Remus lies awake that night, staring at the ceiling. Every bone is his body tells him- screams for him not to but he knows it must be done, for Sirius’ sake. He replays the memories in his head, memories of Sirius and him in class, in the common room, and in his dorm. Tears start to well in his eyes as he rolls over, trying to hold back the sobs.
“Moony!” Sirius smiled, walking up the astronomy tower stairs.
“Pads.” Remus blushed red, standing up.
Sirius walked up to Remus, throwing his arms around him and hugging him tightly. If Remus could’ve blush more, he would’ve been redder than a tomato. God, everything Sirius does made Remus fall even more hopelessly in love with him. He watched as Sirius began to look around curiously, wondering why Remus had invited him up here so late at night.
“So, what are we doing up here?” He asked, turning back to Remus.
“I- um… I wanted to tell you something.” Remus said nervously as he shifted his weight.
“Oh, okay. Go for it.” Sirius laughed lightly.
“Um, fuck. Okay, Sirius, I- uhh.” He stuttered, but Sirius’ doe eyed expression made him stop and turn away.
“Are you okay, Remus?” Sirius put a hand on Remus’ arm.
“I think I’m in love with you.” He blurted out. “I am in love with you, Pads.”
Remus looked at Sirius and saw the shocked expression on his face. All hope he had of Sirius liking him back had now vanished.
“Clearly you don't feel the same, I’m sorry, I won't bother you again.” Remus said, walking away before he felt himself get yanked back.
Sirius had grabbed his wrist, making them face each other as he crashed his lips into Remus’. Remus stood in shock before immediately kissing him back. Their mouths moved in sync, both of them fighting for dominance. Sirius pulled away and smiled widely, blushing hard.
“I’m in love with you too.” He whispered quickly, immediately putting his mouth back on the other’s.
The kiss feels better than either of them imagined, it was sloppy and there were too many teeth but it was perfect, perfect for both of them. They had spent the rest of the night on the astronomy tower, happy that they were finally together.
Remus can't hold back his tears anymore, the flood gates open and the waterworks flow as he cries himself to sleep.
