Day 19 Halfmoon Betta Fish
Water can sparkle like shattered diamonds especially if or when the sun decides to shine down on the ocean as lazy waves rolled by and a cool breeze washed over everything. You were currently mopping up some of the water that got dragged along the floor on the way inside in order to not slip on it later.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make a mess."
"Ah! No. It's ok." You quickly turned to raise a hand. "It's no one's fault. I just wanted to clean up the spill."
You had to quickly calm down Suma who looked on the verge of tears before she could start crying again. If she did then no doubt Tengen would hear it and come immediately running expecting danger. He'd gotten extremely overprotective since the whole kidnapping incident not that you blamed him but you didn't need an angry snarling merman crawling his way up the beach and breaking down your door...Again.
"You wanted to see what the inside of my house looked like, and I agreed. I knew the floors were gonna get wet anyways."
It was just Suma and yourself today. Said blue eyed mermaid had been hiding from Makio along the shore so she could nap instead of being forced to go lobster hunting and the two of you had run into each other. Of course Suma being Suma had latched onto you as soon as you came close enough and began talking a mile a minute about how mean Suma was being. You of course did your best to talk her down as Hinatsuru does but somehow the topic steered to the home you lived in and with curiosity she stared at it.
"I want to see what it looks like inside!," she declared, "Does it look like our grotto?! Take me in!! Take me in!!"
And that's how you ended up soaking wet from carrying her bridal style into the house and giving her a tour around the place. Leaving a water trail around you both and a giant puddle from where you eventually placed down Suma in an old kitchen chairs you could take time out to go mopping up the floors... You'd have to convince Tengen to take you back to the human settlement to get some new clothes and a mop.
"You should come see our grotto!! We decorated it with lots of colorful shells and there's lots of coral and Tengen even keeps a massive hoard of treasures there!"
"I'd like to buy I can't breath underwater and I can't hold my breath for too long."
"Oh. I forgot."
"SUMA!!" Both of you jumped at the sound of the loud voice and turned to the open window. "I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE YOU LAZY SARDINE!! GET YOUR TAIL OUT HERE RIGHT NOW BEFORE I COME IN AND DRAG YOU OUT MYSELF DAMMIT!!"
