Ezran
Ezran paced back and forth in his tiny little room with a conflicted expression on his face as the conversation he had spied on replayed in his mind. He initially hadn’t intended to spy on anything he had just heard Sally getting angry at Callum and had gone to stop it but then Dawn showed up, and now he didn’t know how to feel.
“Was she telling the truth?” He mumbled to himself questioningly as he stopped pacing and ran his fingers through his hair. He honestly didn’t know how to feel about Dawn, they had been on pretty good terms since the start of Pogtopia but there had always been this cloud hanging over their interactions because of what happened during the war. But if she regretted what had happened then maybe they could move past it?
“She did save Callum” He mumbled to himself again as he took a seat on his bed and stared down at his hands thoughtfully. When he had gotten the ping on his communicator that Dawn had killed Gabriel he was shocked and when Callum told him the reason behind it he was even more shocked.
By killing Gabriel and saving Callum she had put herself at risk, the Greater Smp were neutral and Dawn had been very adamant about them staying that way even if she did secretly help Pogtopia here and there. Her actions could have resulted in war but she hadn’t cared, keeping a pup safe had mattered more to her than her neutrality.
So far it seemed like Gabriel either didn’t care that Dawn had killed him or he didn't realize it had been Dawn who did it, he didn’t carry his communicator on him very often so he could have missed the ping, but that could change at any time.
And then there was the matter of the TNT, when Dawn had initially given it to Sally he was ready to hate the woman for the rest of his life but now? He wasn’t sure what to feel. Was Dawn being honest about removing the TNT? Did she care about everyone here? Did she regret taking two of his lives?
“I have to find out” He announced to himself as he stood up and slipped out of his room being very careful to not be spotted by anyone, if they knew what he was planning they would immediately try and put a stop to it and he couldn’t afford for that to happen. He had to know the truth.
Slipping into L’manberg was laughably easy, seeing as just about everyone had turned their backs on Gabriel there was no one to stop him from discovering the truth.
“It’s all gone” He said in awe as he stared at the empty cavern that had once been filled with TNT, now all that was in it were a couple of torches and dirt blocks likely dropped by Endermen.
“What are you doing down here Ezran?” A voice questioned from behind and when he turned around he saw Dawn standing there with her head tilted to the side in confusion.
“You really got rid of it all” He mumbled in surprise and Dawn hummed as she walked up to the younger blonde.
“Ah, so you spied on mine and Sally’s conversation” She remarked fondly and Ezran let out a sheepish chuckle as he rubbed the back of his neck while a faint blush appeared on his cheeks.
“I wouldn’t really call it spying just listening from afar secretly” He said brightly earning him a loud bubbly laugh from Dawn which made him puff his chest out smugly. His nose suddenly twitched as he noticed something that he hadn’t before, he could smell Dawn’s scent. His eyes widened in shock as he stared at the laughing blonde while the soothing scent of lavender invaded his senses.
“You're an Omega?!” He blurted out in shock to which Dawn stiffened up as she slapped her hand against her neck in alarm.
“Shit” She cursed under her breath, she hadn’t expected to run into anyone this late at night so she hadn’t bothered to retake her suppressant. She glanced back at Ezran who was still gaping at her in shock and she let out a tired sigh as she let her hand slip away from her neck.
“Yeah, I’m an Omega” She muttered and Ezran’s jaw seemed to drop even further.
“Since when?!” He questioned loudly and Dawn let out another tired sigh as she crossed her arms.
“Since forever” She said simply as she turned her head to the side slightly while Ezran ran his fingers through his hair as he tried to process this information, he had been so convinced that the older blonde was an Alpha that this information was practically earth-shattering.
“You can’t tell anyone about this Ezran” Dawn said seriously and Ezran glanced back up at her as he noticed just how tense the Omega’s shoulders were. His expression softened slightly as he nodded in understanding.
“I won’t, I promise” He said softly and Dawn’s shoulders relaxed but not entirely so Ezran raked through his mind to try and figure out how to comfort the woman. Showing affection worked with Theo and Callum so maybe that would work here too? He highly doubted Dawn would appreciate a headbutt like Theo would but maybe a hug? He slowly inched closer and wrapped Dawn up into a tight hug while also gently nuzzling her.
Dawn let out a soft gasp of surprise before a pleased purr escaped her as she nuzzled Ezran back happily, her scent growing stronger in her happiness and Ezran felt all of his protective Alpha urges come to the forefront as he swore to himself that he would never let anyone hurt her just like he had done for Theo, Callum, Delia, Julian, and Aspen.
They sat down on the ground as Ezran allowed Dawn to continue to nuzzle him while he also tried to ignore the pleased rumbles that escaped him as he relished in the comforting embrace of the Omega. They sat like that for what felt like hours before Dawn slowly pulled away.
“We should probably get you back to Pogtopia” She remarked softly and Ezran let out a slightly dramatic sigh as he nodded in agreement.
“Yeah probably, Techno wakes up stupidly early and if he discovers that I’m missing he might go a tiny bit bloodthirsty” He said casually and Dawn chuckled as she stood up before helping the pup stand up as well.
“I’ll lead you back” She said as she finished chuckling and Ezran simply hummed in acceptance as the two of them made their way out of the empty cavern and back towards Pogtopia when he suddenly remembered something.
“You know I always figured that you were an Alpha and that the reason you hid your scent was because you smelled god awful” He remarked offhandedly earning him another loud bubbly laugh from Dawn which definitely did not make him preen in pride.
