Talking Like Adults
Julian bounced his leg anxiously as he waited in the park near his house for Soren and Eric to show up, he was honestly really fucking nervous. What if they didn't want to work things out? What if he lost them forever?
“Hey Julian” Soren said softly as he and Eric approached.
“Hey” He greeted back as his leg bounced faster and his stomach churned at the anxious expressions on both of their faces.
“You said you wanted to talk?” Eric prompted softly as he and Soren took a seat across from him and he nodded as he wrung his hands together nervously.
“Yeah, I uh I am so sorry for blowing up on you two like I did, you didn’t deserve that especially you Eric” He apologized and Eric gave him a soft smile as he reached over to take his hands into his own.
“You don’t need to apologize Julian, we should be the ones apologizing. We- no I should never have let you feel left out like that” He said sadly and Julian squeezed his hands softly.
“I should have said something sooner instead of bottling it up” He tried to reason but Soren just let out a frustrated sigh as he reached out to grasp his hands as well.
“While saying something would have been helpful we should never have let you feel so left out, I should have been paying more attention” He said seriously and Julian went to say something but Eric was quick to cut him off.
“No you will not place all of the blame on yourself, we all need to work on our communication skills” He said seriously and Julian chuckled little to himself in agreement while Soren squeezed his hands gently.
“Please never doubt that I love you Julian, I don’t know what I would do without you, both of you” He said earnestly as he glanced between Julian and Eric who both smiled softly at him.
“I love you to Firebug” Julian said softly and Eric hummed in agreement as he nodded.
“Always” Eric said as he messily pulled them both into an awkward hug, Julian flapped his wings a little bit as he stretched across the table a little painfully.
“Okay this is starting to hurt” Julian said as he pulled away and Eric gave him a sheepish grin as Soren chuckled.
“Sorry Juls” He said sheepishly and Julian simply shrugged as he folded his wings back up.
“It’s fine” He said warmly and Eric smiled as they sat there in comfortable silence for a moment before Eric broke it.
“From now on let's talk about everything, whether it's good or bad, I really don’t want something like this to happen again” He said seriously and Julian and Soren nodded in agreement.
“Of course” Soren said warmly and Eric smiled brightly as they once again lapsed into a comfortable silence.
Meanwhile…
“Do you think they made up?” Theo questioned as he shuffled a little closer to which Ezran shrugged his shoulders.
“I can’t fucking hear a word they're saying but they hugged so that a good sign right?” He suggested and the others just shrugged their own shoulders.
“Remind me again why we're doing this?” Ezekiel questioned as he pulled some leaves out of his hair and shifted his legs into a more comfortable position.
“We have to make sure that Soren and Eric don’t hurt Juls again” Ezran stated seriously and Theo nodded passionately in agreement.
“It seems like we had nothing to worry about” Vesper commented as he observed the pure lovesick looks that were on all three men's faces.
“Something bad could still happen” Theo muttered as he returned his attention to the trio, Julian was like an older brother to him and he would be damned if he let anyone hurt him.
“And what do you four think you're doing?” An unimpressed sounding voice questioned to which all four of them stiffened up as they turned around and saw Dawn standing behind them with her arms crossed.
“I told you we’d get caught” Vesper muttered and Ezran shot him a small glare.
“Shut up” He hissed childishly as he crossed his own arms.
“Well? I’m waiting” Dawn prompted and the four of them shared a look before Theo puffed his chest out a little bit.
“We're just looking out for Julian” he said seriously and Dawn’s expression softened a little bit as her arms uncrossed.
“While that is very sweet of you this is a private moment between the three of them, so how about you get out of the bushes and we go back to the house?” She suggested and after a bit of grumbling, she was able to get the four of them out of the bushes and headed back towards the car. She glanced back briefly at the trio and smiled softly at the sight before she continued to herd the four children away.
“That means you to Logan!” He called out and there was a muffled curse and then a thump as Logan fell out of the tree he was hiding in.
“How did you know I was here?” He questioned as he stood up and dusted himself off to which Dawn just smirked.
“Magic” She said teasingly and Logan grumbled as he too was herded towards Dawn’s car as the children all laughed at him.
ZZZ: Julian, Soren and Eric are all being sappy again and I hate it
