Chapter 2
After the exorbitant dinner, everyone went in the direction of their own houses.
The House of Slytherin was located in the basement of Hogwarts and was the third largest room in the castle, hidden under the Black Lake. The room was located near the Black Lake, from the large and narrow windows you could admire aquatic creatures of various kinds and the giant squid that inhabited the lake, was furnished with black leather sofas and armchairs, with five stone fireplaces and various portraits and paintings on them. To the east was the library, Merlin's manuscripts and alchemical books enriched the shelves. A long table graced the room where all the students went to study. The light inside the room was greenish because it reflected the depths of the lake. To access the dormitories there was a mahogany spiral staircase, like all the finishing touches there were snakes inlaid in the wood. At the top was a long corridor that led to your yearly dormitory. Four-poster beds with green-silver curtains and small armchairs furnished the small rooms; from the large windows, it was possible to admire the bottom of the Black Lake and the sound of the waters, which lightly beat against the large windows, created a sweet sound that allowed for a more than peaceful rest.
Lilith had ended up rooming with Pansy Parkinson, also a pureblood. She had very long raven hair, which contrasted with her pale skin, she had a small build and her grey-blue eyes made her even more cadaverous.
“I hope you don't mind sharing a room with me,” Lilith said, sitting on the four-poster bed.
"Not at all! I couldn't wait to get away from my friend Daphne Greengrass!” sighed Pansy, sitting down on her bed too.
“The blonde girl who did nothing but stare at my cousin Draco?” Lilith asked amused.
"Yes, she... she's always had a crush on your cousin, even though I've only ever seen her around Diagon Alley" Pansy replied, laughing and making the other girl laugh too.
They talked for another half hour and then each went to sleep in their beds, lulled by the sound of the water crashing against the windows.
"Lilith...are you awake?" Pansy murmured.
"Yes, I can't sleep.." the little girl murmured in turn.
"Me neither... do you want to go down together tomorrow?" the other asked.
"All right."
She had made friends with someone who was not her relative and was happy.

The door to the Transfiguration classroom opened as Ron and Harry hurried into the room.
"We made it. Can you imagine McGonagall's face if we were late?" asked Ron, looking at Harry as they approached the only two free seats in the room.
Suddenly the tabby cat that was sitting on the desk jumped into the air and transformed into McGonagall. Ron let out a sharp shout, making the whole room laugh.
“She was damn good!” Ron exclaimed, placing a hand on his chest.
“Oh, thank you for that review, Mr. Weasley. Perhaps it would be more useful if I turned Mr. Potter and you into pocket watches. At least one of you would be on time.” McGonagall replied with a small smile.
"We got lost," Harry said placing the books on his side of the coffee table.
“Maybe you need a map. I hope you still find your seats.” the woman replied and then continued the lesson.
Mattheo, who was at the last desk on the left, could observe him very well. She looked so fragile! He glanced at Lilith and shook his head. It was not yet time to act. At least not the first year.
The next class was Charms with Severus Snape as the teacher. The man was Draco's godfather and he spent his holidays and summers at the Malfoy or Riddle residence.
He entered the classroom and with a wave of his wand closed the curtains, making the room even more spooky.
“There will be no waving of wands or silly spells in this course. As such. I don't expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art of potion-making. However, to the few chosen by fate, who possess the predisposition, I can teach how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, prepare glory and even put a stop to death. However, perhaps some of you have come to Hogwarts with such formidable abilities that you feel complete enough..." Snape explained as he walked between the desks.
Lilith was sitting in front of the scar boy and all she could do was hear him whisper, he was absurdly annoying her.
"Put a stop to death..." Harry whispered to little avail as his voice could be heard throughout the classroom.
“...not to pay attention to. Mr. Potter. Our new celebrity. Tell me, what do I get if I pour some powdered asphodel root into an infusion of mugwort? You do not know? Well, let's try again. Where would you look, Potter, if I asked you to find me a bezoar?” he asked Harry aloud, standing in front of the boy.
“I… I don't know, sir.” the four-eyed man replied embarrassed.
“And what is the difference between aconite and luparia?” Snape asked impatiently, crossing his arms over his chest.
“I don't know, sir,” Harry admitted, looking down at the desk.
"Sin. It's clear that fame isn't everything. Right, Mr. Potter?” said Snape.
The boy could only nod.
“What do I get if I pour some powdered asphodel root into an infusion of mugwort?” Snape asked the class.
Lilith raised her arm, beating Granger who snorted, Snape nodded at her to give her the ok to speak.
“Originates a soporific potion so powerful that it goes by the name of Living Death Distillate,” Lilith replied after lowering her arm.
“Well, Miss Black, what is the difference between aconite and luparia?”
“Aconite is associated with chivalry or gallantry, while luparia can signify misanthropy or an aversion to others.” the girl replied again, glancing at Granger who snorted again. She was going to have a lot of fun at Hogwarts.
When the lesson with Snape ended, the dark trio began to leave the classroom but the golden trio, Potter, Granger and Weasley, stood in front of them.
“Great answers!” the Gryffindor said smugly.
“Thank you..” Lilith murmured.
“But it was my turn!” Granger exclaimed again surprising the Slytherin.
“Excuse me?” Lilith asked with wide eyes.
"Yes! Plus you made my friend look bad!” continued the little girl.
“If you have to Encyclopedia, it was your friend who didn't answer the questions asked by Professor Snape, so instead of blaming someone who had absolutely nothing to do with it, why don't you encourage your friend to learn?” Mattheo asked.
Granger opened and closed her mouth a few times. She didn't know what to say… something like this had never happened to her. He hated purebloods! So haughty and full of themselves!

Mattheo held his cousin's wrist firmly in his hand as they walked. He had to teach her to talk back if she didn't want to be bullied; she was too shy and that wasn't good!
“Theo, have you heard Bells?” Lilith asked as she tried to keep up with her cousin.
"Yes. Mother says things are going a bit like this... the light wizards do nothing but block the dark wizards' requests because they think we're on Grindelwald's side."
Mattheo, like the other Slytherins, hated the fact that the houses were divided into Light and Dark, it didn't make any sense! Yes, some houses studied and passed down the use of the Dark Arts, but not everyone was crazy!
A whistle behind them made them stop in the corridor.
Draco ran in their direction with a dark-skinned boy.
"Boys! I want to introduce you to Blaise Zabini!” the blond exclaimed, pointing to the boy.
“Nice to meet you” the boy bowed his head. Pure blood greeting symbol.
“Our pleasure,” said the two.
“I am Lilith Black,” the little girl said, bowing her head.
“And I'm Mattheo Riddle,” the other said in turn, making the same movement with his head.
“Where were you going?” Draco asked, placing himself at his cousin's side.
“We were going to the library to study” Mattheo replied, forcing the others to start walking again.
“Oh, do you mind if we join too?” Blaise asked.
“Absolutely not, Draco's friends are our friends,” Lilith replied.
Draco and Mattheo smiled.
