Spiderman attends Hogwarts
“Well…” Peter was interrupted by Dumbledore, Fudge, and a few more people wielding cameras, bursting back into the room-excluding Dumbledore, who walked calmly. Fudge loudly announced, “I have just been informed that Harry Potter, the boy who lied, is missing. And in his place appeared, Spiderman. A muggle boy, Harry’s age with the abilities of a spider. Since, he now knows our secret and may be connected to Harry’s disappearance, we cannot obliviate him and have no other choice but to admit him to Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. There will be no further questions at this time.”
Fudge left the room, the camera men following close behind him, after snapping a few more pictures of Peter. “Uh, what just happened?”
“Cornelious Fudge just happened, Peter” Ron said, rolling his eyes. “I’m so confused right now” Dumbledore approached Peter, “I must be going Peter, Fudge only gave me a ten-minute grace period. Don’t fear, everything will work out” Dumbledore then abruptly disappeared. Leaving Peter in a state of complete and utter confusion. He turned to face Dumbledore’s army, “So, what happens now?”
“I suppose you go to Hogwarts”
“Where Umbridge is still the headmaster”
“Merlin’s beard Hermione, you’re right!”
“Course I am Ronald”
Peter interrupted, “You guys, I still have a lot of questions”
“We can answer them. Just give us a moment alright” Peter rolled his eyes. He didn’t mean to come off as rude but, he felt his knowledge of his new situation far outweighed whatever they were talking about. After a long while of whispering to themselves, Dumbledore’s army finally turned around to face Peter. Ginny asked, “Alright Peter, what do you need to know?”
“Well, uh… I guess to start off, why did Dumbledore disappear?”
“He dissaperated”
“Yeah, right, sorry”
“Well, Dumbledore is currently an outlaw. He’s been on the run from Fudge”
“What did he do?”
“Nothing, our horrid teacher, Umbridge convinced the Ministry that we’re a secret student society he appointed to overtake them”
“But aren’t you Dumbledore’s army?”
“Yeah, but we’re not trying to overtake the Ministry. Harry formed this group to help destroy You-know-who”
“No, I really don’t know who”
“We don’t speak his name. He’s the first man you met when you got here”
“Oh, the nose less bald guy?”
Ginny giggled, “Yeah him… Anyway, what’s your next question?”
“What’s Hogwarts?”
“Hogwarts is our school where we learn charms, potions, herbology, stuff like that”
“And I’m being transferred there?”
“It would seem so” Peter composed himself, he must focus on getting back home and the best way to do that is to not get into trouble and to do what he’s told so he’ll have enough time to figure it out. Suddenly, Peter’s spidy sense creeped up his spine and he quickly turned around to see a short woman covered in pink that smelled like cat litter. She seemed sweet but like there was something sinister hiding behind her eyes.
“Why, hello Mr. Parker. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Dolores Umbridge, headmistress of Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. You will do just fine there if you know how to follow rules strictly”
“It’s nice to meet you. I’ll uh, try my best”
“That’ll do for now” Umbridge smiled sweetly and waddled off into the distance. Peter turned back around to face Dumbledore’s army. “Oh, I just can’t stand that woman”
“Yeah, I can’t believe she’s still our headmistress”
“Peter?”
“Yeah Neville”
“How’d you know Umbridge was about to approach you?”
“Oh, I kind of have like a sixth sense that alerts me whenever there’s danger or a surprise or something. I don’t really know how it works”
“That’s really neat”
“Thanks, but why do we hate Umbridge so much?” Hermione grabbed Peter’s arm and walked him towards an exit, “Well, she’s perfectly horrible. She hasn’t taught us anything on how to defend ourselves, which is why Harry banded us together in the first place. Then she started setting these awful rules that restricted us from doing anything. And she even used veritaserum on us when we didn’t even do anything illegal!”
“Don’t forget how she almost used an unforgivable curse on Harry”
“Yes, that’s right Ronald! She nearly tortured Harry Potter!”
“I’m sorry guys but I really don’t know what you're talking about”
“You’ll find out soon Peter”
“Okay?” The group exited through a fireplace. Peter has never been so confused in his life. What planet has he landed on? The group ended up in a gigantic roofless room topped with floating candles. Peter looked around the room in awe. “Oh my gosh! This is insane! What happens when it rains?” Hermione giggled. “It’s not real, the ceiling. It’s just bewitched to look like the night sky. I read about it in Hogwarts, A History” Ron said pretentiously. The group laughed but Hermione’s face turned stern, and she rolled her eyes. “You think it’s funny to mock me, Ronald. I was only eleven”
“Maybe now you’ll realize why Harry and I didn’t want to be your friends back then”
“You came around after the troll attack, didn’t you?”
“Guys, I’m really sorry to interrupt, but where are we? And what are the physics behind those candles, I can’t see any strings. Maybe I can swing around the room to get a better look…”
“Peter!” Peter jumped out of his thought, “What?”
“This is the great hall. Peter, you're in Hogwarts!”
“This is Hogwarts? This room is bigger than my aunt’s entire apartment!”
“Wait until you see it from the outside” Peter’s body filled with excitement as he was led a long way outside the building, taking in the incredible view of the truly magical interior. Peter completely forgot that he had just changed universes and became utterly lost in the beauty of this strange place.
It felt like something out of dungeons and dragons. Peter could even imagine it as an overly expensive Lego set. After what felt like ages wondering through the area like a bright-eyed child walking around Disneyland for the first time. Everyone arrived at the entrance of the school. Peter eagerly sprinted outside and almost screamed at the sight of the castle! “Oh, my freaking gosh!” The rest stood proudly in front of their school. But Peter couldn’t help himself. He pushed off his feet and flew around the castle on his webs. “Whoo!” Swinging through the city and the view from the highest point of the empire state building doesn’t even compare to swinging around the towers and the view of Hogwarts from the sky. When Peter finally landed back down on the ground, he questioned whether he wanted to go back home at all.
