“Ginny? Are we straight?” Harry Potter said out of the blue one day.“
What? Harry, what are you talking about?” his girlfriend, Ginny Weasley, looked at him like he was crazy.
“I mean, I’ve seen the way you look at Luna, and sometimes I look at Malfoy, and I legitimately cannot think. At all.” The sixteen-year-old continued in a way that made Ginny wonder if he was on drugs or had finally broke and needed to be sent to an insane asylum.
“Harry, we’ve been dating for over a month, you have dated other girls, and I have dated other boys, I think we would know if we were gay.”
“But, what if-”
“Harry! Why are you suddenly questioning mine and your sexuality?” Ginny cut him off.
“I just...feel like there are things that should be happening, but aren’t, and other things that I’m just to blind to see.” Harry replied hesitantly.
“Like what?” Ginny asked, suddenly curious.
“Like Crabbe and Goyle being secretly smart and just putting on an act of being dumb (and are secretly dating too), like Blaze Zabbini being genderfluid and dating Theodore Nott, like everyone from my parent’s generation being gay and then dying tragically, like Lucius Malfoy actually being pretty cool, like Daphne Greengrass dating Pansy Parkinson, like-”
“Ok, Harry, next your gonna say something crazy like your dad was dating Sirius’s brother in school, Sirius and Remus were actually together, your mum had a girlfriend who Obliviated herself after losing everything, or that You-Know-Who was almost brought down by a very angry lesbian after he killed her girlfriend.” Ginny listed off in a mocking voice.
“Okay, I guess it sounds dumb when you say it like that.” Harry sulked. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At Various Points In Time And Space
Draco Malfoy sighed and Luna Lovegood (who had at some point appeared next to him) sighed with him. They had both “overheard” Harry and Ginny’s conversation in the library and were so confused how two people could be so oblivious.
“He loves you; he just doesn’t know it yet.” Luna said consolingly.
Draco glanced at her. “He was so close, a few more minutes down that train of thought and he would have gotten there.” He said in an almost (but not quite because he’s a Slytherin) pained voice.
“Mm,” Luna hummed in agreement. “Just my luck that I fell in love with single most oblivious girl in the entire school.”

“Vince, where’s my copy of Hogwarts: A History?” Gregory Goyle asked, peering beneath a bedside table.
“Didn’t you put it under your bed yesterday? You should check there hon.” Vincent Crabbe replied, looking up from an open mastery level transfiguration book propped next to an open charms book of the same level.
“Oh, you’re right! Thanks, love.”

Blaze Zabbini altered his appearance, and then he was not a he anymore, but a she. She looked in the mirror one last time before walking out and straight into her loving boyfriend, Theo Nott.
“Female today then?” he asked, catching her.
“Yep.” she replied simply.
“Shall I accompany you to your rehearsal?” he asked.
“You can do whatever you want, but if you were to come it would be much appreciated,” she replied in the most convoluted, Slytherin way possible. He smiled in a way that, for Theo, was the equivalent of beaming at her.

James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin (all the Marauders except Pettigrew), Lily Evans, Mary Macdonald, Marlene MacKinnon, Dorcus Medows, Evan Rosier, Barty Crouch Jr, and Regulus Black were all indisputably gay. They all tended to flock together, with the additions of Pandora and Peter.
The first to die was Regulus. He was killed by infiri after finding the locket.
The second was Marlene who was killed while working for the Order of the Pheonix by Voldemort and his followers.
The third was Evan who was killed while working as a death eater.
The fourth was Dorcus. She was killed by the combined efforts of several death eaters (not to mention the dark lord himself).
Next at places five and six were James and Lily on that infamous Halloween night.
Mary disappeared not long after. To this day no one knows what happened to her.
Things started slowing down after that and Pandora didn’t die until several years later (after having her first, and only child). The only details known of her death is that her four-year-old daughter was also in the room and saw it happen.
Nine more years passed, and Barty was next. He was Kissed by a dementor without any kind of trial.
Sirius died only a year later at the hands of his worst cousin.
Then, in the same year, Peter, then Remus died one missed a lot more than the other.

Lucius Malfoy looked up as his wife, Narcissa Malfoy, entered his office with Severus Snape close at her heels. It had been sixteen years since the three of them had decided to start their own faction that was neutral light but operated in the shadows. They now had people on both sides of the war but were actively working against the Dark Lord. Their members now included Augusta Longbottom, Lord Greengrass, the Zambbini’s, Rufus Scrimger (current chief auror), Remus Lupin (very secretly), themselves, and several others.
“News Severus?” he asked mildly.
“Yes. You remember the prophecy?” Snape replied curtly.
“The one you overheard?”
“Yes. The Dark Lord is after it. The rest is in the Department of Mysteries. The Order is guarding it.”
“Any luck on the other fronts?”
“No further updates.”
“Alright. I’ll see what I can do with this prophecy fiasco.”

The girls broke apart and looked at each other, one with a bittersweet expression, the other furious.
“I’m sorry.” was all Daphne could manage at the moment.
“No! I will not let some stupid boy get in the way of our relationship! Can’t you tell your parents that you're not ready for a relationship yet?” Pansy asked her voice a whisper-shout as she fumed.
“I’m honestly surprised it was my parents and not yours that did this first. My parents don’t usually care, but they’re set on this and I’m not sure why.” Daphne murmured.
Pansy suddenly fell into Daphne’s arms and looked up at her through her lashes. “Out of all the people, Draco is one of the least likely to care if we continue, as long as the information stays private. I’ve known him my whole life. I don’t think he likes girls. Not the way I like you.” She said in a low voice before putting her mouth to Daphne’s lower jaw.
“Maybe.” Daphne replied before she couldn’t think anymore.

James Potter, despite his reputation as a womanizer, had never liked a girl. He flirted with Lily, but that was different because neither of them would nor could like the other. No, the only person that he had ever liked was Regulus Black.
James could never decide whether it was a bonus or a downside that Regulus was his best friend’s little brother. On the one hand, it meant that if he ever married Reg (which he planned to), they would be brothers-in-law. On the other hand, Sirius Black was fiercely protective of his baby brother.
James and Reggie had been dating for several months now, and neither had the guts to tell Sirius yet. Perhaps they wouldn’t until they were out of school. But... maybe he would find out before then.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Should we tell him?”
“No, he’s a smart kid, let him figure it out himself.”
“Have you seen how blind he is?”
“I dunno, he notices random shit all the time.”
“So, what do you want to do, leave him clues?” came the sarcastic reply.
“Do you really want to sit him down and have that conversation with him? He’ll have questions, and I don’t want to answer that kind of question.”
“He’s going to have questions no matter how he finds out.”
“A few years? Please, just not yet.”
“The longer we wait the worse his reaction will be.” Remus pointed out.
“I can live with that.” Sirius said stubbornly.
“Fine.”
“Your name is Aster Williams, correct?”
“Yes.”
“And you are concerned for your sanity.”
“Yes.”
“Could you elaborate on that?”
“Well, umm... It’s hard to explain, so I guess I’ll start at the beginning. In my medical record it says I am an amnesiac, right?”
Rustling of paper. “Yes, it does.”
“I have no memory of anything from before seventeen years ago. Since then I have built a new life for myself. But when I first woke up, I had this feeling, like I had lost everything, but I couldn't remember what I’d lost. Then, every once in a while, I would feel these inexplicable emotions that weren’t connected to anything happening in my life.”
“And there was no cause at all for these emotions?”
“No. About a year after I woke up, I felt really happy for no reason, and not normal happiness, the kind of happiness you get when you have a new niece or nephew. Then, four years later, I felt this random grief, like I had lost a close friend. Then the unexplained emotions stopped for years, until... you remember when that mass murderer escaped prison a couple of years back? The one with the long black hair?”
“Sirius Black?”
“Yeah, him. When I saw him, I felt like I was seeing a close friend for the first time in years. Then a year later, the unexplainable grief was back, and when I was finally starting to feel normal again, a year later it was back again. Then, it eased up, until a few months ago, when I felt... gleeful. Like, really gleeful. The kind of glee from one of your mortal enemies dying without you having to lift a finger. And then, less than a month later, and I was back to grief, but this time, with a sort of loneliness mixed in that had never been there before. As if... my only friends were all gone.” Aster Williams, formally known as Mary Macdonald, told her therapist.
Marlene was dead. That was the one thing that Dorcus could think about. Marlene was dead and the people who did it would pay for it. She had taken the last couple of months to prepare, then she had started picking off death eaters like flies. Marlene was dead! She had been focusing on the ones near the top in order to free those who were under the impirius curse, leaving Voldemort with much less minions. Marlene Was Dead! She was going to bring down his entire operation if it killed her. MARLENE WAS DEAD!
Dorcus Medows had loved Marlene. Everyone who mattered to her knew that. People had tried to consol her after Marlene’s death. She had brushed them off. The only thing she was interested in now was murdering the BITCH who killed her. And perhaps making it slow, painful and torturous. It was a good, flawless plan.
She was currently examining the wards on Voldemort's current base of operation so she could break in and kill as many people as possible. They were very good wards. She could get in without getting maimed or killed, but they would still let Voldemort know she was there.
Well, better to get in and have him know about me than not get in at all, she thought.
So, she used her magic to part the deadly wards enough for her to get through and started running for the building. She climbed through a window and started to creep around the building trying not to alert any more people to her presence. Any time she came across someone she used some spell or another to maim, incapacitate, or kill them. It was when she ran into the big group that she had problems. There were too many spells being fired at her at once, and then, suddenly, Lord Voldemort himself showed up, slinging various deadly spells at her. She stayed in the game until she caught a crucio to the back, followed by the killing curse from the Dark Lord himself. Her last thoughts before she slipped away forever were, I’m sorry Marlene. I almost did it. I can’t wait to see you again.
Back in the present
“Yeah, really dumb, none of that could happen.” Ginny said firmly.
“Alright. Sure. I guess. I just felt like... I dunno, I just had this feeling.”
