‘Like a man setting his eyes on the sun for the first time.’ But we forget how we wince upon the great sight, our sun, even when our eyes have only been sheathed from it for a spare few moments. We see it as a grandiose thing and yet we squeeze our eyes shut when met with its flaming form. We shield ourselves from the very sky that grants us safety.
We flinch away in pain.
A man who sets his eyes upon our one and only star is a vulnerable man. One that would fall to his knees, hands pressing into his eyelids, because even the most wonderful of things are painful when deprived of it. Even if only for a flash.
