Summary
Regulus is overseas in Europe fighting World War 2, and James is in America training new soldiers. They keep in touch through letters, sent from the heart of enemy lines, through tragedy, heartbreak and eventually a happy ending for them all.

Dear James,
Happy 4th of July. I hope you were able to enjoy it. Our journey has progressed far slower than expected. While Remus is slowly getting better, his health is still dangerously low. We expect to stop at a field hospital soon, so perhaps they may be able to help. We have spotted many soldiers, and it is a minefield of hazards with no advantages here. It pains me to see Remus like this, but he must push through, or we will all be lost. Carry faith in your recruits, for they may show courage when it truly counts. Good luck and I can't wait to see you again.
