I turn off notifications and lock my phone. “ Sorry for waking you and everyone else mate.” “It's fine I wast awaketh just bethinking.” “ How. The. HELL. Do you just have the Shakespearean translation to average sentences at the ready dude?” “ I don’t always but I have been speaking like that since I was like 14, at some point it just comes naturally to you” “can I ask why you started speaking in Shakespeare?” “technically thou didst just asketh. but I shall not answ’r” “right its your business, I won't push.” Today is the day I plan to ask Reggie if he wants to go on a date. We Have hung out a lot this past month, talked every day, and hung out every two or three days. It's only nine am now but I meet with Reg at noon. Damnit! I still have three hours to kill before I can see him. I decide to get dressed in the outfit Xenophilius helped me pick out last night ( a nicer pair of jeans, and an emerald green jumper ( green is reggies fav color)) . I try to style my hair, but as normal, it doesn’t work. I check the time on my phone. 11:45. Perfect timing, I guess. “I am leaving now, wish me luck” “Valorous luck asking regulus out”
Regulus POV
I wake up to the sound of notifications blowing up my phone. Oh right, I added James to the group chat. When I open my phone to go through them all I see that Sirius has given James a nickname, because of course they have.
I am meeting with James in an hour. Today is the day I will ask him on a date. He has quickly become one of my favorite people so I really hope he says yes. I get out of bed and go through my morning routine, Brush teeth, Pick out what I’m wearing for the day (today I’m wearing black pants, a black button up, and a scarlet red sweater vest (because James told me that’s his favorite color.) I also brush and style my hair. By the time I am done getting ready it's 11:50. I don't have time to eat something before I meet with him, damn. “Bye panda I’m off to meet james.” “Bye Reggie, good luck asking him out!”
When I get to the court yard james is already there wearing my favorite shade of green, fuck. I wonder if that was intentional. He is looking at his phone.
“Hello James, have you been waiting long?” As he looks up, he smiles that stupidly cute smile “No, not long at all, just a few minutes, I like your sweater vest.” “Oh thank you, I like your sweater as well.” His smile widens. With the sun shining behind him he looks fucking god-like. “Have you eaten yet, reg? Because if not I was thinking we could go to that new cafe.”
Like a date???? Or maybe he means just as friends. I guess the best way to know is to ask.
‘ I have yet to eat so that would be lovely. So does that make this a date then?”
James POV
“-so does that make this a date then?”
“If you want it to be then sure, it's a date” Welp there goes my big speech -wait I had a speech?? “ I want it to be a date,let's go then?” “ Yeah lets.”
The walk to the cafe is about fifteen minutes. As we walked he started holding my hand, I never wanted to let him go. The whole walk is filled with laughter and warmth which is nice on such a breezy day. When we get to the cafe I open the door for them. “Oh! Thank you.” He smiles softly. “You’re welcome.”
‘Welcome in- Oh Hi Reggie.” Says the barista behind the counter. “”Hello Dorcas, I was unaware you got a job.” “OOh that's what I keep forgetting to do. Yeah I got this job like last week.” “ Wow, that's awesome Cassie.” They turn to me “I am guessing you are James?” “Yep that’s me, nice to meet you in person mate.” ‘You as well. Anyways, what can I get the two of you?” After we order and chat a bit more we go find a quiet table to eat at. “Thank you for paying Jamie, you ,didn't have to.” “Jamie? Where did that come from, eh?” He blushes faintly. ‘Sorry it just slipped out, I won't call you that again if you don’t like it” “Well I like it so feel free to call me that forever if you want.”
