Summary
Regulus is overseas in Europe fighting World War 2, and James is in America training new soldiers. They keep in touch through letters, sent from the heart of enemy lines, through tragedy, heartbreak and eventually a happy ending for them all.

My dearest Reggie,
I cannot do anything but worry. Sirius tells me to focus on my work, but all I can think of is you in pain and suffering. Please come home. I need you. The war has impacted even the richest of families, the poorest now near starvation. We manage, though not as well as we would like. It is often we go to bed with empty stomachs. Sirius has been helping with training and most are now quite proficient with a gun, but knives, not so much.
