The Struggles Of A Failed Spare
Summary
Regulus Black is a female all throughout this fanfic.Regulus Black had been sent away for a straight two years due to their parents fear of her being under Sirius's influence and attempting to properly 'train' her. OR the struggles of an ill teenager.
Note
Explanation to why Regulus is a girl: this is my first fic and to stay motivated I wanted to do something that a lot of people have probably done but not that have read of, but if they have leave recs!! I also done it just because I take interest into the story of Regulus but am genuinely better with girl perspectives. There is gay/lesbian couples in this so don't go straight to assuming there's not.

the voices of a mind

The manor was practically empty, Sirius's parents had dull-wittedly left troubled, first Gryffindor in the history of the most Ancient and Noble house of Black, alone. How bright-minded they we're.

Even alone Sirius felt the familiar crawling of bone-like numbness shake his shoulders, creaking floorboards shouting in advance for a pre warning of his mother, inaudible chattering from each side of the lean corridors. It made him doubt, something in his brain was quaking and giving him squeaks of directions.

"The library, the library, the library." A quiet quake soon became a throbbing pierce of demands. Sirius lived up to his title, Gryffindor, his brain repeated and mind smiled down at him, "the library," he heard from the own sides of his mouth.

Sirius found himself taking not so subtle steps down the staircase and across the banister, the library was the only room of colour, therefore that concluded to it being hidden at the bottom of the house - two staircases down.

The library had core memories of his blooming childhood, the childhood he shared and wasted - he had not been down there in what felt like centuries well not since Regulus. His younger and only sister who had been sent off due to the actions of Sirius. That school being Durmstrang, the school supposedly being the cause of dark arts (Slytherins pride) Rumours about Durmstrang flew round each and every mouth, especially ministers, young Sirius dreaded the day vulnerable 12 year old Regulus would be kept under their authority for 2 years - he'd done everything in his power to create excuses for Minerva as to why Regulus could not go home that semester and how they could not alert his parents about this request. Minerva did the latter wish , the less important one.

Guilt still stroke his bones when thinking about the situation, he hasn't seen Regulus since. It would now be Regulus's 4th year and Sirius's 5th, Regulus's birthday passed months prior yet Sirius believed this was her day to celebrate. Sometimes Sirius wished it was him to be sent to Durmstrang but a part of him doubted he wouldn't make it without becoming the pureblood his parents desired.

Sirius took a seat down on a random rusty chair of the library, today marked the 2 years Regulus had disappeared for but Sirius gave up hoping for her to make an arrival, his parents told him this exact time the previous year that Regulus would be taking an early fly back and become a registered student at Hogwarts, a year later and it's yet to happen.

Regulus wasn't dead, no of course she wasn't, I think you'd have to saw off each and every limb of the Black household for a child of theirs to be killed off, it was attention, negative attention nevertheless.

Sirius slowly regretted coming down here, it was like a childhood recap was rolling through his mind, he's realised something these past few months as they built up to the day Regulus should've came back, he has realised with a sibling you will always have the label of being related but there's also a slight choice, sure it's in your blood but there is also a choice to acknowledge it. It's his turn. He can't go with denying it anymore, he misses her - he misses his sister, Regulus, his Regulus, his sister Regulus - it was murdering him more each day.

There was a shadowed figure in the corner, his old corner, the house of Black new that table as a whole was occupied even with Regulus in a different school. Sirius was ready to confront.
