Harry was lying on the pitch in the quidditch stadium. He had drunk far too much and in his drunken stupor had taken anything people handed his way. Harry had no idea what he took, all he knew was it was cold, he was alone and that the stars were dancing with one another. As he was picking at the grass he started to cry, even Harry didn't know what he was crying about, his warm tears were soothing his freezing face. All Harry had on was his black trousers and a blue sleeveless button up. Goosebumps littered his arms and legs, he had thought about rubbing his arms to soothe the cold but just carried on picking at the ground.
When Harry had bored himself from the ground he sat up and fetched his phone from his pocket. The bright screen made him grimace and shake his head, he stopped instantly as the action made his head spin more. Harry fumbled putting his password in, after a few attempts he was in and started scrolling through his contacts. His nose scrunched at all the contacts, he couldn't call any of them. They would all flip out at him if they knew his situation. He kept scrolling until his fingers haltered over a contact he hadn't called in months, Blaise Zabini. Without another thought he called the number. One ring, two, three then there was an Italian accent cutting though the phone, "Hello, who is this?" Harry smiled,
"You didn't save my number." It wasn't a question, Harry had known Blaise wouldn't save his number. Its not like they left off on bad terms, Blaise just wasn't keen on speaking to Harry ever again. Harry could hear shuffling on the other end of the phone as Blaise sat up, "Harry. its four in the morning why in the world are you calling me?" Harry just chuckled and didn't answer, "If you don't answer me I'm hanging up." Harry stops laughing, "I don't know," he answered honestly and he could hear Blaise sighing, "Are you fucking high?" Blaise spat, Harry just hummed, "The moon is singing, he doesn't have a nice voice."
"Are you fucking kidding me." Blaise said as he stood up to put his shoes on, "Oh, sorry didn't know you were close to the moon. I didn't mean it, I'm not a bad person." Blaise just sighed again, he quite liked doing that Harry though and then chuckled to himself, "Where are you I'm coming to get you." Harry could hear his door opening and shutting, "I'm at the quidditch pitch, you don't have to come and get me, it's past curfew."
"Harry I don't care about curfew. Just stay where you are I'll be there in five minutes." Harry just nodded, acting like Blaise could see him and laid back on the grass. The moon had stop singing to join in with the starts dancing. It was beautiful really, a ball in the sky, just for Harrys eyes. Suddenly it started to feel like the stands were closing in on Harry, he didn't like that, if he wanted a hug he would've asked. Harry couldn't breath, it felt like his brain was doing star jumps in his head, everything was spinning and he couldn't do anything about it.
Soon there was a tall black boy brining his vision back, "Get up, Harry." Harry could hear the sleepiness in his voice, "You actually came," Blaise nodded, "Of course I did, now get up." He put his hand out for Harry to grab and Harry latched on like it was his lifeline. Harry wobbled when he stood up, darkness clouded his vision as he grabbed Blaise's shoulders to balance himself, "Fuck me, what did you take?" Harry just shrugged and smiled up at him, "You came." Harry knew he was repeating himself but he couldn't help it. He actually came! "Yes, I came. I need to know what you took." Harry just shook his head, "I told you, I don't know," he slurred, "I think I'm drunk."
"You don't say. What's gotten into you? I thought you didn't touch that stuff." Blaise looked down at Hurry with a look of pity, "I don't. I miss you." Blaise shook his head and grabbed Harry's face, "You don't mean that. Now lets take you back to your bed." He placed his hand on Harrys back and tried to guide him out of the pitch, Harry missed the warmth on his face, "I don't wanna go back, I like being with you." Harry smirked and started to shiver. Blaise took his green jumper off and put it over Harrys head, "I don't care what you like I'm taking you back to bed. You should've remembered what you took, better yet you shouldn't of fucking taken anything." Harry just pouted, "Can a boy not let go of life for a night?" Blaise's eyes widened as he looked down again exasperated, "Yes a boy can but you can't! Do you have any idea how scary this is? I don't know what you took, quite frankly you look like death and you're looking at me in ways I can't help but miss. So yes, maybe another boy can let loose but not you." All of that went in one ear and out the other. All Harry could focus on was Blaise,
"You're beautiful." Harry looked at Blaise like he'd just given him the sun. The world around them was still spinning but Blaise stood still. He was lighting Harrys vision. Blaise smiled for a moment then went back to his stoic face, "Thank you, can I take you back now?" Harry nodded and held Blaise's hand, Blaise looked at it and paused but didn't shake Harry off. Harry took that as a win. Blaise started walking and Harry tried to follow but his legs didn't cooperate leaving Harry back on the floor, "I don't think I can do that." Harry looked up with doe eyes, Blaise looked him up and down then scooped Harry up bridal style. Harry smiled, "It's been a whil-" Before Harry could say anything else Blaise cut him off, "Harry, I'm not stuck holding on to the past and you shouldn't be either. We were never together, stop acting like we were." Harrys tears came back from earlier, "But we were close. You wanted it." he whispered, before Blaise could say anything else Harry started talking again, "Don't deny it, Blaise. My heart wont be able to handle it. Just let me remember it without you ruining it."
"You're one to talk about ruining things. You ruined what we had, not me. Yes I wanted you but so does everyone else. I couldn't have you. You wanted more than you could handle." Blaise muttered out in one breath, "Okay pretty boy." was all Harry could muster up the confidence to say without his voice breaking. And if Blaise held Harry a little bit tighter Harry wouldn't tell. The rest of their walk was filled with silence, if you don't count the flowers shouting obscene things at Harry and Blaise. Well just Harry he thought, it's not like Blaise could hear what was going on his Harrys head.
The silence was cut by Blaise's gravelly voice, "What room are you in anyways." Everything had changed when they went back for their eighth year. They were placed in the West Tower and had shared a room with only one other person, "I don't remember." Harry giggled, "Merlin save me," Blaise mumbled, "Yes you do Harry, who do you room with?" Harry quietly told him he roomed with Ron and told him what room he was in. When they got to the room the portrait guarding it was nearly asleep, "Right, what is the password." Harry froze and looked up at Blaise sheepishly, "That I actually don't remember, I'm always with Ron and he does it." Blaise looked at him with disbelief but didn't say anything as he carried Harry to his room.
Before Blaise told his portrait the password he warned Harry, "I share a room with Theo, don't be surprised if he's still awake." Harry barely registered that as he put his head on Blaise's chest, he was so tired. Just like Blaise had said Theo was awake and staring at them. Again Harry didn't notice, all he could focus on was the heartbeat underneath him. Merlin, he had missed this, "And why are you carrying potter?" Theo laughed as he looked the both of them up and down, "He's drunk and high. He didn't know the password to his room so here we are." Theo chuckled, "So that's why you ran out the room earlier? Didn't take Potter as the type to get in this state." Instantaneously Blaise informed him that his Harry, well his old Harry, would never get himself in a state like that. Harry had started his tired grumbling and Blaise knew that meant he was about to fall asleep. He brought Harry over to his bed and took of Harrys shoes before taking off his own then squeezed in bed next to Harry. The beds at Hogwarts were small, really small but there was nowhere else to sleep. Harry hummed and turned to look at Blaise, "I miss it." Blaise raised an eyebrow, "You miss what, Harry?" Harry paused for a moment, "You. This. Everything." Then he turned around and fell asleep instantly. Blaise doesn't sleep for awhile after that. He couldn't help but agree with Harry, he had missed it too.
When Blaise woke up Harrys arms were entangled with his, he laid there for a moment, relishing the skin to skin contact before shaking himself out from Harry grip, "Don't leave." he heard Hurry mutter under his breath as he tried to chase Blaise's warmth, what he didn't hear was Harry whispering a soft 'again', "I'm not going anywhere." Blaise sat up and watched Harrys eyes flutter shut again as he held on to Blaise's arm. Theo looked over at them, smirked and then left, "Harry you need to wake up." Harry groaned but slowly opened his eyes, "Oh, hello." Harry smiled and let Blaise go, "Erm, sorry? It's been awhile, eh?" Blaise laughed and nodded, "It has. Are you okay, I don't know what you took last night, it might not mix well with the amount you drank." As if Blaise mentioning it set something off in Harry he ran to the bathroom, knelt on the floor and started being sick. Blaise slowly followed and was rubbing circles on Harrys back.
When Harry was done he looked at Blaise and giggled," What has the world come to? Blaise Zabini on the bathroom floor. The world must be ending!" Blaise chuckled at Harrys dramatics, "Anything for you, Harry." The air fell quiet until Harry leaned over to hug Blaise, "I wasn't lying last night, I really do miss you," Blaise didn't think about his response, "Me too, Harry, me too." Harry looked up to see Blaise staring down at him, Harry could've gotten lost in his deep brown eyes for hours, "I would kiss you but I've kind of just, you know, been sick." Harry said, while picking at his fingers, "Well go drink a glass of water and brush your teeth then, idiot." Blaise grinned at him and slowly held Harrys hand to stop him from picking at his skin.
They found a spare toothbrush for Harry to use and couldn't stop glancing at each other while they brushed their teeth. The minute Harry had washed out his mouth with water Blaise was ready, holding his face, Harry beamed at him. Their mouths met, it was slow, delicate and everything they had missed. Harry could feel Blaise's lips smile on his and Harry couldn't help but smile as well. Harrys hands made their way to the tall boys hair, deepening the kiss, Blaise swiped a tongue over Harrys chapped lips and Harry allowed him access. Eventually they pulled apart, Blaise sniggered at the roaring blush covering Harrys face, Harry dipped his head to Blaise's chest and covered his face with his hands, "None of that, I've missed you I deserve to see you blush again. it's cute." Blaise pulled Harrys hands away from his face and looked at him with such worship Harry felt like he was going to explode. Soon enough lips were back on his. When they came apart Harry was grinning like a maniac, "Was it worth coming to my aid at four in the morning?" Blaise nodded, haltered, shook his head then nodded again, "Yes, don't do it again. You scared the life out of me. " Harry laughed at him, Blaise's face stood serious, "No seriously, don't do it again. I almost had a heart attack when I heard your voice." Harry sighed and started playing with Blaise's hands, "Yeah yeah I wont to it again. You're starting to sound like Hermione." Blaise gasped and put his hand, still intertwined with Harrys, on his heart, "How dare you!" He said with faux disgust, "I guess next time I'll leave you high and drunk in the quidditch pitch alone."
"I thought I wasn't supposed to do it again?" Blaise softly pushed him, "Oh shut up." Harry smirked, "Make me." Blaise laughed but kissed him, effectively shutting him up, "You're so stupid." Blaise shook his head, his face gave him away though, he was practically grinning ear to ear, "You love it,"
"I love anything you do."
So what if they got stared at when they walked into the great hall, they had each other.
