Chapter 3

April 27th 1985

Evan walks in to find Barty rubbing circles on Regulus’ back. Both fully clothed in a cold bath. Evan slips off his shoes and joins them. Sitting on the other side of Regulus. They sit for a while until Barty gently cups Regulus’ face so they are eye to eye. Evan taking over rubbing Regulus’ back.

“Reg, it’s not your fault.” Regulus lets out a soft sob. He would probably murder any witnesses if they weren’t Barty and Evan.

“It’s not Reg” Evan adds with as much heart.

October 18th 1979

They are in the middle of the club dancing like nobodies watching but knowing peoples eyes are drawn to them. They are dancing like Regulus isn’t heart broken, like they didn’t just lie on the floor of their apartment for an hour as Barty tried once again to come to terms with his farther’s hatred. Like Evan isn’t guilt ridden about his parents.
People always talk about how even in big groups of people you can still feel alone. Evan doesn’t think he could ever feel alone with Regulus and Barty.
