TnT: Dawn is it okay if I come over for a little bit?
Firecracker: Of course Theo
Firecracker: Is something wrong?
TnT: Dads drinking again
Firecracker: How about you spend the night
TnT: Are you sure?
Firecracker: Yeah of course
Firecracker: Besides it's just me at home right now so we can do whatever you want
TnT: Does that mean what I think it means
Firecracker: It means we can have copious amounts of ice cream not makes explosives
TnT: Darn
Firecracker: Darn indeed now do you need me to pick you up or are you fine with walking?
TnT: Can you pick me up?
Firecracker: I’m on my way
Theo hugged his backpack close to his chest as he sat on the front porch waiting for Dawn. He loved his dad and he knew his dad loved him but it honestly scared him when he would drink, his dad had never been a violent or even loud drunk but he couldn’t shake the fear of what if that changed.
“Hey kiddo” Dawn said softly as she sat down next to him and Theo hummed as he placed his head on her shoulder.
“He didn’t hurt you right?” She asked Theo shook his head, Dawn always made a point of asking that even if the answer was always no as in the past she had had bad experiences with drunks.
“No, he never does its just…” He trailed off and Dawn hummed as she wrapped her arm around his shoulders.
“Scary I know” She said softly and Theo couldn’t help but glance at the scar over Dawn’s right eye, a scar that had been caused by her former foster father smashing her in the face with a broken beer bottle. A scar that had also left her partially blind in that eye.
It had been at a family dinner when Dawn had finally told the story about it and it had honestly been the first time that Theo had thought that his dad might quit drinking as after dinner he had poured out every bottle of alcohol in the house with an ashen look on his face. However, that had only lasted a month before he had a bad day at work and went back to drinking.
“Come on let's go get pizza and junk food” Dawn said as she nudged his shoulder and he grinned as they both stood up.
“Can we invite Vesper, Ezran and Ezekiel?” He asked cheerfully as he bounced alongside Dawn towards the car.
“Sure why not” Dawn said fondly and Theo beamed as he pulled out his phone and started typing away, Dawn just chuckled as she made sure Theo was situated in the back before pulling out of the drive away and making her way towards Ezran’s house.

RacoonAdopter: HELL YEAH! SHE LETS US GET AWAY WITH EVERYTHING!

WaterPhobic: Honestly if Eliza hadn’t walked in when she did she probably wouldn’t have stopped us

Ufo: Tell Dawn to park around the corner and I’ll meet you there

Ufo: Sebastian is mad at me so he probably won’t let me go but I’m not missing out on this chaos
