Summary
Regulus is overseas in Europe fighting World War 2, and James is in America training new soldiers. They keep in touch through letters, sent from the heart of enemy lines, through tragedy, heartbreak and eventually a happy ending for them all.

Dear James,
We currently stay hidden, scouting German bunkers and doing our best to destroy them. We remain close to our original location, in hope Remus makes his way back, but so far, our efforts have fallen short. Dorcas should not have come. France grows more dangerous by the day and chances of survival become slimmer. We have met a few people, Alice and Frank, who are spying for the Allies. They are good people, and they were able to get into contact with a few other spies. We were able to get a bit more ammunition. They could not spare much, but we will take anything. Food is scarce, and we have not had more than a few bites of bread in many days. Please do not grieve forever if I die. I would not want that.
