Dean and Cassie were on the plane home from their vacation. Cassie had found a beautiful flower and wanted to give it to Sloane to study. She had a feeling that Sloane would like it and would give it to her so she could study it. Cassie looked merrily out the window, with the plant in her lap *I cant wait to give it to Sloane. I don’t think she’s studied white carnations before.* She thought bemusedly.
Dean didn’t feel so optimistic about the flower. It looked a bit weird to him, almost like it was too pretty, too sweet- smelling, and too tempting to pick. But Cassie couldn’t resist the curious temptation to take it home and give it to Sloane, so there it was. Dean had told her that it didn't sit right with him, because wasn't it weird that there was one lone flower in a small clearing in a GIANT FOREST that's densely packed from every tree to moss pile? But she just said that "What harm could a flower do Dean? It's not like Sloane is going to eat it or anything." So he let her bring the flower on the plane, and to the house for Sloane.
Something was off about that flower; Dean was sure of it. He just wasn’t sure what it was, and if he had to work in kahoots with Sloane to find it out, then that's what he'll do.
