Summary
Regulus is overseas in Europe fighting World War 2, and James is in America training new soldiers. They keep in touch through letters, sent from the heart of enemy lines, through tragedy, heartbreak and eventually a happy ending for them all.

Dear James,
As I write this, we are on a boat to France, Normandy in fact, in an attempt to stop the Germans. We are to arrive under the cover of darkness by the 15th. If the future did not seem so bleak, the view would be quite breathtaking. None of us know whether we will survive the next week. Remus especially, for he fears he will never return to Sirius. I am not allowed to mention more, for fear this letter is intercepted. My fondest wishes and forever love,
