Morning moony
Moony woke up to the smell of blood greeting his nostrils thus alarmed him but what alarmed him most was that he remembered he no longer is alone on a full moon could this be James or Peters blood Merlin he prayed please don’t be Sirius that’s when it hit him the consuming pain that was everywhere it made him want to claw himself out of his body but he couldn’t even move it’s ok he told himself it can’t be that bad but he still couldn’t shake the feeling that his friends could be injured so with all the might he had left in his fragile body he sat into an upright position well close to it as well as he could he could see a blob in the corner 2 no 3 blobs no not blobs people he couldn’t be sure but it was safe to assume it was the Mauraders even though he now knew that his friends were ok. He was still faced with two problems 1 he was likely bleeding to death 2 his friends were about to see how fragile he really was and that thought scared him what if they saw him as weak and not worth being theee friend he was so scared he hadn’t even noticed one blob was getting closer with another one at his heels slowly drawing closer to him. As soon as he noticed the pair he started to panik though he was also intrigued were these his friends if so why haven’t they abandoned him yet after seeing how weak he truly was to his surprise when his eyes finally adjusted he noticed the worried look in their eyes that wasn’t the surprise the surprise that they were worried for Remus not of him now Remus was just confused what is going on is he hallucinating that has to be it that’s the only rational answer to this there is no way anyone could look at him right now and feel anything but disgust at how weak he was it was the. that remys realised thee was no longer just James and Sirius but the blob in the back which he could now see was Peter was looking with a pitting worried look at him and biting his nails he then moved his head to get a better look at the two closer Mauraders this only gave him more agony so bad he nearly screamed instead choosing to bite his toungue and push his nails into the skin of his palm this though did not cerpress them groan of pain he let slip from his mouth leading to both james and Sirius jumping towards him James spoke with a matter of emergency to him “ moony u ok you look …. Well you have looked better does something hurt what hurts “ james had started to panic it was strange to moony he had never seen james panicked before he would have laughed if he was not In such pure agony at the moment he moony Remus John lupin had made the james potter the man that thrives under pressure to panic then he saw Sirius his face which broke Remus and removed all humour which he had only moments ago felt because Sirius had been crying this was evident from the tear streaks on his face the redness in his eyes and the fact his face was still scrunched in away Sirius only did when he had been crying he had been crying for Remus for him this confused remus in a way he could not explain why would he be the one to make Sirius cry and panic James that’s when he remembered he had been asked a question he quickly remembered what the questions was trying to understand how to gather an answer then said “ umm I’m well I’m how I look I guess he tryed to give James and Sirius a smile to comfort them at that but instead all he could manage was a small grimace before asking “ padfoot have you been crying “ he had tryed to make it sound more strong than it did after a few seconds a sad grin spread across Sirius’s face “ yeah numpty of course I’ve been crying ur … ur injured but u will be ok .. right … has this happened before have you been this injured before “ Remus smiled ( well a sort of smile it was weighed down by the pain evident on his face ) at the concern in his friends face wow his friends do actually care then tried to remember when he last felt this much pain it didn’t that to long “ yes this has happened before it’s actually not that uncommon I’ll be fine… I think probably depending on how much blood I’ve lost “ this shocked both Sirius and James who had not prepared for Remus to have had this happen before but quickly recovered with the last part of Remus’s response that scared them so clearly it was plastered on there faces that Remus started to worry not for himself but for them if he did die what would happen to them the just showed that they cared for him but perhaps they didn’t care that much not a such as he thinks maybe they would forget him in a few days then it hit him Madame promfrey she came in every morning to check he was ok if she came in Now Peter James and Sirius would be in so much trouble he had to warn them the friends immediately picked up on the look of fear on moony’s face before they could even wonder Peter had figured it out “ Madame pomfrey she will be down to check on remus any minute we have to leave she will help him but if we are caught we will be thrown out of school please we need to go “. He added the last part when he saw the look of refusal grow on his friends face they glanced at Remus who nodded given them the approval they needed Sirius still looked resistant to leave but with James hand grabbing his shoulder guiding him out of the room he left this left Remus alone
And he was alone utterly alone slowly bleeding out for about 10 seconds before Madame pomfrey burst through the door asking if he was ok causally then she saw him gasping he knew she would do that she did it every time he didn’t even think she knew she did it I think it was jyst instinct to her it still hurt him even more to see her face shrivel up in worry when seeing him so vunrable he knew that it wasn’t his fault yet it always felt like it was
Eventually after a lot of pain and work Remus was moved into the sick bay where he remained for a week unconscious
Meanwhile Sirius has been spiralling ever since he saw the pain on moony s face their moony no not theirs his his moony James had tried to talk and reason with Sirius but he refused to listen and continued to stress and worry and blame himself for Remus’s injury James and Peter had been stressed to they all found ways to try distract themselves Peter started to cook and bake more often he made breakfast lunch dinner desserts and snacks for all three of them and made get better soon cakes muffins and of course chocolate for Remus he decided to be optimistic but his optimism started to falter slightly after 5 days had pasted and Remus was still not even awake james had tried to distract himself with more work he had done all extra credit work for all of next year and went to quidditch practise 5 times a day spending at least 5 hours a day there although this had been a great distracting for the first couple days he was starting to burn out now and was exhausted from the amount of sleep he missed but most importantly he missed Two out of his three best friends Peter was great but it wasn’t the marauders without moony or pad foot Sirius had taken to locking himself away he had went to one of his classes in the past week his grades had hit an all time low he had only went to the one cause James had forced him to and he Gad felt bad James was also going through the stress of moony being injured how he could he refuse to go to one class but after that he was to stressed and worried to think of anything but his worry for moony and his hatred of himself for causing it he knew he was being irrational blaming himself but he couldn’t help it all he could think was I could have done something I could have stopped this then he would start to spiral more until he was crying in the floor begging someone anyone that moony would wake up he needed him he hadn’t noticed how much Remus meant to him he still didn’t understand why yes it’s his best friend but he has Peter and James and it’s different with Remus more raw more emotional that’s when it hit him like a slap to the face his friendship with Remus had always been different from any other friend ship he always thought it was just was because Remus was a bit different to his other friends in a good way he always made Sirius just positively melt Sirius always felt like he understood him and felt a need to impress him but now Sirius was not so sure that was because they were good friends and more to do with how Sirius felt when he saw Remus butterflies erupted from his stomach and how he got angry when Remus announced he was dating someone ( and was secretly relieved when they broke up ) Merlin he was utterly and truly in love with moony his moony
