The Spider Infested Cruise; Epilogue
***the raft, 2 days later***
'And finally, do you wish to harm your friend and fellow agent Kate Bishop?' The SHIELD agents asked Yelena.
'No, I do not.' Yelena answered quickly, just wanting to be done with these safety protocols, so she could see Kate.
Yelena was pretty banged up after the fight, there wasn't a part on her body that didn't hurt. Only thing was: Kate had probably held back, not wanting to hurt her friend. Yelena had been hypnotised, and had probably given it her all.
'Okay, you're good to go.' The SHIELD agent told her happily, gathering her papers and gesturing towards the guard by the door, who undid Yelena's cuffs. 'Now, there is someone who wants to see you so badly, she has driven everyone crazy.' The SHIELD agent told Yelena with a smile, then turned to the guard: 'Let her in.'
As soon as the door was opened, Kate ran in, engulfing the Russian spy in a hug. Yelena smiled and hugged her back, then held her at arm's length: 'You okay? Did I hurt you badly?'
'Nope, I am fine!' Kate exclaimed, her voice weirdly high-pitched and raspy. Yelena gasped:
'Did I choke you?!'
'Only for a few seconds.'
'More like, for a whole minute.' Agent Hill mentioned, as she walked into the room, making Yelena feel more guilty. Kate laughed at her friend:
'Stop feeling so guilty, after all: I punched you in the face... several times.' she added ruefully, toying with her hair. Yelena raised her eyebrows:
'I suppose we're even then. What happened to our friend?'
'That's actually what I'm here about.' Agent Hill said, speaking up, 'After disappearing with the diamond, he seems to have gone to Mexico. Now there's rumours there of a man swinging around the town and robbing rich people, in a spider costume. He also strung a message across the bridge with his webs. It read: "care to play cat and mouse again, agents?" This guy ring a bell?'
Yelena groaned: 'Did we accomplish nothing?'
'You found out what his powers are: now we know how to go about dealing with him.'
'And how is that?'
'By sending you two. Care for another mission Agent Bishop and Bolova?' Kate cracked a smile and Yelena returned it:
'Ready as we'll ever be, agent Hill.' she answered with a salute, grinning from ear to ear. 'We can take on the alias of being sisters: I'm the normal one and Kate here is the one with the weird voice whom no guy with ever look at!'
Kate stuck her tongue out at her partner, who just smiled. Agent Hill rolled her eyes: one of these days they should seriously start recruiting agents who did not act like children 24/7.
