“You're doing what?!” Dawn shouted angrily/confused and Logan just squared his shoulders coldly.
“We will be siding with Manberg” He stated emotionlessly and Dawn made a disbelieving sound as she glanced at Soren, Sebastian, and Ezekiel, she was slightly comforted by the fact that Sebastian and Ezekiel didn’t look totally on board with this decision but the cold indifference on Logan and Soren’s faces burned her heart.
“Why the hell would you do that?! After everything he has done?!” She questioned angrily as she tried to push her feelings down with little success.
“I am the vice president of Manberg I have an obligation to side with Gabriel, the others simply agreed to support me” Logan said coldly and Dawn felt her heart twist slightly but she once again ignored it.
“You're also a member of my faction and we are supposed to be neutral” She growled out harshly only for her head to snap towards Soren when she heard him scoff.
“Neutral, right” He muttered disdainfully and Dawn’s eyes narrowed slightly.
“Do you have something to say Soren?” She questioned and the Alpha huffed as he gave her an unimpressed look.
“We all know you’ve been aiding Pogtopia Dawn, your plea for neutrality means nothing” He sneered and Dawn bared her teeth angrily not that any of them could see it.
“There are three pups struggling in a cave right now, two of which are on their last lives, so I’m sorry if I wanted to provide a little bit of support to them instead of a tyrannical monster who executed his own son!” She snapped furiously her eyes flashing bright gold as she observed all of their expressions.
Sebastian was doing an excellent job of hiding the emotions flashing through his eyes but Dawn could still read the conflict there.
Ezekiel was doing the same thing but a little less successfully which made Dawn’s heart hurt, he was just a pup he should never have been put in this kind of situation.
There was a brief flash of emotion in Soren’s eyes and she thought she might have gotten through to him but it was gone just as quickly as it had appeared.
Logan had remained completely emotionless, his eyes turned away from her to hide what he was feeling.
“You can’t change our minds Dawn” Logan stated uncaringly and Dawn felt her shoulders sag slightly as she realized she would not be able to get through to the Alpha.
“Fine, but Ezekiel shouldn’t be dragged into this” She said sternly and for the first time today, Logan actually showed emotion as his jaw dropped and he glanced at Ezekiel whose eyes had widened in surprise before he turned back to face her.
“What?” He questioned and Dawn squared her shoulders.
“Ezekiel is a pup and I will not allow you to force him to aid an abuser” She hissed and Logan sneered slightly.
“He’s a big boy, he can make his own decisions” He scoffed as he and Dawn turned to look at Ezekiel who was glancing between the two of them with an unsure expression on his face only to glance at Sebastian when he placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.
“You should go with Dawn” He said gently and Soren made a sound of disagreement but Ezekiel ignored him as he made his decision and quickly moved to stand beside Dawn who let out a soft sigh of relief, her desire to nuzzle the pup was strong but she resisted the urge for now.
“Really Zeke?” Logan questioned sadly and Ezekiel shrugged his shoulders.
“Sorry, Logan but I trust Dawn more” He said simply and a soft smile appeared on Dawn’s face while Logan grimaced slightly.
“Fine, I hope you don’t regret your decision” He stated coldly and Dawn placed a comforting arm around the pup's shoulders.
“Let’s go Zeke” She said softly and the young Alpha nodded as they began to walk away only for Dawn to pause so that she could glance back at Logan one last time.
“I was right to not make you king” She stated coldly and a hurt expression appeared on the Alpha’s face but she just ignored it as she turned away and resumed leading the younger Alpha away.
Briar made a great king and the only reason she had dethroned them in the first place was so that they wouldn’t be held back by the Greater Smp’s neutrality but it seems like that would no longer be an issue, looks like they would have a king once again.
Her eyebrows furrowed curiously as she felt her communicator buzz, she fished it out of her pocket wondering if it was one of her pups wondering where she was only for a warm smile to appear on her face when she saw what it was.
Sebastian whispered to Dawn: You’ve got my support
Sebastian whispered to Daen: I’ll keep an eye on Logan and Soren
Sebastian whispered to Daen: Keep Zeke safe
Dawn whispered to Sebastian: Thank you, Bast
Dawn whispered to Sebastian: I’ll keep all of the pups safe
Dawn whispered to Sebastian: You can count on that
She slipped her communicator back into her pocket as she turned to look at Ezekiel.
“When we get to my cottage you can take a shower while I make dinner okay?” She offered and Ezekiel nodded a little bit before giving her a curious look.
“You have a house?” He asked and Dawn’s jaw dropped a little in shock.
“Why does everyone think I’m homeless?!” She cried out in disbelief earning her a bright laugh from the pup.
“To be fair, I didn’t think you were homeless I just thought you lived in Briar’s castle” He tried to say comfortingly while also trying to reign in his laughter but Dawn flopped her head down in defeat which broke the damn and he started laughing once more.
