After my shopping trip with Euphemia, which was paid for by Tom, Tom and I became friends. It was weird because we never used to talk, but now we talk every day. Soon after, I noticed he was cute, but then I realized that the more we got to know each other, the more I liked him. I tried to ignore the feelings, but they grew stronger and became worse—love. So, I decided to just ignore them for the time being.
"Hey, come on, I'm kidnapping you," I said to Tom.
"Why?" he asked.
"Because I was bored and I realized there is a Hogwarts secret I haven't explored yet, and I don't want to do it alone," I replied.
"Lead the way."
As we went to the grand staircase, Tom realized that I hadn't told him what the secret was.
"What's the secret that we're finding?" he asked.
"Well, I want it to be a surprise, but I'll give you a hint: It's a founder's secret," I said.
"So why are we in the girl's bathroom?"
"Just wait a moment, Asstherith," I said in Parseltongue as I looked at a snake carving.
"Why did you just say 'friend stealer'?" Tom asked.
"I didn't know you were a Parselmouth," I said, as the sink started to move.
"What's happening right now?!"
Once there was a hole in the ground, I said, "Ready?"
"For what?"
"For this!" I said, grabbing his hand and jumping in. Tom didn't stop screaming until we started sliding down a tunnel.
"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked as we were sling down.
"Tell you what?" he asks
"That you could talk to snakes," I state
"Oh, I thought it was a normal thing." He says
"It's not-" I was going to say, but was interrupted by crashing into a pile of bones. "Ew," I said while getting up. "Anyways, what I was trying to say was that the only descendants of Slytherin himself are parselmouths."
"Wait, does that mean we're related?" He panicked.
"Oh no, we're not related. I only know that word because Ominis used to say that all the time to Sebastion when we would sneak off," I explained.
"Wait, isn't that your uncle and dad?" Tom said, clearly confused about what I just said.
"Yeah. Anyway, let's hurry. We have a couple more hours before the sun rises," I said, looking at my watch.
Tom agreed, and we continued walking through the tunnel. We only stopped when we got to a huge stone door with snakes carved into it. I just looked at Tom and said, "Your turn."
"Wait, what?" he said. "Why is it my turn?"
"Because I only know that word in parseltongue and I don't want to reuse it now knowing you can understand me," I explained. "I also want to hear you speak it."
"Okay, fine. Asstherithius," he said, looking at the door. "How did you know about this anyway?" he asked while the door was opening.
"Well, I heard about it when one of my uncle's relatives came over, and they were arguing about it," I answered.
"Woah, this is cooler than I thought," I said once we walked in. While I was looking around, Tom suddenly shoved me behind him and told me to close my eyes. So I did until I heard him talking in parseltongue. When I opened my eyes, I saw what was happening. A basilisk was right in front of us, and Tom was trying to convince it to leave, or at least I was hoping that.
Once it left, Tom turned to face me, and I instantly hugged him and said, "You just saved my life." Without even thinking, I held his face in my hand and kissed him. I quickly pulled away when I realized what I was doing and left. But when I tried to leave, Tom grabbed my hand, pulled me back, and kissed me with passion. It then became a competition to see who could kiss the other with more passion.
Years later I was back at the shop with Euphemia. She started to help me when Penny passed away. I have never been more grateful since then.
“Hey mom.” she said as I walked in.
“Hey sweetheart” I say, “I have favor to ask of you”
“Sure what do you need?” she said without hesitation.
“Can you take over the store while I go on a business trip for a couple weeks?” I ask.
“Of course.” she says.
“Thank you, you are a godsend,” I tell as I toss her the keys.
“It’s not a problem at all mom,” Euphemia says
“Speaking of that, you and that potter boy better be safe while I’m gone,” I say, making her blush.
“Moom.” Euphemia say embarrassed.
“I’m just joking sweetheart,” I say “please take care of Charity and James while I’m gone though.”
“I will, now you better get going before you’re late.” she says while looking at the cats.
“Okay fine, bye love you.” I tell her knowing this is the last time I will see her.
“Love you too” she says as I walk out.
I then go to the ministry and transfer everything I own in her name. After that I head to a cabin I had out in the woods and wait for Avery to come.
“What was his first name again? I always forget it.” I say to myself. Before I could even I was on the ground and couldn’t move. I later found out why. At my funeral that was not fun at all.
