Dear diary, I'm starting to believe that all the adults in dad's group are a bit exaggerated and paranoid.
When everyone arrived for lunch and started asking about Tom, we told them the whole story and they all seemed horrified. When I told them I wanted to adopt him, they looked at me as if I had killed someone and was laughing over the corpse. I couldn't help but roll my eyes.
Soon everyone was telling me why it would be a very bad idea, but all I could think about was little Tom just waking up with his hair all messy, Tom playing with a nymph toy in the bathtub, and Tom falling because his shoelaces were tied wrong. If that was a prospect of a dark lord, then I was a dark lord in all my rights and dad would be a dark king.
I told them, managing to silence them and turn to look at Tom, who was trying to give me his most threatening look, which only reinforced my words that he was absolutely adorable, especially when his cheeks were completely red.
In the end, dad said that he had also noticed all that and that it was still better to keep an eye on him just in case.
It was decided that Lucy and Cissy would be his godparents and with them we went to Gringotts. When dad was about to adopt him by blood, Tom said he would like to change his name, he wanted to be called Julius. I suggested that his middle name be Evert, and he agreed.
So Julius Evert Prince was born that day, even his birthday changed to today. The Malfoys made their promises as godparents.
Leaving Gringotts, I, as a good older brother, bought him a caramel and cookie ice cream, and dad bought me my favorite treacle and mint (actually dad bought both ice creams, but it was my idea). Little Julius got his whole face dirty, but he was smiling and that was the important thing.
The day ended peacefully, and now I can show Xavier what it means to be a good older brother.
