Concerns and Realizations
Malfoy Manor, continued
"WHAT?"
Narcissa couldn't believe her ears.
Cassie sighed. "You heard me Narcissa. Do he ever see the body?"
"You can't possibly want me to ask him that. Aunt Cassie, he's having a hard enough time! I'm not going to try and traumatize him more. Oh, Lucius, honey, I know you are upset and believe me, so am I but I need to know... Did you see Aurelia's body? Do you know where she's buried? Or did you just believe your father? HONESTLY?!"
She turned and looked at her aunt. Cassie sat there with an unimpressed look upon her face.
"Really Narcissa, save the dramatics. It is a simple question. Yes, it may upset him more, but it's important. Yes, I remember Abraxas. He was a piece of work. I also knew Lysithea. She loved children. If there was never any proof of a body, perhaps she was able to remove that little girl and saved her. She died so long ago that we can't ask her."
Narcissa froze.
If Lysithea did rescue Aurelia, then.... Aurelia could be in trouble. But Draco was feeling it at Hogwarts?
Aurelia was a squib. She couldn't be the cause....
"I see you've come to the same conclusion I have, Narcissa."
"Aurelia might have lived... And she might have a child at Hogwarts."
The sound of glass shattering behind her startled her. "LUCIUS?!"
Hogwarts, Next morning
Great Hall
Harry was nervous. He was also excited. The mandrakes should be ready by the end of the week. Hermione will be back! She'll be back and we can talk and she'll be back!!
Harry's excitement was contagious throughout the Gryffindor table. Everyone felt cheery. It was going to be a great day.
Slytherin Table
Draco was miserable. That stupid pull was continuous. It wouldn't stop.
How annoying. Please stop. Please. Just please.
He was finding it hard to concentrate on classes. He'd already been asked if he was okay more times than he cared to remember. (Three by Blaise, five by Theo, two by Crabbe & Goyle, another two times by Tracey Davis, once by Daphne Greengrass, and once by Marcus Flint his Quidditch captain). He just kept rubbing against his chest. The feeling was annoying.
He rubbed again against his chest, wishing it would stop. "Mister Malfoy?"
Draco looked up to see Professor Snape standing behind him, Pansy next to him.
"Professor?"
"Miss Parkinson says you seem to be in pain? Messers Zambini and Nott also mentioned it yesterday. It seems it is not stopping. Head to the Hospital Wing immediately. I will floo call to let your father know."
Snape walked away with a flourish of his robes. "Seriously Pansy! You too, Blaise, Theo?!"
Great, just great. Everyone told Snape on me? Now he's going to floo and tell Mother. She's going to be upset I didnt mention it was worse. She's going to be worried. Ugh!
"You keep doing that. See you're doing it right now. Clearly you're messed up. Pomphrey can check you out." Blaise waved him off.
"Blaise is right, Draco. Something's clearly off. It's been over a week." Theo chimed in.
"Fine. I'll go." Draco grabbed his things and hurried off to the Hospital Wing, the strange pull and ache only getting stronger as he walked.
