New year, new home, new start.
James Potter hasn’t had a great year and is dying to leave for college, he’s been busy packing his things and buying stuff for his new dorm the past week, so he hasn’t really spent time with his parents. That’s the hard part about leaving for school, he has to leave his family. James is an only child, so it’s always just been him, his mum- Euphemia Potter, also known as Effie and his dad-Fleamont Potter. He already knows he’s gonna miss them, but he also knows how proud of him they are for getting into college, so he can’t let them down, plus he’s super excited to meet new people, make new friends and that he’s going with his high school love, Lily Evans. Now, james and Lily are what people would call soulmates, they have been together since they were 14, now they are both 19 and still in a healthy relationship. But how long will that last? Will they last forever? Is it destiny?
James’s POV
I always thought I would be going to school near home, near family, but I guess not. Its so weird packing up my childhood room, remembering all the amazing memories I had in here, like the first time me and Lily…. You know what, I’m not gonna repeat that, we just have some amazing memories, but we will make so many new ones like late night walks through the grounds, skipping class to… fool around… but I don’t think mum would be so happy with that or well I guess what she doesn’t know can’t hurt her.
Me and Lily are now on our way to the train station, the sky is dull and the sun is hidden. “Lils?” I say, “We are making the correct choice, right?” I asked, a little sad to be leaving my whole life behind “Of course, we are Jamie, we got into our dream school. Together. Why yes today may be a bit dull and dark, that doesn't mean our whole lives will be like that, I promise.” Lily said in the sweetest voice ever, she’s the only one I let call me that, Jamie, I used to hate it but it grew on me- only with my lily flowers voice though- “I love you my flower” I turned to lily and whispered, also placing a gentile kiss on her cheek “I love you too, potter” lily whispered back but in a slightly seductive tone, now the thing with Lils is she only calls me potter when she’s feeling frisky… hearing her call me that made me blush.. a lot... but I’m not in the mood for anything right now so I gently say “maybe not right now, love. I’m just not feeling it cuz well you know I’ve just left my whole life and family behind I just need a breather for a bit, I’m so sorry honey” I feel bad after telling her I don’t want to do anything, but I don’t want to force myself to do anything. Today’s been a big day... “that’s so okay Jamie, you don’t have to say sorry for anything I promise. We do stuff when you feel comfortable not when I just feel like it” lily said surprisingly understanding. I really love lily, if that wasn’t obvious.
The train finally comes to a stop after hours of tunnels and stops at other stations on the way. Luckily for them the station is only like a ten-minute walk to and from the school, so they don’t have to mess about trying to get a taxi. They grab all their belongings and make their way to the school grounds, it’s a lot bigger than they remember, there’s the multiple school buildings, all the student accommodation buildings, the gardens, which Lily took a particular liking to, and lastly the main hall where they had to go to sign in and get their dorm keys. “Excuse me ma’am?” james asked quietly, he cleared his throat and asked again “E-excuse me?” he says yet again, still quietly, lily sighed and said very clearly “Excuse me, ma’am we have just arrived after a long day of travel and would really appreciate some help” she kinda barked it at the lady behind the front desk as she was pissed that she hadn’t answered james, lily is very protective of her shy boyfriend, the lady answered Lily pretty much straight away “Names?” the lady asked in a very dull tone “Lily Evans” Lily answered with a proud brave voice “James, James potter” James answered after, he clearly took some of Lilys confidence as he sounded more brave and not as shy. After a few minutes the lady hands them both a clipboard each “sign those then I’ll give you your keys and get someone to take you to your dorms” she says very dry, both finish signing and had them back to her, she then shouts two people to come and show them to their dorms “oh, thank you ma’am!” James says as they start walking away.
The Meet
as Lily and james get separated into different corridors they shout goodbye and head their different ways, the guy leading james to his dorm seems very quiet but suddenly he just stops “we’re here, this is you.” The man says to james as james takes his key and opens the door “thank you, have a nice day!” james says happily, as james pushes the door open he sees a guy around his age maybe a bit younger in there, but he’s not just stood there, he has music blasting through his headphones, just loud enough so james can hear it, he seems to be listening to “someone new” by Hozier, james chuckles a bit as he sees the young man dancing round as the guy turns round whilst dancing he jumps a bit as he sees james stood in the doorway smiling at him, he takes his headphones off and says “oh! You must be my new roommate, yeah?” his voice is just so AHHH, he has a strong French accent, such a handsome voice. James melts a little after hearing his voice not realizing it, “i- uh... yeah, yeah hi I am, I’m james, james potter.” James says, he’s clearly awe-ing over the guy without quite noticing it. “Well nice to meet you james, james potter.” He takes the piss out of james a little then sticks his hand out “I’m regulus, regulus black, but my friends call me reg” james shakes his hand and says “well, it’s nice to meet you… reg..” he smiles then quickly says “are you French?" “oui” regulus says, james just goes speechless and a tad bit red, regulus notices this and smiles “so, what are you studying here?” he asks quite interested. “uhh, psychology…” james says trying to sound smart “oh, really? That’s so cool!” regulus exclaims. “and what about you? What are you studying? James asked reg now seeming interested since he thought psychology was cool “oh I’m studying poetry its not a cool as psychology but its pretty nice once you get the hang of it” James smiles again “woah, you have to be pretty smart for that!” reg looks at him with dreamy eyes, now james is looking at him properly, he’s noticing that he has long black wavy hair and grey-blue eyes, along with his accent he was actually perfect. “So, uh, have you got a girlfriend? Or boyfriend?! I don’t judge.” Regulus asks james, his accent slipping out lots and it just puts james into a confused panic. “oh! Yeah, I have a girlfriend, she’s actually studying here too!” james says very proudly “we’ve actually been together pretty much out whole life.” Regulus’s face changes slightly when james said he has a girlfriend, but he quickly changes the subject and starts asking about james and trying to get to know him.
“So james, it would me awesome to get to know each other more so how about a game of 20 questions or something like that?” Regulus asks James, Reg really wants to know James and know he can trust him because he has somethings that he has to tell James if he is his roommate. “Yes! That would be amazing, I would love to get to know you.” James quickly reply’s, “I’ll let you ask first.” James adds. “Okay sure, what’s your favourite movie?” Regulus asks hoping it’s the same as his “Ooo, LOVE Spiderman, like actually love it… almost as much as I love Lily.” James chuckles to himself when he says that last part because everyone knows he love Lily more than anything. “And what about you? What’s your favourite?” james asks. “I’m so glad you asked, I love Titanic, like the romance and the angst, I live for that” Regulus seemed very happy that james asked him, the man loves romance, and he wants to make that very clear. ”Do you read?” reg asks in a very calming voice “Well, uhh, I read comics? Does that count?” James chuckled as he said that just realizing how stupid he sounds, “Not really” Regulus jokes “Or, well I guess it could count for something”
As a few hours go by of them getting to know each other they realize how late its got. “Jesus Christ, its half 12… Don’t classes start at like five tomorrow?” james quickly adds. “Oh yeah… so Ima head to bed now, I suggest you do the same if you don’t wanna be murdered…” regulus jokes as he starts walking towards his room. James grabs all his stuff that’s just been sat in the small living room and heads into his dorm.
Regulus black
“He's perfect, how is it someone can be so perfect? His eyes are hypnotic, so easy to get lost in….and…Jesus, what am I doing? I just met this man, plus...i have my boys, they’re all I need.”
Regulus is lying on top of his bed, staring at the ceiling with his headphones on, his gray eyes start to feel heavy as he’s drifting off. The whole world feels quiet, not silent, just…quiet. It’s a full moon tonight, reg’s favourite, because the night he got out of his god-awful home…it was a full moon. Its been a few years since he got out his home, but he’s gotten into a bit of trouble being out in the real world, but he met someone, Evan rosier, part of one of the wealthiest families in London and Barty Crouch Jr, his father is a very famous lawyer.
a few moments later, regulus falls asleep whilst thinking of his boys, but now also…james? He just met this man how could he already be thinking of him like this? Hours go by as james infiltrates his thoughts, and suddenly its sunrise. Gosh has he really been making scenarios in his head this whole time.
His alarm goes off, which snaps his awake as he quickly forgets everything he’s been thinking about.
He gets up and dressed for the day, he’s wearing a cropped nirvana band shirt and some black distressed denim shorts… and all his jewellery obviously, his, bracelets, necklaces, and multiple rings on most fingers. He grabs his headphones and walks out his room.
First day
“James!” he shouts, “if you don’t get up now your professor will kill you!” james is already in the kitchen laughing at regulus shouting him “I’m already up mate, I like to go on early runs” “jesus christ, you’re a psychopath, who runs this early in the morning!?” regulus says with a sarcastic gasp. “Me! I do! I gotta keep this fit body up somehow” james chuckles “no wonder all the girls want me, check these babies out” james slowly lifts his shirt showing off his abbs, his hot, glistening abbs. Reggie, however, was midway through drinking his coffee, he turns round to james and chokes seeing his abbs. “holy shi-“he mumbles, coffee dripping down his chin “james! You can’t just…I mean…I…. they’re not bad…. oh Jesus, just put your shirt back on!” regulus stutters, his cheeks go bright red, and he has to look away. “yes Sir” james obliged jokingly, regulus rolls his eyes. “…are you drinking black coffee?” james says with a disgusted face. “Yes, yes I am. I like it strong, like my men” he looks james up and down. “YOU’RE GAY?!” james shouts, sounding a bit more excited than he should. “No, I’m bi, I just have a preference of men. Especially my boys” regulus says whilst trying to clean up the coffee he spilt everywhere. “Your boys? As in boyfriends? You have more then one?” james asks sounding more interested than confused. “Yes james, more than one. Barty and Evan, they’re pretty amazing actually” regulus says in an adoring tone, looking out the window thinking about his boys. His perfect, amazing boys. “you have a girlfriend, right?” Reggie asks “that I do, shes the best. My perfect lily flower.” James says in awe “she’s coming over tonight… if you want to meet her?” james tells regulus “oh cool, my boys are coming too… but I think we’re just gonna hang in my room…” reggie says with a seductive tone “I mean…you two can join if you want, we’re open…” he whispers to james. “I…uhm…” James stutters “I uhm think im gonna head to my first class….see you later….” He says embarrassingly and walks out the door. Regulus thinks about what he just said and turns bright red. “oh fuck what did I just do….i did not say that out loud right? Hes gonna hate me…” he thinks as his brain is overflowing with the toxic what ifs and what he’s going to tell his boys……
as james is walking to his first class he can’t stop thinking about that situation.
suddenly he sees lily, his perfect beautiful lily, walking through one of the many corridors
“lils!” he shouts, exited to see her. “jamsie!” she jogs over to him and wraps her arms around his shoulders. “my love, how are you?” lily calmly askes with a sleepy undertone to her voice, whilst kissing his neck and cheek.
“I’m okay my sweet angel, hungry but okay. What about you? How are you, gorgeous?” he looks at her, his eyes filled with love (and sleepiness) oh how he loves her, his sweet perfect lily flower.
“I’m okay, I couldn’t get my eyeliner right so I had to go without, but I think I’m okay” she smiles.
james turns his head and kisses her, “well I’m glad you’re okay lovebug. and may I say, you look absolutely breath taking” james whispers in her ear as he leans to kiss her “I can’t wait to have you *all to myself* tonight.” He purrs against her ear “all mine” one last kiss before he puts her down and heads down the hallway.
He leaves lily all flustered, so rude of him! “what! No…you you can’t just leave me like that!!”
James chuckles hearing that “have a good day love” he shouts.
