she had no interest in wasting her time with her when the boy was in danger.
Although Petunia has already signed the contract, there are still some procedures to do with the court, such as checking her ability to raise the boy and many other things.
This means that during this period, if anyone finds out that she has lost the boy, she could easily lose custody of the boy if Petunia or/and Vernon decides to regain custody of the boy.
This was a disaster.
She would only be able to deceive Petunia with another using money, which is what Rose wanted to avoid doing, as this was money she had accumulated throughout her life.
The best solution is to find the boy before the matter reaches the police.
Rose quickly got into her car, there weren't many people around this early, so there was no need to look in person, she could just look out the windows while driving.
To begin with, Rose looked in the direction of the Dursley's house. The boy might try to return to that place, and it was not in Rose's interest if the boy returned.
She couldn't find the boy, and with every passing minute, Rose becomes more nervous to the point that she thinks about asking her friends for help to search.
Just when Rose finally thought to call the police, she found the boy.
He was sitting in a public park, kneeling on the cold grass without shoes.
Rose wanted to call the boy, but finally realized that she didn't know his name.
When she heard that Lily had a son from an acquaintance, she could only know that he was living at the Dursley's house due to her being far away from her sister in France.
Rose has made a lot of mistakes in her life.
One of them is that she took the wrong steps to identify Lily's son.
Rose will fix her mistake.
"Hi." Rose's voice was hesitant.
The boy clearly froze, but Rose pushed herself, saying that she would get nowhere if she continued to hesitate.
“We started off wrong, can you give me another chance?” Rose held her hands together, looking at the boy hopefully.
After a while, the boy nodded slowly.
Rose hid her excitement, walked over to the boy and sat next to him on the grass, wincing when she felt the cold of the grass even through her pants.
She finally saw what the boy was looking at, he was playing with a cat, and the corner of his mouth lifted into a half smile.
"Do you like cats?" Rose asked suddenly.
Rose waited patiently, and the boy nodded again.
"I like cats too." Rose smiled as the cat meowed while the boy petted her.
After a period of comfortable, silent silence, Rose decided it was a good time to introduce herself.
"My name is Rose Belle Evans. I am your second aunt and your mother's twin, more specifically."
Rose carefully watched the boy, noticing that he looked at her with a hesitant expression before humming.
Rose was happy with the development in how the boy was responding, so she continued talking.
"Your mother's name is Lily Evans." Rose waited for another nod from the boy before continuing.
“From now on, I will be your guardian, so tell me anything you may need.” Rose smiled encouragingly at him.
The boy seemed to have something to say, but he stepped back and nodded again.
"So, can we go home now?" Rose stood up and extended her hand to Harry.
Rose couldn't help but notice the boy's bright eyes, and the dazed smile on his face as he held her hand.
"Yes." The two walked together, their hands still intertwined.
"My name is Harry Potter."
Rose smiled and replied happily: “Okay.”
Harry.
What an excellent name, Lily.
