Blaise could see the excitement in Harley's eyes as the end of the year grew closer. Blaise was also excited; all of his friends, except Neville, would be joining him for the summer holidays. The newest step-father wouldn't be able to hurt him now!
Of course, they wouldn't all be joining him at once. Harrison and Harley would come home with him, and Draco would come a week later. The Weasleys had to sort out family things before coming, so Ron and the twins wouldn't be visiting until around the middle of July. Hermione wouldn't be coming until the day after her mother's birthday, which was a week before the Potter-Black twins'.
The beginning of June arrived, and with it, the voting for Slytherin's new King and Queen. They were always given a few weeks to vote, apparently, since not everyone knew the talents of the participators.
Most of the competitors were weeded out, leaving Gemma and Gordon Farley, who were fifth years; Maya Bottleby, who was a sixth year; and Jinn Macnair, also a fifth year. Blaise was hoping the twins would get it, because Bottleby had a slight temper problem and Macnair hated Muggleborns. The Farleys were neutral in the last war, and the twins were very good at peacemaking. They had also decided to keep those in the Court that weren't graduating that year, and add their friend Sage Shacklebolt, who wanted to become a Healer.
Blaise was disappointed that the first and second years weren't allowed to watch the tournament, but he recognized that the rule was just keeping them safe. Harley was also disappointed, but Blaise knew it was for very different reasons. ("Harley, no, you're not allowed to sabotage Macnair." "Awww, but Harrikinnnnnns!")
Exams began, and everyone was stressed except Harrison and Blaise. Blaise was confident that he'd gotten an Outstanding in everything except History of Magic, and that Harrison would have gotten higher on Outstanding on everything, had there been such a grade. Their friends seemed to do fine (although Harley almost set his History test on fire).
"Draco, I think your father needs to suggest a school inspection to the Board," Harrison said as they left the Great Hall after their History of Magic test. "I want Binns replaced."
"Father has done that, many times," Draco corrected resignedly. "Every time the School Board agrees and even plans it out, but then it never happens."
Harrison hissed, causing Blaise, Hermione, and Draco to shudder. "Then perhaps the headmaster needs to be distracted."
"By what?" Blaise asked curiously.
Harley stomped out after them, steam blowing from his ears. His green eyes were full of angry insanity.
Harrison straightened at the sight of his brother, an idea lighting in his eyes. "Harley," Harrison purred, and the redhead perked up, "do you want to let loose some of that anger? I need a distraction for the headmaster, so that the Board can conduct an inspection of the school."
Harley grinned maniacally. "Yessssss~"
"I think Pettigrew needs a visit from Chaos," Harrison said softly, so that only Blaise could hear. Hermione and Draco frowned in confusion.
The grin grew even wider.
