Sally
Callum gripped his arms tightly as his mother continued to berate him for the littlest of things like she had been doing since he joined Pogtopia. It had only been a few days since Julian’s heat had ended and they had gone to join Pogtopia, he had wanted to support his mom and protect his home but honestly, he wished he had taken up Dawn’s offer of staying at her cottage.
“Got nothing to say for yourself, traitor?” Sally sneered down at him and Callum gritted his teeth harshly, his mom wouldn’t even call him by his name he was just a traitor in her eyes.
“Go fuck yourself” He muttered disdainfully and Sally tilted her head to the side as a humourless smirk appeared on her face.
“You know better than to talk to your mother like that” She said patronizingly only to take a slight step back when Callum growled at her furiously as his eyes flashed gold.
“You are no mother of mine!” He hissed angrily before spinning on his heel and storming off, he wasn’t going to take this shit any longer! Sally had stopped being his mom a long time ago and he should have realized that sooner. Julian and Dawn were way more parental towards him than her, hell even after his betrayal Briar cared more about him than Sally did. That should have been the first clue that his mother wasn't who she used to be but he had been too blinded by his desperate desire to be wanted to notice, well not any longer.
Sally stared after her son with multiple emotions warring in her eyes before finally settling on contempt, Callum was just throwing a temper tantrum he’d be back sooner or later.
“That was quite the fight” A voice remarked from behind her startling her quite a bit but when she whirled around and saw that it was just Dawn standing there she allowed a bright smile to appear on her face.
“Just a bit of teenage rebellion, he’ll be back to apologize in a couple of hours” She said carelessly as she walked closer to the peach-clad woman only to blink in confusion when Dawn stepped away from her.
“He’s not the one who should be apologizing” She said seriously and Sally continued to blink at her in confusion.
“What?” She muttered baffled and Dawn let out a frustrated sigh as she shook her head tiredly.
“I heard what you were saying to him Sally” She revealed and Sally scoffed as she rolled her eyes.
“I was just telling that traitor the hard truths of life” She said uncaringly as she crossed her arms while Dawn growled under her breath.
“You won’t he even call him by his name!” She snapped angrily and Sally growled at her threateningly as her eyes flashed red which did not have the desired effect of having Dawn back off.
“He’s a traitor to his home and family!” Sally snapped back as she stormed closer to Dawn who just growled to keep her from invading her space too much.
“All he has ever done is try and make you proud of him and to have you give him an ounce of the attention you give to Ezran!” She shouted furiously and Sally’s eyes almost turned completely red as she ignored Dawn’s warning growl and got right into her face. So consumed in her anger that she didn’t even notice the faint smell of rotten flowers, her own scent of a raging storm overpowering it by a long shot.
“Ezran is my brother!” She snapped furiously only for Dawn to shove her backwards angrily.
“And Callum is your son! Or have you conveniently forgotten that?!” Dawn hissed and Sally glared at the stupid smiley mask before taking in a deep breath as she allowed a plastic smile to appear on her, the only trace of her anger being the red glow from her eyes.
“I don’t have the time to argue with you about such an insignificant matter when I have more important things to focus on, like the destruction of L’manberg” She said in a strangely giddy tone of voice as she turned on her heel and began walking away firmly believing that the conversation was over.
“I removed the TNT from underneath L'manberg” Dawn stated seriously and Sally stiffened up in shock.
“What?” She muttered in disbelief as she turned to back around to face Dawn who crossed her arms as she stared the Alpha down.
“I should have never given it to you in the first place Sally, destroying L’manberg won’t hurt Gabriel he doesn’t care about it he just cares about the power. The only people that will be hurt by its destruction are the people in this very cave that are fighting so hard for it and I won’t let them be hurt anymore” She tried to explain but Sally let out another furious growl as she got right back into Dawn’s face.
“L’manberg is my masterpiece, my symphony! I will be the one to decide what will happen to it!” She snapped angrily and she could practically feel the glare that Dawn was giving her.
“Are you so far gone that you will destroy the very thing you and so many others fought so hard for? The place where your son was born? The place Ezran gave two of his lives for?!” She questioned harshly only to quickly back off when Sally tried to punch her in the face.
“Lives that you took from him!” She accused furiously and Dawn took a deep steadying breath as she squared her shoulders, her body trembling from repressed anger.
“I am well aware of what I have done and I hate myself for it but don’t you dare act all high and mighty Salacia, I just wanted peace but you were the one to declare me a tyrant and drag three pups into a war. Their blood is on your hands just as much as mine and don’t you ever forget that” She said in a low dangerous tone of voice that stunned Sally into silence, she took in another deep breath before she turned on her heel and began walking away only stopping for a moment so that she could glance back at the Alpha.
“If you try to go through with your plans Sally I’ll make sure it is the last thing you ever do” She threatened seriously before disappearing around the corner leaving behind a conflicted Sally while their secret eavesdropper slipped away with a conflicted expression on his face.
